The Holiday Inn Express on Garth Rd
The Holiday Inn Express on Garth Rd, Baytown, Tx.. The Staff is really polite but the attention to detail ie maintenance, needs extreme attention!! As I've walked thru this hotel making notes of pros and cons, it's apparent that, the General Manager doesn't care enough to put money back into her hotel. When I sit in the dining area, the damaged sheet rock screams out at me. I mean, how much time and money does it take to repair a couple of patches? Also, the pool gate need new locks and the outer doors to the hotel needs repair! I have another week here, so I will be dropping another review soon.

To all bookers and loyal members - do not cancel bookings and rebook at a different price/ points amount as they will not refund you!!!!!! Even as a loyal regular member which is crazy and disappointing!
Very friendly and helpful
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Tudor Road, Exeter. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I had a problem with the parking app which the staff resolved immediately. Excellent service and a good price.
Impressive super efficiency in helping their guests!
I was extremely impressed with staff’s super efficiency in dealing with guests’ problems at Holiday Inn Express Windsor.
I was kept informed at every step of the way.
I had stayed at this hotel a few times in the past having had good impression about this hotel without experiencing any problems.
During my latest visit, I have had an opportunity to experience problem solving skills coming from the top leader of this hotel.
I felt my long term loyalty was rewarded at this hotel and I felt very lucky to be able to stay at this hotel once again.
I am more than happy to recommend this hotel to any future guests!
This hotel’s friendly helpful staff will look after you very well for sure!
Thank you very much for your tremendous help to me!
See you next time!
Nightmare hotel
I’m a diamond elite member all I have to say avoid this hotel like the plague it’s a shame because some of the staff are nice and some of the staff are like we don’t care. My bathroom flooded and I was in room 200 which on the stairway lift oh my God the amount of traffic that goes through the it is ridiculously stupid because people slam the doors. They don’t have things that soft clothes on the doors every time someone went past my roomhave a door slammed or people shouting.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Exton PA
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Exton PA on May 29-May 31. We arrived on the evening of May 29. Check in was easy and we were given room 230. We arrived at the room and on the surface everything seemed to be fine. We turned on the TV and noticed that the picture was very dark and hard to see. Could not find a way to adjust. Next we sprayed the room with lysol, but as the evening progressed we started to notice bed bugs (or little black bugs) on the white sheet/comforter. We sprayed some more. On day two, we seemed to notice more of the bugs. In addition to the bugs a group of guests checked in and were given rooms down the hall from us. They were loud, in and out of their rooms slamming doors, hanging in the hall, yelling and running up and down the halls. This went on from early evening until close to midnight. Was very disturbing. At the time of check-out, when asked how was our stay, we did not voice our complaints due to the fact there were a number of guests checking in at that time and we did not want to discourage their stay.
mixed review
We booked a room to test if we wanted to spend another night later in the week. All was fine the first night except that there were no grab bars in the toilet area. So we reserved a second night later and that room was also lacking grab bars as expected in the requested handicap room. The first breakfast didn't include cinnamon buns but the second did.
Disgusting
after a short encounter at the holiday inn express Gateshead, I feel I have no option but to ensure others don't face the terrible customer service received. I raised my issue with the manager Victoria Yorke, who was beyond rude, with no resolution and a stinking attitude. Its such a shame that staff let this stay down, the only staff in the hotel, who seemed to care, are the cleaning staff, all very happy and willing to assist whenever possible!
Worst place to stay, Holiday inn express
I booked a stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Cardiff Bay for my visiting parents, and travelled four hours to the hotel. Unfortunately, the stay was far from what I expected, and we encountered several serious issues:
1. Inaccessible Due to Faulty Lift
The elevator was not working during our stay. While this might be manageable for an average guest, for a person with severe arthritis it was a major issue.
We were allocated a room in the second floor, requiring her to climb two flights of stairs – a painful and challenging task.
When we asked for an alternative, we were told none was available in our room type. Eventually, we were moved to room first floor, still so uncomfortable for a person with the knee problem.
It’s surprising that a hotel had no emergency lift or proper accessibility support for guests with mobility issues. The lift remained out of order throughout our stay, forcing my mother to repeatedly go up and down stairs in pain.
2. Unbearably Hot Room
The room was very hot and lacked proper temperature control. The reception provided a fan, but it was not functioning. As a result, we were unable to sleep comfortably. This is a very old hotel in the need of renovation.
3. Chaotic Breakfast Service
The breakfast experience was disappointing. The hot food ran out quickly and was not replenished in a timely manner. The hotel seemed unprepared for a full house, leading to long waits, visible frustration among guests, and arguments between guests and staff. I am sure any school term holidays the hotel must be full in the past, how could they got the estimation so wrong.
Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing, especially given the purpose of the trip – to give my family a relaxing stay. I expected much better from a brand I’ve been loyal to for years; the holiday ended up in chaos.
THE HOTEL DID NOT COMPENSATE DESPITE ACKNOWLEDGING BELOW STANDARD FACILITY WERE PROVIDED. IT SHOWED NO EMPATHY TOWARDS CUSTOMER PROBLEMS.
HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
What horrible customer service from this Hotel.
This is the Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville, FL South.
I made a reservation more than a week in advance for the night of May 25. I used my points and added the name of a friend who was traveling.
I was not made aware of any requirements to “prove” that this was a legitimate reservation as I received a confirmation email from your reservations department with my name on it and the name of the person who was going to staying that night.
On the evening of May 25, I received a phone call from my friend who informed me that the hotel had sent me a form that I needed to fill out in order to verify my reservation.
I spoke with the front desk clerk’s supervisor (I assume as my friend informed me that the original person she talked to got someone else to speak with her).
He explained to me that they have had issues with fraud and required this information and that they had sent me an email several hours ago.
I explained that I was on vacation on the beach. He told me that most people check their smart phones for messages. Oh, I see. My fault for not checking my phone on vacation.
We got into a rather heated exchange as I challenged him with the stupidity of his comments regarding my responsibility to check my smart phone. I explained that I had booked this through your central reservation system and he proceeded to tell me that if I had called the hotel directly this should not have been a problem and I would have been made aware of their policy requiring proof that I authorized this despite the fact that we had a printed confirmation number and a piece of paper with your logo on it.
Once again, my fault for not contacting this hotel directly.
He got pissed off at me and said he would not honor the reservation even if I filled out the form and sent it in.
As an IHG Platinum member I am very impressed with your service. The guy I spoke with told me that he used to be in the intelligence field (must have been in the moron division of the idiot branch of our government). He certainly has no intelligence when it comes to customer service as he left my friend in a position where she had no hotel reservation for the night. Fortunately, one of your nearby competitors had rooms available so the need for Holiday Inn Express no longer exists. What shitty customer service from a low level employee who can’t handle an upset customer. He will more than likely lie and say that I cursed him out and was yelling. Absolutely not true.
Had to call IHG to get my rewards point put back on my account.
What a classy hotel and management this place has. I would rather sleep in the street than stay at a place with people who treat customers this way.
I contacted customer service and they told me the hotel had 48 hours to respond. My expectations were met as they did not respond.
UK traveller Not impressed…
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in New Orleans. While I've had good experiences with this chain before, this particular stay was a bit disappointing.
On the positive side, the receptionists were very nice and accommodating. They stored our bags so we could explore the city while waiting for check-in, and the location is good—close to the French Quarter, which made it easy to get around.
However, the room left much to be desired. The door was sticky and didn't close properly, which felt like a security concern. The decor was dated with dark brown furniture and an olive green feature wall, awful textured coating to the walls and ceiling giving it a 1970s vibe. There were no pictures on the walls, making it feel bland and uninspiring.
The bathroom was extremely small, with just a shower and toilet. The basin was in the main room, which wasn't convenient. The sliding door was necessary due to the limited space, but the overall setup was not great.
Breakfast is something we really look forward to when we travel, and this was a letdown. The breakfast setup was disappointing—paper plates, plastic cutlery, and paper cups really took away from the experience, reminding me of a childerns birthday party. The food options were not up to the standard we hoped for, especially for a British traveller used to a proper cooked breakfast. The one highlight was the automatic pancake machine, which was fun and a small silver lining.
Another issue was the fridge in the room. The outer cabinet door had a broken hinge and felt like it would fall off. Plus, the fridge door opened in the opposite direction, making it awkward to access. It’s a small thing but added to the inconvenience.
The outdoor pool was more like a small, dirty puddle than a pool, which was disappointing given the size of the hotel and the number of guests.
Overall, I’d give it 1 star. The location and staff were good, but the room and breakfast experience definitely need an update.
I wouldn’t recommend Holiday Inn Express for UK travellers visiting the USA based on this experience, and I’d be unlikely to stay here again.
I have noticed that Holiday inn express does not reply to any feedback left by customers who have stayed with them. This shows a lack of care or interest in the experience they provide.
Tatty and Poor customer service
Paid a lot of money for this hotel, it worked well with visiting the 02 and I have visited the holiday inn express chain before so felt confident. The bed was awful and didn’t sleep at all, we had a double Sofa bed made up for the kids with a single quilt which wasn’t big enough. The bathroom was very grubby and needs a revamp badly! now the breakfast…. The hot selection was cold and tasteless, the toasters are fit for the bin! 5 minutes to toast when you already have cold food isn’t good enough!
On checkout I did tell receptionist about our experience and she said that’s unusual and did I want a bar of chocolate to compensate?? never had that offer of compensation before which I thought was a bit of a joke! No more Holiday Inn express for us after this.

Holiday Inn Express Payment Dispute
My son booked Several Nights at Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Airport for a course and had to cancel cause my company had also booked it. Even though he cancelled well in time the Holiday Inn has taken his money from his card. Visa say they have taken his money but Holiday Inn are denying its them and refuse to refund although they are not supposed to take any money till the day of arrival.
He now has a several month battle to reclaim his money back with the help of the Visa company. Holiday Inn Express Glasgow are a disgraceful company.

