In such a short time Lance has been able to prepare me for my driving test and I was able to pass first time with him as my instructor😁. His diligent teachings of always making sure you drive as a learner with safety and control, built a massive improvement for my driving skills, and made the driving test easy . He constantly believed in me and always wanted to best for me has helped me pass. Im sure im not the best learner as I was always overthinking haha , but one thing im definitely sure is Lance is definitely the best instructor there is out there. And now that I have passed my driving test I’m confident to say my Life after lance is going to change for the better thanks to his amazing knowledge.

Clive was great, fitting in at very short notice. He made the experience enjoyable and calm. Passed first time. Fabulous.

I had such a good experience with Herne hill Driving School, especially with my instructor, Clive. Before I started lessons with him, I had a different instructor, and honestly, Clive is 10 times better. From the very first lesson, he made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed, which made such a difference to my confidence. He quickly picked up on my strengths and weaknesses and tailored each lesson around what I actually needed to work on. There were a few things I used to be really nervous about, but he helped me face them step by step until they didn’t feel scary anymore.

Funny enough, I first found out about Clive because he was driving through the area blasting loud music, which definitely got my attention! I’m actually so glad it did because choosing him as my instructor was the best decision. I highly recommend Herne hill Driving School, especially if you can get Clive as your instructor.

I would like to say that I passed my test today with Clive. I’m not going to say anything about him because I think he has enough reviews. If you want a lesson with him you know who you need to call and who you need to ask for.

Perfect instructor to learn with. After deciding to learn to drive in my mid 40's, I was extremely nervous that I may have left it too late. My instructor Harish, put me at ease straight away, was always professional, friendly and showed great knowledge with real life scenarios and any question I could ask. I passed 1st time and this is purely down to the understanding, encouragement and knowledge of Harish. Now looking forward to signing up for my pass plus!

Passed my test with Bernard! I had an amazing experience. I was coming from another instructor in the school which I did not like at all, and Bernard gave me confidence and calmness. He is really good! always on time and extremely calm while teaching.

He was amazing. He was so sweet and so patient. He took his time and explained in clear detail. He even prayed for me to pass. Absolutely would recommend him.

Clive has been a very effective driving instructor for our son, who passed his driving test first time.

Henry, aged 17, started lessons with Clive in September 2025 and quickly gained confidence. While Henry already had a good understanding of driving principles, having driven an automatic car on private land from a young age and spent years using a racing simulator, transitioning to real-world road driving in a manual car is a very different challenge. Clive handled this transition extremely well.

Clive’s car, a VW Golf, was a real plus. Henry is over 6’1”, and many smaller learner cars simply don’t offer enough legroom. The Golf was comfortable and well-suited to him, which made a noticeable difference. I understand Clive now has a new Audi A3 on the way, which should be equally well suited.

One aspect we particularly liked was Clive allowing learners to listen to music while driving. This felt refreshingly realistic and helped Henry develop confidence and concentration in real-world conditions. Learning to drive with appropriate distractions mirrors how most people actually drive, and it clearly worked well for Henry.

Clive was also flexible in offering longer lessons, sometimes up to four hours, so Henry could practise extensively around the test centre area. In London, where many roads are 20mph, this kind of focused practice is invaluable. That said, Clive is clearly in high demand, and finding suitable slots in his diary can sometimes be challenging.

Ultimately, Clive played a key role in helping Henry build confidence, judgement, and calmness behind the wheel, exactly what a new driver needs. We’re grateful for his support and would recommend him to learners who value confidence-building, practical teaching, and real-world driving skills.

What can I say! CLIVE is the best driving instructor ever. From the moment I met him the very first words to me were “I’m going to make sure you pass”. From that moment being a very anxious person I had all the confidence in the world being in his car doing lessons. I said yep this is the guy I need to help me get my license. I highly recommend him without a doubt. The music the vibe he’s just a very good teacher. To have had him as my instructor I’m truly blessed. He’s in very High demand so make sure you get all your lessons booked in advance with him. Lorelle.

Tye was my instructor and I have to say he was absolutely amazing - would recommend to anyone. He was incredibly knowledgeable and so patient. Beyond just his skills as a driving instructor, he is one of the kindest (and funniest) men I've met. Thank you Tye, for everything!
