Hartington Hills Camp site, Peak District, what a gem!

We have just got back from our first visit to Hartington hills camp site in the Peak district, what A Gem of a find!
We were welcomed by one of the wardens, a lady called Beki, a lovely warm smile and a friendly greeting.
Booking in is from 2.00pm onwards.
We met Mike, the warden's husband. If he can help with anything he will do his best, such a friendly chap & nothing is too much trouble.
On arrival we were given a welcome pack with walking routes, cycles routes, free Wi-Fi and places to visit. A very informative pack.
Beki showed us to our pitch, pitch no25 was very clean & it looked like the grass had been mowed that morning. On the pitch we had full service, water, drain and a post with a light on which lit up when it was dark.
The views from around the site are breathtaking, so much to look at ( take binoculars).
The shower block when you open the first door smelled amazing ( Hartington Diffuser), sold in the shop, I came away with two. Ladies door is on the left, with 3 showers and 3 toilets. I saw them being cleaned and checked 3 times in one day. Showers have hot water day and night, they are fully cleaned around midday.
Reception and shop are together, I have never seen such a well set up shop for the size of the camp site.
These are only a few things you can buy from there, toilet rolls, washing tablets, shampoo, washing up liquid, breakfast cereals, biscuits, chocolate, sweets, tins of food, pasta, a few games, tea, coffee, juice, sauces, bread, cobs, freezer full of locally processed food, bread. In a large fridge was, pop, wine, cider, beer, butter, bacon & that's just to name a few. You can buy fresh eggs from the shop from their own chickens on site. Also in the shop are batteries, tent pegs, first aid kit, dog biscuits, ice cream. You can also hire a fire pit, the shop sells firewood. I saw a lot of people having these and they looked so nice at night lighting up the site.
We also met the owner Sue, a very nice friendly lady. I had two grandchildren with me, Sue let them stroke the chickens (only aloud if someone is with you off the site) & pick the very fresh eggs for us to buy (can't get any fresher than that for their breakfast).
Sue also let our grandchildren stroke the pony's, which is only allowed if Sue or the wardens are with you. The site has a lovely dog walk, a football pitch and a maze. We drove from Leicestershire and found it very easy to get there with a caravan. Will we be back? 100%. So much we haven't seen, I would give the site 10/10.
