Cannot recommend.

Ordered slips, waited a while, nothing, contacted the owner who told me the slips were in transit, waited a while.. - then I was eventually told they were at the local depot of the transport company awaiting delivery to my address. Waited a while...I eventually phoned the distribution company, pallex, got the name of the local distribution depot, phoned them, and they had nothing for my postcode. I even asked them to check back over the past week - nothing. I double checked with pallex who told me the only local distribution depot was that one, it would not be sent through any other depot. Higgins gave some excuse about it being a different department of pallex (I checked this with pallex and they disagreed).
Anyway, Id had enough by this point so requested a refund. This was the only part that went well. I had a refund email that day, and the money was back in my account on exactly the tenth working day. So I was happy for the refund but I'm convinced no consignment was sent.

At Higgins we do not take orders and not dispatch them with transport companies. Occasionally we do get delivery delays and these we are unable to foresee. We sincerely apologise that you had a difficulty in delivery and that you felt you had to cancel the order for a refund. Pall-ex in this case do have different sections of the company. And we understand why this could be confusing to a customer making their own investigations. We have an Account Manager so it is easy for us to get an update. But I can assure you that you couldn't have got through to the correct section of Pall-ex to get an update. Not through the the correct section then of course they wouldn've have records of the delivery or booking. It's like calling TNT for a DPD delivery.
We are sorry that you had to cancel and the inconvenience this has caused you. And are glad that you received your refund in full as you requested. Regards, Higgins Team

Fraudulent Company

This is a fraudulent set up. Takes the order and your money and does not deliver the goods. Will string you along with lies and more lies to avoid refunding you even up to the point of agreeing to refund and confirming the refund has been processed; but no refund. DO NOT ORDER - company is also listed as insolvent on company house records. Good reviews are false.
Neil Greenwood’s reply below is a continuation of the BS. Just process the refund!
FURTHER UPDATE:6 weeks has passed now since Greenwood stated that he issued a refund to my card. No credit has been received and he is still insisting that he did it. His payment provider has also confirmed that no credit has been made. There is no end to his deception. He cannot be trusted to tell the truth at all!
FURTHER UPDATE: Still no refund, Neil is still lying! I have reported him on actionfraud.police.uk. I would encourage all Higgins’ victims to report him on this site so the police investigate all his fraud activities.
FINAL UPDATE:
We finally got our money back through our bank’s action which he fought, (chargeback). I am glad that as a result of my actions his card processing company cancelled his contract with them. Hopefully this will help reduce the amount of people falling victim to him.

We do not control Trust Pilot who are an independent review system. Customers can and do leave good and bad reviews depending on their experiences. Trustpilot control fake reviews and I'm sure any fake bad or good reviews are deleted. We certainly haven't faked any of our good reviews. At Higgins we believe customers should have these review facilities to call on if unhappy or happy with a service. But calling us fraudulent and insolvent is very much incorrect. Anyone can see Companies House records and can see for themselves we are not insolvent. We always refund customers that have requested a refund. Some refunds take longer than others for specific reasons. We have processed your refund and it is a card reversal refund. Not instantaneous as an online bank transfer. You have received proof of this refund. We even have emails from you confirming the card payment provider has also confirmed the refund was actioned to you. But you are still saying you haven't received the funds. As a result we have recently given
you the opportunity to have a second refund by online bank transfer while we investigate further with the banks. You refused to give us your banking details as you said you didn't trust us with them. But instead asked us to pay you money through Western Union service. A service that if it is found that you did receive your original refund. We can never recall back the money. We welcome an Action Fraud investigation as have nothing to hide, and have all correspondence in relation to this matter on file. We hope that this matter is cleared up asap. Your vendetta against our company over the late delivery of your order over social media and reviews sites has been noted. We have many times sincerely apologised for this delay causing the initial inconvenience to you. Your comments on emails have been flagged and will be addressed internally. Regards, Higgins Team.

AVOID. 6 months of continuous excuses and lies. Still no product.

