Ordered their blind motors in the uk

Ordered their blind motors in the uk. Arrived in good time. Decided to return them. They asked me to return them to California which would have cost a fortune. Returned them to the uk return address on the original boxes. I requested a full refund. Told this would take max 30 days. Still no refund a month and a half later. Disputed the charge through Amex. Told that as a result, refund cannot be processed.
Just issue a refund. It’s not rocket science.
Really poor service and just no excuse not to refund. Hang on to your money.

Great product

Great product. Apple Home Kit connectivity stopped working for me for some reason but I still love the shade control. Easy to install.

Lots of gripes

Well they do move the blinds. That’s good.

- But is so painfully slow.
- It’s noisy.
- And you can’t just tap the up or down button to incrementally open or close. It’s all the way up or down each time.
- And I can’t set favorite positions. Partially open or closed.
- Lastly eye watering expensive to have so many missteps.

But yes. They open and close my blinds.

Unreliable & expensive - wait for a v2

1. Almost every useful feature requires the smarthub which is not well explained in their marketing materials or when you buy the product

2. Installation is not as easy as they market it, I hope you have a good drill and bits. If you're renting you'll have to fix the holes you make for this as well

3. The battery pack version disconnects its own battery pack when trying to raise my blinds about 50% of the time, causing the battery pack to fall to the floor. A pretty big design flaw if you ask me...

Extremely disappointed with the RYSE…

Extremely disappointed with the RYSE product and the overall experience with this company.
The setup process is confusing and poorly explained, with far too much information that is not clear or consistent. There is also no live customer support available, which makes the installation process incredibly frustrating. I spent nearly three hours trying to install the product and could never get it to work properly.
Considering the price point, the lack of support is unacceptable. Charging this much for a product while offering virtually no real assistance to customers is unreasonable.
When I finally decided to return the product, it became another battle. I had to go back and forth with the company just to process the return, and even then the situation was not handled properly. In the end, I had to file a dispute through my credit card company to recover my money.
Overall, a terrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend RYSE to anyone. Save yourself the time, frustration, and money.

Bluetooth keeps on disconnecting

Bluetooth keeps on disconnecting. Tried buying a smartbridge and not much better. The silver connectors that attach needed chain that come with the units are still too large and get hung up inn the gears and breaks off the chain or snaps the unit off the wall bracket. It’s a poor design that needs to be changed. I have three units and I now replaced the chain connectors and plastic gears on two of the three units. Very disappointed with the $600+ investment.

I purchased one of these units for…

I purchased one of these units for approximately $300 with the intention of installing them throughout my home. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

The installation process took several hours and the product simply would not work. The instructions are confusing and not user-friendly, especially for someone using the product for the first time. For a product at this price point, the setup should be far more straightforward.

What made the situation worse was the lack of customer support. There is no phone number to call for assistance, which is incredibly frustrating when you are trying to troubleshoot a product during installation. When you are spending this kind of money, there should be real-time support available.

After spending hours trying to make it work without any support available, I decided to return the product. I had originally planned to purchase multiple units for my entire house, but after this experience I would not consider buying from this company again.

Overall, the product is overpriced for the experience provided, the instructions are overly complicated, and the lack of accessible customer support makes it very difficult to recommend.

Nice blind motors

I have been buying these blind motors since the first ones that came out with. During the kick starter program. And the old ones still work. I think it has been close to 9 years since i got them.We added more blinds to some of our windows so I have bought more units for those windows. I never have any problems with them and alway work as they are supposed to. I recommend them.

The plastic wheel which moves the chain…

The plastic wheel which moves the chain broke a fin with in a month of installation. After reaching out ot RYSE to tell them I wanted to return the item. They told me it is outside of the 30 day window, but offered technical support.
I don't need support I want to return it, I now question the quality and hassle of this product. Very disappointed for the over $100 price tag.

Expensive...but they work perfectly!

Although the SmartShade product is quite expensive for what it is, I'm very pleased with it. I have ten of them in my rental apartment and they open and close my shades multiple times a day to adjust to the sun and my schedule.

It takes a bit of time to set them up, program the app with groups and schedules, but once you have that set up, they do all the work.

Batteries last a little over a month. Since each one comes with a charging cable, I ordered a 10-port fast USB charger and plug them all in at once. They charge overnight once a month, and then I'm done. Small "price" to pay for wireless motors.

I needed customer support two or three times due to a defective unit, install question, and something else. They were pretty quick to reply and offered up solutions that actually worked, so no issues with support.

My only suggestion would be to engineer a bracket that comes with Command Strips and are designed to accept them. I got them to work in my first apartment with Commend Strips, but when I moved to a higher floor, they wouldn't stay. Maybe a paint/drywall issue in my new place. So, I had to screw them into the wall.

Tip, if you want to use voice control through Google Home with your groups, set up "Automations" through the Home App. It's a bit time consuming (if you have 24 total automations you want to set up. But being able to just say, "Hey Google, set dining room shades to 50%" and have it open or close multiple shades is priceless.

Otherwise, great product. They do the job they're supposed to. I'm very pleased.
