Haringey Council - awful and turn a blind eye to their failings.

This Council comes as no surprise as being voted as one of the worst in the UK.

They have continually turned a blind eye to failures to their own building control guidelines. Their responses are weak and show clear lack of any willingness to investigate and action. Unless they can get monetary fines out of you.

Allianz following the last review and update are now stating this goes back to the broker . Despite clear FCA guidelines,

They know just as Marsh do that the policy wont pay out as the freeholder - they both refuse to confirm

They know the freeholder on West Green Rd wont repair the roof, is getting worse and been told by his own solicitor it leaks. He has neglected it for 10 years,
They were shown the holes and faecal matter all inside the loft.

The premise was never categorised as a cafe and the land valuation have never had this categorised as such nor a restaurant.

Building control was not followed the flat below converted into a 2 bed room without permission. Their previous head BobMcIver wrote personally and stated BC must be followed and no record exists. Yet I am being told this is a one bed flat when there are 5 people living in this 'one bed'.

Land Registry also shows it as a 1 bed - again their BC team and head were told this.

The freeholder is also NOT registered as a management agent and nor registered with the UK ICO.

Yet the current head of Building Control wont do anything and the response of staff was put it bluntly waffle - no reference to the governance and compliance.

Concrete stairs over what is now a restaurant never applied as aligned with the properties on either side never followed. A wrought Iron open staircase that sits above the kitchen and open windows.

Nor is the freeholder sharing the latest fire risk assessment for the building or whether he has notified the Council let alone the insurers.

Useless Council beyond belief,

Everyone NEEDS To Complain To SHUT Haringey DOWNN!!

What kind of USELESSNESS is this whole council. Cant even get through to speak to anyone on the phone I don’t understand how they are even busy when all they do is redirect everyone online. Online clearly doesn’t have the answers we need hence why the call DURRRR! People needs to be investigated as clearly no one is doing their jobs In that council! Online doesn’t even give you basic details of why you owe or reasons of breakdowns.. has the options with NOOO info 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ what a joke of a council they NEED to be SHUT DOWN n taken over because this has been ongoing BAD service for manyyyy years now!! Calling to get through and going through the whole long options just to then be told they busy and don’t have a queue as opposed to to even allowing anyone to wait in the queue just say you have zero people on the line to deal with any enquiries and not have that option it’s a waste of peoples time calling up! When you don’t get your money don’t complain! Everyone should just NOT pay them see how fast they’ll pick up the phones then🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Job No 495123

Job No 495123. On 15/12/25, two weeks ago, I booked a repair (HSGREP7736579) for the AWK walk in shower pump to be repaired. This morning two repairmen, not the pump engineers, turned up to check what repair was needed. After staring and agreeing that the shower pump needed repairing, they said they would raise the job but couldn't give a time frame. Bear in mind the pump was last replaced on the 4 August this year whereas before they used to last for years. Is Haringey now using cheaper products? Can't they see it is a waste of time and resources? Additionally, my daughter is neurodivergent and uses showers to self regulate so we have had to use bowls and buckets when she has a quick shower to stop the bathroom from flooding. What is happening to Haringey council? As a long time council tax payer, I am disappointed and concerned at this new level of unacceptable service.

Haringey Council handling of my PCN…

Haringey Council’s handling of my PCN appeal was appalling. I explained clearly that I entered the restricted zone due to an emergency involving my disabled mother, yet this was completely disregarded. The response took over two months and showed zero compassion, discretion, or common sense.
This was not a deliberate violation, but the council appears more interested in revenue than in supporting vulnerable residents or carers facing genuine emergencies. The lack of empathy and the automated, dismissive nature of the response is deeply concerning and reflects extremely poor public service.
Can go far as saying , WORST council in the UK.

The worst council I’ve ever had the…

The worst council I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with, customer service awful, staff (after waiting a hour on the phone) have a chip on their shoulder and when you prove them wrong they hang up or disconnect you. The council changes door entry system without telling flat holders then nobody can get in. When you eventually get through on the phone, you’re told to apply on line and wait 5 working days for a response! I wish this council would take training on how to actually help people and not just rob them of service charge!!!

The Pits of Mindnumbing possibilities

I was transferred to the CustomerService Team by one person at General Enquiries, I could hear the glee in his voice as he said to me: I have to transfer you... and so Ive been holding (still am) since 11.31 by that person to the Customer Service Team, still holding till 12.50..although several automated pleas were heard to please Press 1 Immediately to receive a call back, which I didnt do! I wanted to see how long they would take to answer. Their automated messages saying I am at No.2 to be answered in approximately 1 minute at 12.33. The time is now 12.51 THESE PEOPLE ARE A JOKE! when the call was finally answered at 12.55 the guy apologised saying: We have small teams, and cannot get to the phones quick enough...not a good excuse...poor service by the Council yet they can demand higher Rates by amending their DD at will..

