BIG SCAM! Even 1 start is to much.
Even 1 start is to much.
it's a 'legal' scam, they add the Inactive Account term of 'services'. And they charge you everymonth at least 30USD. And if they charge your coin in the bear market, THEY make extra profit in the bull market, and you already lost al your assest.
there standard comment: it's in our terms of service.
DON'T EVER OPEN YOUR CRYPTO PLATFORM HERE!!!
It's like Sam Bankman-Fried from FTX. I Hope Hitbtc will get the same problem
USE BITVAVO, BINANCE or other platforms. Never had that issue there.

Money stealing and Robbing people
They are Robbing people. I have lost fifteen thousand of shares with a reason I didn't do any deposit or withdraw last 6 months? Excuse me? Are you forcing an investor to deposit or withdraw money in 6 months? If NOT you stealing their founds?
Its the same if you go to your Bank to check your balance or withdraw some money and you find your balance on zero with a reason you haven't withdrawn last 6 months? This is clearly Robbing peoples money. Avoid using HitBTC.

Warning: HitBTC is Phishing For Your Coins – Join Us In Sharing Your Experience And Building A Legal Case With Users
Are you a victim of unethical practices by HitBTC? I urge you to join me in sharing the message publicly that this company is not to be trusted with your assets and you can join in the process of taking legal action against them for deducting alt coins from our accounts without proper notification or justification and blocking proper access to accounts.
If you just do a brief google search on the company, you'll find they had problems back in 2020-2021, when trading was down, they literally could not pay their annual Incorporation fees and got deregistered (from the British Virgin Islands). I'll post the public statement below.
My Experience:
Since 2021, HitBTC has been deducting alt coins from my account for "inactivity fees" without any prior notice. Shockingly, I discovered this deduction had been ongoing for three years, from 2021 to 2024, without any notification or explanation from HitBTC.
Furthermore, I signed up with HitBTC in 2018, and upon checking their terms on the Wayback Machine, there was no mention of "inactivity fees" at that time. It wasn't until June 2021 (convenient timing, when they couldn't pay their bills) that they updated their terms to include these fees, yet they failed to inform existing users like myself by email.
Adding to the injustice, HitBTC requires email notification for withdrawals, but they conveniently neglect to inform users when they deduct coins from their accounts. Moreover, their two-step verification process implemented in 2021 has been consistently faulty, making it impossible for me to log in to the mobile app and monitor my account activity effectively.
This unethical behavior is unacceptable, and it's time to hold HitBTC accountable for their actions. If you've experienced similar issues with HitBTC, I encourage you to share your story and join me in seeking justice.
Let's stand together and raise awareness about this issue online in all forums, searches and places that matter for new/existing users to be properly informed of the kind of company HITBTC is. Furthermore, we are in process of taking legal action against HITBTC for their deceptive practices. Your voice matters, and together, we can at the very least make people aware of their practices. I urge you to share your experience -there will be a blog coming soon for all google searches related to HITBTC to make people aware of their Phising practices employed. Post in Forums, on FB groups, Telegram groups, signal and tell people in your network.
Please share your experiences and reach out to me for further information.

Absolutely a SCAM!Avoid it!
HitBTC is Absolutely a SCAM website! Can't withdraw at all!
The people hiding behind this site are completely anonymous.... HitBTC scams by creating endless obstacles to people trying to withdraw their funds. They make deposits incredibly simple. They make withdrawals incredibly hard.
I'd had an account with HitBTC since long time ago. I deposited 1 ETH and when I tried to withdraw I found that my account was locked with no reason.
That is how they make their money. They make their money by putting endless obstacles between you and your funds, so that eventually you give up. They ask for personal information like photo ID, proof of residence, etc. which can be resold on the dark web, especially when it's a crypto user's documents. These documents can be used to obtain access to your other crypto platforms.
I will ask the lawyer how to sue them.

Money Eating Machine
HitBtc was a very good site earlier when I opened account and they have provided various unique coin to trade. Due to change in my work nature I could not trade for few years. Hitbtc has changed rules and start deducing my hard earned money automatically without my knowledge. They have disabled my account so that I could not even check it. I regret being on platform now as I have lost around $1000 just to feed Hitbtc from my own hard earned money. I would not recommend this exchange to my friends and family. I disagree and strongly oppose their unfair business policies.

Theft
It seems that they are determined to refuse you access to your account. Even after you’ve proved your identity, they continue to ask a series of spurious questions in the hope that you won’t be able to answer them. Scam. Avoid.

