Harvey Carter: terrible service

I totally endorse other customers poor experiences. I ordered a sweater in December 2024, was very underwhelmed with the look and quality, and posted it back at the end of that month for a refund. The cost of posting to China was over £20. It is now nearly May and I am still awaiting a refund! In the early days I was informed that the sweater I’d posted back was still in Chinese customs, but more recently my e mails have been ignored.

DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE

DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE! They are a Chinese company . Therefore , delays in receiving your products and as highlighted within a prior review or two, their refund policy is a joke. As you must return any items to China and four months later you still would not have received a refund! They wash their hands of any items going through Chinese customs and ask you to under value the items on the declaration to avoid taxes and controls . Therefore when lost, you cannot claim the full value of your purchase back from the postal company. Oh and did I mention you need to pay for the returns! Don't get me on the quality of the products as well!!!! Shocking.

This is a scam

This is a scam, HC are not worth bothering with. Their returns policy is a joke. I returned an item that was not correct to the address they supplied (China), and four months later still nothing even though I paid the postage to return this. They do not answer their emails anymore and are clearly ripping people off. I will be reporting them to the Trading Standards office.

This is a scam. Harvey Carter should be taken offline

This is a scam and Harvey Carter should not be allowed to operate in the UK. They have a non existent returns policy which costs you additional money. Their products are sub standard Chinese sweat shops which are very poorly made with incorrect sizing. The saga of returns appears to be a theme which I too have encountered. I paid £79 for a branded 'heavy duty winter coat' which when arrived was a light summer jacket very poorly made and nothing like the pictures on the website. I then paid £25 to return to China with the information given by a customer service agent called 'Molly'. Sure that was not her name. I tracked the parcel and like others it has said for the last 3 months it is 'held in customs'. Not a chance of a refund and I have been scammed out of £79 + £25 postage to return the goods. I have had a number of emails from 'Holly' over the course of the last 2 months when I have written to them. However, now that email address bounces back. Avoid at all costs. Their website site should be taken off line immediately.

Those guys are scammers

Those guys are scammers

I've been scammed out of £99 - their products are sub-standard bin fodder with big price tags. Returns function is non-existent as I had to pay to return to China and even then, the product is unlikely to pass through China.

I’m not gonna stop til I get my refund, I literally returned my item from January and still didn’t get my refund

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Awful quality. Chinese sweat shop that poses as an actual functioning brand. Unlikely I will get the refund for it even though I ordered the item in December and sent it back within a couple weeks of receiving it “stuck in customs” apparently.

No stars if I could!

The shirt I ordered was poor quality and did not resemble the one advertised. I have tried to return it but as it needs to go to China this has taken an exceptionally long time. The customer service is disgraceful with no real resolution and no cares given on the customer experience. PLEASE AVOID

I would give them zero stars if I…

I would give them zero stars if I could. I received a faulty order. They offered a replacement. I waited for two months only to receive an item in a wrong size. They offered a refund but want me to incur costs of sending the item back to China. The only fault on my side was ordering from them, a mistake I will never make again.

By far the worst Company I've dealt with

Harvey Carter is the worst clothing Company I've ever purchased items from. It's a front for Chinese clothing company who's products are poor quality, incorrectly sized and costly to return to China. KZ Global (UK based) will take your money and then it will take months to get a refund for a poor quality product once you've paid for it to go back to China. Honestly speaking it is a Scam!! The best thing Harvey Carter can do is close down their website and stop ripping people off.

The website makes you think the merchandise is legitimate but the quality is so poor, The company address on the website says The Netherlands but the products come from China. Please don’t make the mistake I and so many others have. Stay away from them they are a total waste of money and scam people out of their money.

I would give zero stars if possible

I would give zero stars if possible. Like >95% of the reviews on here..DO NOT ORDER anything from these crooks! Based in China, paid £75 for a coat that was too small, opted to return….followed their instruction to value the coat at £5 for china’s customs reasons and had to pay a further £20 for shipping….its now nearly 2months since returning and heard nothing from Harvey Carter…. keep getting fobbed off by “Molly”…..checked the tracking details I provided when posted and still in customs…..I’m now £95 out of pocket!!! Shocking Con merchants!!

UPDATE: Tracking has finally been updated as of today with the return clearing Chinese customs. However, I’ve just received a further update….. the coat is to be returned to sender (me)!!!!!!! What a farse!!! The coat I ordered in November but returned due to quality and poor sizing, is to be returned back to me in the UK……another 6 weeks before it goes straight in the bin…..it’s become laughable

Avoid at all costs! Product weeks late, extremely poor quality, wanted me to return to China at my own expense and despite saying they would refund within 5-7 working days, 4 weeks later, still nothing!

Dreadful AVOID

Dreadful! Ordered a Christmas jumper 9th December didn’t arrive until 7th January, website says dispatched in 1 day by Royal Mail but doesn’t say it has to come from China first. Also had email conversations with ‘Molly’ who fobbed me off with excuses, when it finally arrived, after Christmas, requested a refund was told ‘return address China as per their terms & conditions’ so would cost £20+ she offered discount but that hasn’t appeared either
Think trading standards should get involved as they are not trading in the UK as they falsely state

I’m absolutely fuming

I’m absolutely fuming. I paid for a jacket that resembled a denim material. What I received was a flammable looking polyester piece of ****!!!! And to make matters worst, PayPal voted in favour of the seller when I disputed the item/sale of because I refused to pay to send the item to China to get a refund. Asking the buyer to pay to return an item to China from the UK is all part of the scam. I’m not spending my hard earned cash to return a scam item. Shame on you PayPal. Shame on you Harvey Carter.

Harvey Carter scam website

shopify
Legal tools report-an-issue order-issue

PLEASE ALL COMPLAIN HERE.

I've had same problem as everyone else. Scam website from China.

Below is my story and must complaint raised with Shopify. Let's get Harvey Carter shut down for good

Hi,

I placed this order with this shambolic scam website. They have a UK domain and claim to be based in the Netherlands.

They are based in China.
Have you seen the Street view address in the Netherlands? It's just a block of apartments.

The items arrived 25 days after the initial order. It does not explain on the website they come from china as the UK domain fools you in thinking they are based in the UK or Europe at least. The items received look nothing like the items on the website. Very very substandard. They are very poor quality items.

When I complained, after 81 emails back and forth they eventually agreed I could return the goods, at my expense back to China. They asked me to lower the declared invoice value when returning the items back to China to avoid customs charges to less than $5. My order value was £134.50. This is illegal. If I did that and the items were lost, or Harvey Carter denied receipt of the returned items then I can only claim the declared value back. This was $5. That's what they asked me to declare. What the hell is this?

I refused and asked for a full refund as I am legally entitled to under UK consumer laws and distance selling laws. I asked for this within one day of receiving these items. They offered me 60% after 80 emails but only on one of the three items bizarrely. I refused again. They are being intentionally difficult. These items need to go in the bin. They are unworn and unwanted. Not as described and of poor quality.

Why would Shopify, a decent and law abiding company allow a company like Harvey Carter to use the Shopify platform to scam decent people out of their money by hiding the fact they are in China, being ignorant to uk selling laws and being intentionally difficult when trying to return items by asking people to break laws by lowering customs declaration values.

I sincerely hope you read the reviews. I am one of many people who have been ripped off.

I hope you do something about this. Ask them to refund my money, I don't trust returning anything to them. Please shut these people down.

I will be leaving honest reviews all over the Internet along with many others if they are not shut down as that's what needs to happen.

Also if you would like to see these emails, you are more than welcome. I can forward them to you.

Thanks
