Heaton House Farm Wedding Venue

Heaton House Farm Wedding Venue
We knew we wanted to have our wedding at Heaton House Farm from the moment we walked through the door. The location is perfect, being surrounded by beautiful countryside. From the outset the staff made everything so easy and were always on hand if we needed to check on anything or just ask a question. What they don’t know about wedding planning is not worth knowing.
The wedding day itself was also perfect, from start to finish. The pamper room is a brilliant feature and meant that we could get ready with our bridal party and have lots of room, and that amazing view!! We booked the breakfast which was lovely and kept us all going. As we were getting ready together, we had a little issue with having to hide my dress until I was ready to put it on but Harriet was great and sorted that out for us very quickly.
The staff were on hand all day and when they finished for the day they handed over to a very friendly guy who kept an eye on things and even had a dance!!
Everywhere looked amazing and our family and friends are still talking about the wedding and the venue. Lots of them stayed over and were all really happy with the rooms, as were we with the amazing Bridal Suite.
Heaton House is a wonderful venue set in the most beautiful location. The water gardens are perfect for the couples’ photos and we are thrilled with the pictures we have received from Cris Lowis.
Breakfast in the Old Stableyard the next morning was just what everyone needed and a lovely place to see our friends and family off from.
10/10 doesn’t really cover how we feel about having our wedding at Heaton House. Everything was way beyond our expectations. Thank you all for a fabulous weekend.
Chloe & Steph Oversby. 08/11/25.

Thank you so much for your incredible review. Reading your words has truly made our day! We’re over the moon to hear that from the moment you walked through the door, you felt at home and excited for your wedding at Heaton House Farm. It means the world to us that our team could help make the planning stress-free and be there whenever you needed us.

We’re thrilled that the pamper room, bridal suite, breakfast, and even those little “dress-hiding” moments all added to your special day. It’s wonderful to hear your friends and family enjoyed the rooms and the venue as much as you did, and that the water gardens and Cris Lowis’s photography gave you memories to treasure forever.

Knowing that your wedding exceeded your expectations and that you felt completely supported is exactly why we do what we do. Thank you again for letting us be part of such an amazing celebration!

Kind regards, Sarah

Couldn't recommend more

We booked our wedding with Heaton House Farm after seeing it on don't tell the bride! Our wedding was in August 2023 and was the best day of our lives. This venue was incredible not only to look at but also due to the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much, communication was great and help was given when ever needed. I couldn't recommend this venue more. It looks beautiful on pictures, the hen house is an amazing touch and made getting ready smooth and enjoyable. Jo our wedding co ordinator was an angel and always there for help and guidance. Food by Stabletard catering was amazing and our guests still talk about it weeks later. Get booking you won't regret it 💗

Thank you for your 5* review Abigail.

We are so pleased to hear that you had the best day of your lives, it was such an honour to be a part of your special day. I will certainly pass on your comments to the rest of the team who helped make your day as special as it was. The Pamper Room is just the perfect place to start your preparations with your bridal party and the grounds are just a stunning backdrop for those all-important photos. I will also pass on your kind words to Stable Yard Catering regarding the food, they will be so happy to hear that guests are still raving about the food. Please keep in touch and don't be a stranger, we'd love to welcome you back soon. Kind regards, Joanne Lover

Anyone looking for a brilliant wedding

Anyone looking for a brilliant wedding, I strongly recommend Heaton House Farm!
Everything is thought out thoroughly for you, so less stress!
The venue is gorgeous, so less decorations needed.
The suppliers they recommend are such high quality you don't need to look any further, less time spent looking.
The price of the venue is clearly mapped out for you, no difficult calculations required or unwanted add on costs you didn't ask for.
They were honestly brilliant!

6 months after we got married here I…

6 months after we got married here I thought it was about time I wrote my review.
What can I say? The girls that helped to organise our wedding couldn't of been anymore helpful, they're amazing at their jobs and the day couldn't of gone anymore perfect for us. From arriving, to the end of the evening everything was exactly how we imagined. A big thank you to Chloe for all she did for us, she's amazing and such a lovely girl and I'm so glad she was our wedding planner.
Sadly, there was a downside to our wedding which has taken 6 months to resolve... A couple of days ago the security guard working the evening of our wedding has finally been arrested.
To cut a long story short, we realised we were missing a couple of cards which after embarrassingly asking all of our guests we found out we were missing 13 cards totaling nearly £1000 inside of them. For a few days after the wedding we were so upset and couldn't believe this had happened to us after paying £10,500 for just the venue hire. You wouldn't expect something like this to happen at such a prestigious venue.
The venue contract a security company, so the blame got pointed at them instead of Heaton House Farm. The security company did finally give us our stolen money back which took nearly 6 weeks, plus £200 but that's only because I emailed and asked for some sort of compensation. We was even offered a stay in a hotel in Manchester, which when reading the poor trip advisor reviews for the hotel I asked for just the £200 as I think he offered us the hotel stay as a joke. The venue never offered us any compensation, no flowers, not even a card to say sorry that this happened at their venue, and I never actually heard from them since they checked the CCTV which was very disappointing and has left me slightly bitter about the place; especially with them putting so much effort in to make our day so special, we expected them to put just as much effort in with the robbery but sadly didn't.

