Highly customizable lessons
HH offers a pretty straightforward tutoring session. Each lesson is completely different and unique, so it's kind of hard to actually judge how your experience will go, because it's taught by volunteers, who each teach in their own personal way and style, combined with your own way of learning.
However, they're all very flexible in when where and how you meet, and the lessons are very customizable to your specific wants and needs.

Great First Experience with HH Japanese Support Class !
I joined the free Japanese class for the first time last Friday, and it was such a great experience! My first impression was that the teacher was very kind and patient. She managed the class time professionally and made me feel comfortable right from the start.
During the first session, we introduced ourselves, talked about our learning obstacles, and got to know each other better. What impressed me the most was when the teacher said I could message her anytime if I had questions and I didn’t need to worry about the time. That level of support is really amazing, especially since I joined only the support class.
Thank you so much, HH Japanese, for providing such a warm and supportive environment for foreigners like me to study Japanese!
And special thanks to Yamaguchi-sensei for being such a kind and dedicated teacher!

I live in the Philippines and they can let you take their online class which is really convenient. The coordinator was kind and helped me set up fast on picking out the right tutor for me. My tutor is really easy to talk to, she and I planned my goals and lessons for the next meeting. Right now I do one class a week but I’m planning to add more. I've also joined their support class and it’s been a big help. This site’s really good at giving the support you need. ❤️

A New Beginner's Review
As a beginner, it was very difficult to pick up this course. A beginner is supposed to know nothing about Japanese. As time is quite rushed that we are unable to catch up the day to day lessons, especially the Japanese characters. Fortunately, there is no time limit to learn and we are able to pick it up beat by beat. So, please leave all the links opened for us. Thank you. Besides, I have shown it to one of my friends who learned Japanese before. He said it was quite different from what he studied in the evening language school. Except for the beginning of learning characters for the first few lessons, thereafter, all materials were different and were fresh to him when he was studying Japanese as a beginner.

Finally after years I decided to start. Naoteru helped me at the beginning through a call to understand better my level of Japanese and that I was looking for in a tutor, and Manami is now teaching me and I couldn't be more grateful. I must say, it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The course structure is well-organized, guiding learners through each lesson with clear objectives and comprehensive content. The interactive exercises and quizzes made the learning process engaging and reinforced the concepts effectively.
The lessons were informative and covered a wide range of topics, from basic vocabulary to more complex grammatical structures. The explanations were clear, and the examples provided were relevant and easy to understand.
The course incorporated various interactive elements that made learning enjoyable. The mix of audio clips, quizzes, and real-life conversation examples helped solidify my understanding of the language.
Aside from these, I appreciated the cultural notes included in the lessons, as they gave context to the language and helped me understand how to use it appropriately in real-life situations.
While the video content is valuable, I noticed that subtitles were not embedded directly into the videos. It would greatly enhance the learning experience if subtitles were available within the video itself, rather than requiring learners to browse the site to read them. This change would make it easier for learners to follow along, especially for those who benefit from seeing both the spoken and written words simultaneously.