It is with regret that I have to write this review but I'm left with little to no choice. 6 months, every lie, reason, excuse, answer, disaster, car crash, break down, family emergency under the sun and it still hasn't stopped to this day. You have to be very intelligent to lie well and unfortunately for Neil, he isn't. You can't tell the same lie twice and yet Neil repeatedly does so. I have every excuse and lie recorded from Niel over the last 6 months, it makes for depressingly sad and comical reading. After 6 months of chasing for my £5k of goods; in the Country, not in the Country, in customs, not in customs, private haulage companies going completely missing, it became totally farcical and embarrassing for me to even ask any more so I gave up. Now the refund lies begin, and go on, and on, and on. They will promise you a refund, make a big deal of it too, you'll get a confirmation email but you won't get your money back until you address the issues with your own bank.
The delays and lies, my want to believe in someone who presents himself well have actually cost me three fold the order value in completion penalties the product was intended for. I will be pursuing Higgins for damages.
I do wonder if Neil is a Con "Artist", it is an intended scam, perhaps a wildly disorganised and troubled man struggling for cash flow or they're simply incapable of running a business. I sympathise with other reviewers here, and, if you've already purchased, I recommend you get out, get out now, if you're thinking about purchasing after reading this and other reviewers, good luck.
To Neil and all at Higgins, please think of better excuses (preferably real) in response to this review than your others. Please try to not further purjure yourselves as well, it will be used against you.
Roll on the desperate squirming response.

Addition. The Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) issued on 22nd of February 2022 might tell you all, all you need to know.

At all times throughout this process you were informed you could cancel and have a full refund at any time. You chose to stick with it, through the importers issues with getting the product to you. We updated you as quickly as we good with the best information at hand at the time of the information requests. Long story short you ended up cancelling your order and Higgins has refunded you in full with our sincere apologies.
In regards to your comments that our company in insolvent. Can you please read up on a CVA. This is not insolvent. The HMRC have checked our books and deemed us insolvent. We have had a few covid lockdown related issues to still resolve from 2021 and these are being resolved in the best way possible. Many thanks, Higgins Team

neil has never fulfilled my order

neil has never fulfilled my order. been chasing for refund for months. constant excuses. I've looked on the website and his Google review has changing from 3.7 to 5.0 all the old bad reviews have gone. never pay a company by direct debit. no
protection otherwise.

NEIL/HIGGINS CLADDING - TOTAL SCAM!!!

NEIL is a scam. Plain and simple.
All reviews for missing goods/refunds are true. He stole nearly 2k from me too. Yes, stole, because 5 months later he still hasn’t refunded my money and keeps lying and lying.
Don’t waste your time on emails and calls because the lies and excuses will be endless - maybe deal with that criminal face to face, see if he can do his show then.

THIEF!!!!

THIEF, LIAR, CONMAN
Have to give a star to write review but deserves minus!!!

Ordered goods in May 2021which were ACTUALLY delivered but were not as described on website. Neil/Higgins accepted this and collected goods, promising refund which has never been paid.

Made a second order in May 2021 with an agreed delivery date of July 2021. Goods were not delivered despite numerous phone calls and 18 excuse emails from Neil. In August 2021, he promised he would action a refund and this was never received. He then ignored all my emails and blocked all my phone calls.

Tried using a third party debt collection agency as advised by the Government website who he also managed to stall and lie to.

December 2021, small claims court proceedings were issued which he didn't respond to.
In January 2022, a CCJ was issued against him, again no response from Neil.

On 22 February, the company had a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement) approved meaning INSOLVENCY! Details can be found on the Companies House/ GOV.uk website.

Unfortunately, the company dealing with the CVA rely on Neil Greenwood to list their creditors and I was not included as I suspect a lot of other dissatisfied customers aren't!

I have now contacted Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners and requested to be added to the list of creditors.
I have been informed by them that I will only receive 20% of my outstanding debt of £4600.

The total debt on the schedule of creditors is £76,000 (and they say crime doesn't pay!)

I would advise anybody who has also had money stolen by him to contact Addison Brookes and be added to the list of creditors as soon as possible.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!