I would like to raise another issue that left me downhearted with the venue too - We originally booked the venue back in 2019 and the price we booked it at for a Saturday in May 2021 was £7,500 but due to covid we was given options to move our wedding date. The venue offered different options but if you wanted to postpone it was only up to a year after the original date to move it to, and also subject to the most up to date venue hire. All the saturdays were already booked and weekdays didn't suit my partners set holidays from work and with originally booking it on a Saturday in spring/summer that's the day we wanted... regretfully we had to pay an extra £3000 for the luxury of wanting it on the next available Saturday of 2022 which alot of venues honored prices to couples whose weddings got moved due to covid. I am aware businesses were impacted due to covid and they had to get their money back somehow. I am self employed myself and sadly lost 9 months worth of income and couldn't claim for any grants, but I didn't charge my clients extra when I did go back to work.
Overall, we spent alot of money here nearly £20,000 with this venue as we used their caterers too. We got robbed because of covid, and robbed because they contract a security company who don't do enough background checks on their employees.

Our day was perfect, but the above issues has taken the shine off this venue for us.

Hi Kim,

Thank you for your review and feedback.

I am so pleased you had such a wonderful day with us, and that Chloe helped create your perfect wedding. We are so proud to have her as part of our team.

As you say, following your wedding there was a very upsetting and disappointing incident, which in over 24 years of hosting weddings has never happened and was a total shock for us all. After reviewing the CCTV which takes a rather long time due to number of cameras needing to be viewed, and duration of time recorded, as soon as the evidence was discovered, we immediately filed a police report, and let you know instantly about it via phone call that evening. We also alerted the security company who too were proactive at offering you a full reimbursement that same evening, as well as additional compensation. The police told both ourselves and the security not to release the funds until they were further along in the investigation, which myself, the security and police communicated to you directly, and I also informed you later on of the update from the police when they said it was OK for them to release the funds, and the date of payment, which I believe was carried out accurately.

I am very disappointed to read that you felt we didn’t communicate with you after the initial contact. We have emailed and phoned multiple times since the incident, giving you the crime reference number, giving you the security company direct contact details, as well as mine, an update regarding a phone call from the police, an update after giving my witness statement, as well as the police contact details after you had misplaced them. In your replies, you state ‘I would like to thank you for all that you have done for us regarding our missing cards.’ ‘Thanks again for all of your help with our case.’ ‘you've handled my situation very well and that the venue aren't at fault here.’ ‘Thank you for keeping us updated and we would also like to thank you for being so helpful in our situation.’ and ‘Just so you're aware, we haven't got a bad word to say about the venue and everything was absolutely perfect on the day.’ so I am sorry to hear you are now disappointed with how we handled the situation, especially as we did everything we could to be as helpful and quick to respond as possible.

I too would have liked a quicker conclusion instead of waiting 6 months, however, as it was a police investigation, I am sure there is a lot of work they must do behind the scenes, so have not had anything to update you with. We too only received an update from them yesterday alerting us to the same conclusion you received, that the security company was to be reimbursed, as you already had been months ago. I’m sorry you feel that we didn’t put in any effort to help with the investigation, but I can assure you we did, which we informed you about along the way, and the police told us and yourselves (as you confirmed via phone call) that we had been a very proactive business and wished that more businesses were as helpful and quick to respond as we had been.

COVID was a particularly challenging time for our business, a circumstance which we had never been in before, and hope we never have too again! We offered multiple options for postponements, including days and months with a cheaper venue hire. We did also offer a much more cost-effective Saturday during Summer as, like you mention your partners working days offered you little flexibility, but you declined this offer. During the pandemic, each wedding venue offered various options, but the ones we benchmark ourselves with locally offered the same options, or some even did a higher percentage charge when moving dates.

We are thrilled that you had a wonderful time on the day, and wish you both all the best for the future.

Kind regards, Sarah

We recently got married at Heaton House…

We recently got married at Heaton House Farm on 4th July 2021. Our initial date should have been 5 weeks earlier but when the original roadmap was announced back in February we made the decision to move our date in the hope of having a normal wedding. Unfortunately the end of lockdown was extended but we were determined our wedding was still going ahead and we weren't waiting any longer whatever the restrictions in place. Nicola was our dedicated events coordinator and she was just fantastic throughout, every question we had, she came up with an answer or a solution straight away. She even came to the rescue when I had a dress mishap just before walking down the aisle!!
We had the chance to go for food tasting despite having already made our choices, this was brilliant and filled us with so much confidence and excitement that although there would be some restrictions in place, our wedding would still be a brilliant day.
Each and everyone of our guests commented on how amazing the venue was, the staff, the food, it was just fantastic.
Thank you to everyone at Heaton House for making our day perfect!!