Had a great stay when we decided to stay in London for a few days, reliable and friendly
sad experience in Holiday inn Birmingham
I was so sad about my experience in Holiday inn Birmingham, They didnt clean our room and we report this to the reception, the worst thing is the receptionist told us its our fault because we did not hang the tag on the door, we booked 2 rooms , the other room of our parents were cleaned without tag ,soI think its not an explanation, I mean I do not blame the room service cause everyone made mistakes, but I do feel sad that when I asked the receptionist to empty my bin and give me some toilets paper asap, they just ignore my request, We went down the 2nd time to tell them (the 2 male receptionist ) our need, it is enough for me to suffer the smell from my one year old son's nappy, and it do really makes me feel depressed after going through these, I hope everyone can avoid to stay in this hotel, I'm not sure but I think they do have some racist staff and culture there
My wife and I once again had a…
My wife and I once again had a wonderful 4 nights stay at the Express by Holiday in at Limehouse, London.
We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions and each time the managers and all the staff never fail to look after us with their continuing devotion to making sure that our stay is perfect, which it is.
So to Pedro and all of the staff please keep up the great work and we will see you again very soon.
Not a pleasant stay experience at this hotel
We made a reservation at Holiday Inn Express in Greencastle Indiana for an overnight travel stop. We base our stays on reviews from other travelers and they were favorable. But we were very disappointed with this hotel for it was older and had a musty smell to the room and overall the hotel was unappealing and needs renovated. We would not recommend this hotel to future guests. Just to clarify our review, we have always chosen a Holiday Inn Express for our stays for generally they are pretty consistent with being favorable, but not this location in our above review.
Horrible
Horrible! This is the location on Cabot Rd in the business park. If I could give it minus 5-stars, I would. You can't be sure that you'll actually get the room you reserved.
I made reservations months ago. It was one of the few hotels that offer King-sized handicap accessible rooms. I reserved a king-size handicap accessible room. We were planning to arrive late at night or very early morning the next day on the first day of our booking.
A few days before our trip I called the hotel & informed them that we'd be arriving very late on check-in day or early the next day. I explained that I had reserved a king-size handicap accessible room & was calling to assure that the room would be held for our arrival because I need an accessible room & a king-size bed.
When we arrived we were given keys & we went to the room and found a queen-size bed & an extremely small room. When we returned to the check-in desk, we were told that was the only room they had available. They were fully booked & this was the only room they had available.
They suggested we stay in the queen room & they would try to get us a king accessible room. While we were out, they called us to ask some questions. There were no additional calls during the time we were away from the hotel. When we returned that evening & asked if they had found us a king room, they claimed that they had found one & tried to call us, but there was no answer. That's bull. We were in a single, confined location & had our phones with us the entire time. A second call never came in.
So we were stuck once again with the queen room. We had reserved the king room for 3 nights, but canceled the third night. My husband & I are very tall. We need a king-sized bed, and I need accessible facilities. The bed was impossible to sleep in. Not only was it way too small for us, but the mattress would swing wildly side to side if one of us moved the slightest bit. It would immediately wake us both up if one of us moved.
The room was the smallest room we have ever seen. We even stayed in a Microtel years ago that was bigger than this room. There was literally 1 1/2 feet between the bottom of the bed & the tables that lined the entire opposite wall.
Breakfast was a joke. The eggs were dried up & looked so bad that we thought we might get sick if we ate them. The sausages were so hard, the knife broke when trying to slice into it. There were so dry cereal choices & the option of making waffles. I don't care for the taste of the waffle batter because it's sickeningly sweet. They also had coffee that tasted like dishwater with a little cream added.
We stay in Bucks County frequently because we have a lot of family in the area. We will never stay at this place again. It was clean & the staff were very nice, but those are the only compliments we can offer.
They did not give us the room we reserved, even though I called shortly before our trip and asked that they hold the room we reserved because we were arriving late. The food was disgusting. We're convinced that because people refuse to eat it, they just put it back in the refrigerator & bring it out again the next day. The room we were given was tiny, leaving barely any area to move around without bumping into other furniture. The bed was impossible to sleep in, not just because it was too small but also because the foundation's springs were completely shot & the bed swung back & forth wildly. The heater was loud & the temperature adjustment had to be off. The room was either broiling hot (and dry) or cold if we adjusted the thermostat down one degree.
When they were unable to find us a room with a king-size bed on the second night, we were told that they would give us a discount. They didn't. The receipt the hotel gave us was under $200.00. The receipt that came in from our Visa & was exactly what had
been quoted when I made the reservation for 3 nights, plus they had the gaul to keep the original $100 security deposit, which should have been applied to the bill, so we were overcharged with a total bill of close to $600.00. We will most certainly dispute the charges. Don't stay here. It was a miserable stay, they wouldn't provide the room we reserved, the place was tiny, the bed old & the springs were completely shot, the food was inedible & they overcharged us, rather than give us the discount offered. I'd recommend others avoid it at all costs.