Scam
I tried to log in after several years of inactivity and found out that the account is disabled. Password and 2FA are active. I received no email from HitBTC about disabling my account. I opened a support ticket in the beginning of march and provided the required screenshots. The customer support keeps asking for more details that have nothing to do with the identity confirmation. Except for visual confirmation of my identity they ask for proof of transactions. I sent them the screenshot of assets of the account I did many years ago. They asked for the transaction hash. Ok. I could follow one because I had an issue ticket with HitBTC back then and could track the transaction. Otherwise how on earth you can remember the transaction you did. I sent them the ticket number and the details of the conversation. It wasnt enough and they asked the screenshot of the transaction. I could find it in my trezor wallet and sent them the screenshot of window that Trezor opens with the summary of the transaction details. That, according to the customer support,is also not enough and they ask for the full screenshot of my screen. So after three weeks my account is still disabled and from what I read in reviews even if it gets enabled, I will not find any assets because of so called inactivity fees. My conclusion - this exchange is a total scam and you should avoid it.

AVOID - BUYER BEWARE ... I had my email hacked and the criminals set up a fraud account here. After numerous tries, appeals, emails and requests to correct the problem HitBTC did not even bother to respond, much less correct the problem. Perhaps THEY are part of the criminal fraud? NOT TRUSTWORTHY - AVOID
> > > NOTE: My updated Revised Review <<<
On the 5th email in 2 weeks - - and ONLY after posting this public 1 Star scathing review -- they finally (on Day 10) corrected the problem. Should it have taken ALL THAT to correct a FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT? NO! They are sloppy and negligent or would have tended to a FRAUD ALERT immediately. I upgraded them from 1 to 2 stars bc they finally did something but that still means Buyer Beware. Proceed at your own risk and if you ever have problems with them, well, Good Luck. I just told you how helpful their customer service is.

Big Warning! HitBTC is a Company Engaged in Theft and Deception
Just like many others sharing their experiences with HitBTC, I've been struggling since 2017 to regain access to my account. Even using my backup code doesn't work – it keeps showing errors. It's frustrating that despite all this time passing, they haven't fixed their website problems. It doesn't make sense why they're still dealing with complaints instead of just updating their technology.
Honestly, it feels like a huge scam.
My ticket numbers are #1604051, #1604266, and #456751.
These people are nothing but thieves, and it's alarming to see a company still operating, taking advantage of people who trusted them. I've also heard from colleagues at Harvard and MIT advising to steer clear of this exchange. They've all faced the same problems.
I would seriously recommend filing a report to the FBI IC3 team and the European Cybercrime Centre - EC3 - Europol.

Stole my tokens and cited "inactivity fee". Disgraceful.
Like everyone else
Like everyone else, hitbtc stole all my money under the guise of inactivity fees. I was never informed about this, and how was I supposed to find out about these stupid fees if I have been inactive for several years? I just invested for the long term and lost everything. Scammers..! Walk around this exchange, full of reputable exchanges around. She is probably still alive from our inactive fees, good luck deceiving your users!

Thieves disguised under inactivity fees never communicated or signed
hitbtc cleaned up my account charging me inactivity fees that didn't exist when i signup in 2017. the have never sent me any notice email regarding terms changes or each time they charged me this inactivity fee.
Support answer was "...according to our Terms of Service, 18.4, from the moment of recognizing the Account as Inactive, HitBTC has the right, without notification of the User, to debit Inactive Account Fee every calendar month.
As per the same Terms, 11.3, we reserve the right to make changes or modifications to these Terms from time to time, in our sole discretion. If we make changes to these Terms, we provide you with notice of such changes, such as by sending an e-mail, providing notice on the homepage of the Site and/or by posting the amended Terms via the applicable HitBTC websites and mobile applications and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms..."
Please check the terms of use from 2017 at web.archive.org
ATTENTION!
ATTENTION!
I have been charged over 550 USD for being "inactive" on HitBTC without them informing me in any way. Their argument is, that by further using their services i automatically agree to new terms (as the inactivity fee) that they add without any notification. At the same time i am charged 30USD/Month for being "inactive".
If you like to keep your cryptos => DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM!

Stay away if you care about your funds. Bought $MLT 60 days ago and I can't do anything with it, no trade, no withdrawal. Just stays stuck in the wallet.
And if you still wonder why to stay away ask yourself this:
What good is an exchange if you can't exchange anything?

Token Thiefs
Had not used my account since 2018, but knew i had about £1000 in there between TRX and XRP, decided it was time to cash out and couldn't login.
after having to go to ridiculous lengths to prove i was who I said I was, including transaction hash's - how i remembered where I had moved things around 5 years previously I dont know but eventually got back in to find all of my XRP tokens gone, HITBTC had traded these to cover inactivity fees.
Not once since 2018 had i had any communication about the introduction of the account inactivity fee of 30 USDT per month which i believe is a bit excessive anyway.
I only came out with £420 out of the £1000 that should have been in there!!!
*Edit, in response to hitbtc standard reply…. How can you be retrospectively charged an inactivity fee you were never informed of and did not accept, given that information when the fee was introduced I would have removed my funds and held them elsewhere - they had started liquidating my assets without informing me and appears there is nothing I can do about it **total fraud**
