Quick and swift transaction. The lady at the counter was extremely professional and helpful.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (Hertz Zurich)…
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (Hertz Zurich) unless you pay extra to take out their premium insurance waiver. They will say they found damage on the car. There was no inspection with a staff member when we collected it and neither was there an inspection when we returned it. You just drop your keys and go. Days later we were told there was a tiny dent on the door that could not be seen in the photos they sent. They now want to charge an additional 240 CHF! If I could attach the photos they sent I would. It is just a scam as we didn't pay the additional premium their staff get commission on.
TERRIBLE COMPANY - DO NOT USE
TERRIBLE COMPANY! We rented a car from Geneva airport and on arrival it had many dents and scratches. We tried to point out more but were waved away with them saying it wouldn't be a problem. It was a dark collection garage and we had 3 children and it was late in the evening so we believed them and stupidly didn't take photos of the car before we left. On our return they pointed out a small mark on the bumper (which we didn't cause) and were told it would need a new bumper at a cost of 1040FR and how would we like to pay? They said as we didn't take photos of every part of the car at collection that the damage must have been caused by us and we have to prove that we didn't do it!!
AVOID THIS COMPANY! Almost all customers have had extra charges for damage which was already there! Total scam.
Extreme distrust in Hertz business ethics
On my last car hire with Hertz Zürich airport I got a damage report and additional cost of 500+ CHF for a few tiny scratches on the one rim (“light” as it says in their report). I have hired many cars and even if had seen those marks on the pick-up I would never have taken the photo for this…
I can only warn anyone to use Hertz again.
Super disappointed and last time Hertz customer

I wish we had read the other reviews…
I wish we had read the other reviews before booking with Hertz ch at Geneva airport. We were another example of charges over 500 fr for a scratch on an alloy wheel sent after we returned to the UK. When I returned the car they did not want to check the car over with me and then claimed that I hadn't signed for it as it was out of hours, it was 14.00 in the afternoon.
Hidden charges!
I received the fine for parking the car in Switzerland incorrectly which I fully agree to and paid immediately, however after a month I saw a 49Eur charge on my card from Hertz which appears they charge you whenever authorities ask for information from them(there was no need for that information, cause I paid the fine the same day to authorities). So basically the 2 minutes they spend to check the driver's data and send that to authorities cost 49Eur for Hertz!! That's an outrageous way to earn money and I have never been informed about this charge before renting a car. It seems they have additional revenue streams which are not car rentals and insurance that customers are not informed about. Very disappointed and will never use Hertz again, not to be surprised again by some unfair hidden fees.
There appears to be a theme among many…
There appears to be a theme among many of the reviews. Beware Hertz.ch. I rented on line through a Hertz website from the US - however, with any associated problem Hertz US disavows any involvement and directs you to deal with the individual (to my understanding ) franchise. My issues? Twofold. First, I had ordered a small car but was given an old SUV (which I did not want). Second, and most importantly, my online contract clearly stated that the final quote included all fees and taxes. It did not - and I was charged nearly $100 more for the rental than quoted. This in my mind was terribly dishonest and unacceptable in any setting. I cannot imaging ever using Hertz again, either in Europe or the US.
Watch out
Watch out! I handed the car after office hours. They charged me CHF 600 for damage that was already present at checkout (and had been indicated in the initial checkout form). After months of battling with their department I gave up. Terrible experience!
Avoid Hertz Geneva Airport or prepare to pay large unauthorised charges, with no recourse
Beware of Hertz Geneva Airport Swiss Side and avoid at all costs. You may be a loyal Hertz customer, as I am, but this franchise brings shame on the Hertz worldwide brand. You will run a high risk of incurring severe financial losses if you rent from this franchise and you will have no recourse to a refund or compensation whether or not you are a Hertz gold member.
I have had great experiences from Hertz worldwide at many different offices, but this operation is practicing a systematic scheme to take unauthorised money from customers by declaring faults which have not been correctly recorded on check out or simply do not exist. They will take large sums from you after you have departed the airport and they will decline to inspect the vehicle on return to facilitate this. In addition, they will fail to answer your emails and refuse to take part in any meaningful discussion. From my investigations with other victims, the fees often run to thousands of CHF. To be clear, it won't matter what evidence you have, photographs, videos etc, check in or check out reports as you will still be charged, because this charging operation is by it's nature deliberate. A PARTICULAR FAVOURITE IS TO CHARGE LARGE SUMS FOR SMALL MARKS ON ALLOY WHEELS WHICH WERE PRESENT AT THE START OF THE RENTAL. Read all the reviews on this and other sites and you will see a clear pattern of behaviour here. Go to other companies (not Thrifty as it's the same company at this airport) and pay slightly more if you have to.
Efficient and Friendly
Car renting can be really transactional with many points of frictions. Hertz Geneva was really different, the process was smooth and people were really trying to make it customer friendly i.e. fair but friendly.
Hertz Geneva, simply the pits
I use Hertz routinely and have a gold card. Geneva airport experience usually not good, this time was hopeless. Car not ready when arrived, took ages to process booking, couldn't provide car I wanted, wouldn't upgrade, ended up with auto instead of manual. Staff member patronising and rude, no respect whatsoever and no recognition of customer loyalty. Very damaging Hertz, and it's not the first time in Geneva, there are clearly major staff issues, but it will be the last time for me.
Whereas Hertz Palma airport, simply the best car hire experience ever, every time.
Trying to charge me £750 for a minor…
Trying to charge me £750 for a minor scuff on the wheel. Would cost them less than £50 to fix. Customer service and complaints teams behave appallingly. Will never use them again and will be taking legal action
Geneva 1 week rental
I booked a Ford Mondeo from 30th March to 6th of April. Car was paid in advance.
When I arrived Geneva Airport the Car was ready. It was not a Mondeo but a BMW 320X. There was not any hidden prices when the car was returned and everything went smooth.
Booked through Holiday Autos
Booked through Holiday Autos. At desk they told me I needed breakdown cover. I didn't check my paperwork, and agreed. Car was faulty. Just managed to get back after 6 days hire. Didn't refuel as worried car would not restart. I think fuel contamination. No compensation for faulty car. Pointed out fraudulent sale of breakdown cover. They offered to remove but add charge for emergency fuel. Hertz customer service said sorry for frustrations.....
Outrageous charge for scratch on wheel …
Outrageous charge for scratch on wheel hubcap.
I haven't given them a 1* as the service when we arrived was nice and the car was luxurious. My complaint is that they charged £520 for a scratch on a wheel hubcap which can't cost them more than £60. We have separate insurance which is eventually paying out, but after a fight.
