Hills Home Retractable Clothesline…
I bought a “Hills Everyday Retracting Clothesline”, including the mount pole, in-ground socket and removal pole five years ago. I have had continuous problems with it. Two lines snapped a couple of years ago and another snapped last year. The handle to change the lines to the tightest tension no longer works, it’s difficult to retract contributing to the lines breaking. It’s rusting and looks shabby.
The package states LIFETIME WARRANTY boldly on the box. This is very misleading. I contacted Hills a couple of years ago to complain when the lines broke and included photos showing how the cabinet was deteriorating and rusting. Their response was to send me replacements for the broken lines.
Of course my last Hills Retracting Clothesline, in my previous home that dated back several decades, never rusted. It wasn’t full of light cheap metal.
I strongly advise against buying this product if you want an efficient smart looking clothesline in your backyard for longer than a few years!