Disgraceful

A complete overhaul required starting with the CEO's office in my opinion. An absolute disgrace of a council that has very little to no regard for it's residents, quite disgraceful.

if i could give them minus 1000 i would

Unfortunately living in Haringey i have to deal with the council sometimes. They are absolutely useless. Really inefficiant. Their website is very old / clunky and often online forms need submitting muliple times as when you press send there is some fault and says to try later - meaning you to re input all the info. Its also really hard to contact them if you have a query not addressed on the website. Also, even though I live in what is laughably called a "conservation area" they allowed my neighbour to chop down 2 large trees and build a big structure in her garden, despite all the surrounding properties objecting. This is just a very poorly run organisation

Corrupted Council

The council is extremely corrupt and shows little regard for its tenants. Follow-up repairs are rarely scheduled, and it often takes over an hour to reach someone in the repairs department. When you finally do get through, they go to great lengths to deny responsibility for the issue, even when it is clearly their obligation to address it.

The rehousing process is appalling. Despite providing two years' worth of medical records and letters from two doctors stating that my current living situation is inappropriate, they have disregarded this information and have not rehoused me. It is evident that they are not properly reviewing medical information from doctors.

The tower block is seriously neglected. One of the two lifts has been out of service for ten months. Most of the time, both lifts are out of service, forcing tenants to struggle to navigate the stairs in a 14-floor tower block.

Haringey Council needs a complete overhaul. They should sack and replace everyone involved. I regret ever signing up under this dreadful council.

Haringey council waste removal services

Haringey.council@lasupport
The investigating officers are untrained in carrying out investigations regarding waste, the first opportunity they get is to generate revenue at any cost even if they are fining the wrong people, even when they are provided with evidence. This is unacceptable and I advise anyone in this unfortunate situation to go to court and claim all expenses from the council

Total joke. Pay your council tax another way.

Haringey Council's website is a disgrace. When attempting to pay council tax, address lists are incomplete. But if you manually input your address, payment is not confirmed. You get whisked off to another site called Haringey London eStore, and forgets who you are. What is this garbage? Hackney was better than this and they are still recovering from a ransomware attack. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Total mess.

Haringey Council is dodgy as HELL

This council is one or all of the following:
a) Incompetent - which is the nicest of the description
b) Corrupt
c) Fraudulent
They have the support of a lazy court that does not check information before granting court orders to people who are innocent . Yes I say innocent because their council tax and traffic penalty work closely with CDER to provide dodgy documents to the court so that CDER can demand payments with menace. Both experience is to do with deliberately using an incorrect address to send demand which they then proceed to go to court and you only learn about the demands only once CDER are involved which I have two separate evidence of and I am sure of my position. This council's feedback department has been informed of this shenanigan between the council department and CDER and they have not investigated it showing that it must be lucrative or simply that they are incompetent there also. So with the latest scam they actually sent a traffic penalty notice to the wrong address and not until CDER got in touch to seize was the owner aware and why. They were sending a penalty notice to the wrong address even though the DVLA has never had that address for the car so where oh where did CDER and Haringey get the wrong address and how come their link in court did not check the information before giving CDER permission to act. I have advised that the matter is reported to the police as this Council is dodgy.

Worst council in the whole of the uk

It does not work. Most corrupt council in The Whole of the uk. Apparently I can’t mention names but look who is the mp. No help. The online portal constantly crashes and you are locked out . I’ve met literally a FEW staff members who are helpful at Marcus Garvey library and wood green library. Worst council in the whole of England. They need reporting to watchdog Media and newspapers. Been living in damp and mould conditions for several years . Their so called online does not work at all. Unhelpful and unbelievable. More and more people need to report them.

Avoid living in Haringey at all costs.

My every interaction with Haringey Council has been a disaster. So much so that I hope to never live in the borough again.
Their online forms don’t seem to be actioned and always end up in having to call them. Don’t believe their call waiting times by the way. Currently on hold for the 3rd time after being cut off twice today, still being told 24 mins wait after 56mins. That’s after pressing the “call back” options two days in a row with no call back.
I’ve been verbally abused on multiple occasions by Haringey Council staff and I’ve never missed a bill or a deadline so god help you if you are struggling to pay a bill.