My Daughters wedding was amazing .

My Daughters wedding was amazing .
Originally booked for July 2020 and delayed Due to Government incompetence , originally it was annoying and then accepting that this was not our fault or Heaton House Farms.
What can I say apart from Heaton house has a business to run and they can only do their best in the current climate.
We had contact with the venue all the way to the day and they accommodated every eventuality .
Harriot & Nicola were totally exceptional , seriously well organised and were on top of everything all day.
When we had a question they had the answer, even when problems occurred that were nothing to do with the venue , they were superbly helpful.
The day was beyond expectation considering we had the civil ceremony followed by the Hindu ceremony almost right after.
The venue was run like a well oiled machine with superb customer service and the attention to detail was better than expected.
suffice to say everything went off very smoothly and our guests were just amazed at the venue , the staff and the whole day .
We stayed overnight and the rooms were absolutely immaculate followed by a superb breakfast which i would highly recommend to anyone.
Thankyou to the owners and all the staff at Heaton house for a wedding that will be remembered for years to come .
I would happily recommend this venue to anyone who wants a superb day to remember .

Greedy and unprofessional company

We experienced the same problem as previous customers review. Not a place to book your perfect wedding during these difficult times because once they have your money it their rules and you either accept what they give you or loose a large sum of your money. They were forcing us to cancel in May and stated they would keep £250.00 but we were hoping government guidance would change as my daughter was getting married there the end of August 2020. What we did not expect was the amount they would keep because we wanted to wait a little longer before we made a decision to cancel. Later in June we were unable to contact the venue as their telephone lines remained disconnected, the venue has been closed since lock down and remains closed, we had planned for 300 guests and were told via email that we had to reduce our guest numbers to meet government guidance with the same cost for venue or postpone to a date that was only suitable for them, we wanted to wait to see if anything changed with government guidance but was told that if we did not accept the refund minus £3,600 we would incur further unrecoverable costs!!!! these included rent, marketing, salary. We argued that these costs are not directly associated with our wedding but they refused to communicate with us apart from emails. As they were closed we really hoped that the government guidance would change but then at the beginning of August it was announced ‘No Receptions’ We requested a telephone call or a virtual meeting but all was declined. This has been far the most stressful time for us. We were happy for them to keep part of our deposit but to keep £3,600 is just not acceptable considering we have not received a service from the venue at all. Therefore unless you want them to have control I would advise you not to consider this venue during current unsettling times. They think they are the only business affected by COVID. This has caused my daughter and her partner a great amount of stress and as they were both under extreme stress as doctors working on the front lines to saves lives there was no compassion from the venue during these difficult times. They feel it is reasonable to offer a Friday or a Monday next year when we had booked on a Sunday before a bank holiday giving our guests time to travel before and after the wedding. A real lack of professionalism when you refuse to speak to your customers

Dear Sindy,

I am very sorry you felt the need to leave a 1-star rating, along with your review.

Obviously, I cannot comment about an individual wedding due to data protection, however I can give an overall account on how we have dealt with matters during the pandemic.

All weddings due to take place from lockdown at the end of March – until the end of October were offered a free postponement. Nearly every couple have taken us up on the offer to postpone for free, or some wished to have a small ceremony and/or reception for up to 30 people as we were able to accommodate this, and in fact, 2 ceremonies had taken place the weekend you left this review. We offered one wedding the opportunity to have all their money back (minus a small admin charge) as it was incredibly unlikely that events of such a large nature (300 guests) would be able to happen this year, however this was declined, and they wished to continue with their original date.

Should a couple wish to cancel their original date, as per our contract, we have a cancellation policy outlined however we were very considerate given the situation we all found ourselves in and reduced our costs substantially for any couples who may wish to consider cancelling their contract.

The team were working from home throughout this duration, and we kept in regular contact with our couples during this time including monthly updates, as well as responses to any individual queries. Due to this, we received an overwhelming number of positive, thankful emails and social media posts stating how helpful and professional we hadbeen during that time which were been really appreciated by our team who worked hard to deal with many couples and their individual situations.

We wish you and your family all the best.

Kind regards, Sarah

Unprofessional Company

We initially booked my daughter’s wedding at this venue because of the reviews and the reputation it held as a renowned wedding venue.

However, unfortunately, due to the Government guidelines issued in late June regarding no more than 30 people attending a wedding because of Covid-19, we were unable to hold the wedding at the venue. This company has now advised that they will not refund us £2000 as they have incurred this amount in administration expenses. When asked for a breakdown of what these expenses have included, we have not received a response, despite two weeks of requesting this information from them. We even offered them £500 in respect of administration expenses.

The whole situation has been extremely stressful. I certainly would not recommend this venue to anyone, especially during such stressful and trying times. Their stance on the situation has been wholly unjustified and unreasonable.

Anyone dealing with them must also be prepared to go to the expense of hiring a legal team.

I will not recommend anyone to use this venue unless you want to stress and be out of pocket.