Hi Andy, Higgins agrees with review sites. Giving customers the opportunity to give good or bad reviews on their experiences with companies. But after reading your reviews we have never read such a pack of lies as you have just written. For the benefit of anyone reading this. These are the facts.
1. First order was delivered (which confirms we are NOT a scam company). You yourself, I have admitting on email that your customer is very awkward and had just changed her mind on the colour of the product. On receiving the order back and inspecting it we found the product delivered was as advertised, but we still accepted the return.
2. The second order was delayed getting delivered as it was subject to a number of issues such as a government lockdown period due to the covid pandemic and issues at transport companies due to lack of artic vehicle drivers caused by the Brexit ‘lack of drivers fiasco’ due to foreign drivers visa's to work in the UK. You couldn't wait any longer for the order and cancelled. Issue being that you cancelled during a lockdown period and our company was basically closed for that period of time. You issued instructions through a debt agency called Caledonia Group Services Ltd and they issued a debt company called Vanguard Partners to collect the debt due to you. As you couldn't wait for the lockdown period to end. When it did end, we contacted Vanguard and made arrangements to pay the debt. The debt was paid in FULL on 29th January 2022. You know this full well as I have correspondence from Vanguard Partners that you had been informed that the debt had been paid in full.
However, knowing that we were paying the debt and were paying it, you still processed an official court ‘Money Claim’ against us. Against the recommendation of the debt company you had employed, you refused to cancel this money claim knowing that you have been paid in full. This money claim wasn't stopped by yourself and you allowed it to go to court for a CCJ to be issued. We didn’t dispute the CCJ claim at the time as we were asked not to by your debt company as they would speak to you about cancelling it. We are currently processing a counter claim with the courts giving evidence that the debt was paid in full before the CCJ and that you had instructed Vanguard Parners through Caledonian to collect the debt. Thus you have made a fraudulent money claim through the courts and allowed it to continue. We will get the CCJ struck off and make the courts fully aware of the matter.
I have been told by the debt company you employed that you are unhappy about paying the service fee you agreed with them, when you took out the contract them and are fighting them about this matter. And this maybe the reason why you didn't withdraw the claim against Higgins. But we have paid the debt to you in full and the courts will decide the matter and withdraw the CCJ. We will then counter claim against you for the court fees paid and time taken to resolve the matter. And most likely defamation against our company in a separate case.
Higgins didn't respond to the original court papers as Vanguard Partners told us (to which we have evidence) that they would be talking to you to drop the case as you have been paid back in full.
So, I ask anyone reading this. How are we theives, liars and conmen.
On the CVA front. During the first 2 lockdowns we had 3 x suppliers close down on us permanently. Like 1000's of other companies in the UK and Europe they weren't able to keep trading and afloat in the covid pandemic lockdowns environment. Higgins lost a massive amount of money with these suppliers who didn't refund us before they closed. A CVA is a company voluntary arrangement to ensure all parties are paid back IN FULL what they paid us in a legal controlled manner agreed by all parties. It is not insolvency. Both the CVA company Anderson Brookes and the HMRC have checked our accounts before issuing a CVA and deemed our company solvent. If we had gone insolvent like a lot of companies then no one would get anything back. So please check your facts before giving this type of information out on your reviews. Your company wasn't added to the CVA as you had already been paid back in full.
Anderson Brookes have been instructed that all our debtors will be paid back in full. This is what a CVA is. They wouldn't have confirmed you will only get back 20%. But again, you have been paid back in full. So why is this relevant for you unless just to make a point in a vendetta against our company. A fact that has been made known in our claim to get the CCJ against us dropped. You placing a claim with the CVA company knowing you have been paid in full is in fact a Fraudulent claim against our company. They will also be receiving evidence of this.

Extremely helpful at short notice

I understand from a few of the reviews that the business, like many others, has been affected by Covid - I have to say though that my recent experience has been excellent. We required some Brick Slips at short notice and the business really stepped up to deliver for us. So have to say nothing but very good and positive things about the company.

You state that I did a legal action shortly after cancelling my order unfortunately this has been ongoing for weeks and weeks and you promised a refund around six weeks ago.

Very helpful company

I placed an order just before Christmas and they tried to get it to me in the run up to Christmas but, due to the pandemic and shortage of drivers they didn’t quite make it.
The kept in constant contact and were most helpful and apologetic for a situation beyond their control.
The materials were delivered in the New Year and were top quality, the project went well and the customer was very happy.
Thanks again for all of your help and advice, I will definitely be using you again.

Awful experience

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Owed thousands of ££'s for goods that were never received - have sent bailiffs to recover and have now received confirmation that company is insolvent! You are throwing money down the drain ordering with these crooks.

Can send copy of Higgins voluntary CVA to anyone interested...

Following an order which i made on November 17th and have paid for. I have contacted Neil on many occasions and have constantly been told there is a problem with delivery. It is now Jan 8th 2021 and no one is coming back to me. From seeing the previous reviews this seems to be a common trait with this company. Very disappointed and I feel this needs to be taken futher.
