Worst Exchange on Planet Earth SCAM SCAM SCAM

Absolutely AWFUL. I reported them - They are the WORST cryptocurrency exchange ever. They just scam and take your funds. What happens is they advertise you dont need to KYC if you withdrawal less than 1BTC. So here's what they do - this really isn't a genius at work here. They make up some phony reason why they can't allow you to withdrawal your funds and make you send in all these personal documents. You do everything they want, send in your drivers license, selfie holding some piece of paper, cell phone number, blood sample, proof of residency, all of it. Then shortly after you do all that, they want more and more, then they want some Skype teleconference call, its just nonsense. Even if you go through ALL the hoops, they just steal your funds. They never release anything and just sell off your funds and tell it for themselves.

TOTAL SCAM OPERATION AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN.

They charged me a fee of 50usdt for no reason just to withdraw my 100usdt
Can you imagine that.

Reply: I do not agree with you. I have dealt with many other exchanges and you are the worst in terms of validating identities. Taking a week and about 30 emails back and forth to validate an identity is ridiculous. Taking about 10 pictures of myself and sending them back and forth when other very secure and trustable exchanges are making you look psychos…
LESS is MORE….
good luck in your future but I won’t be dealing with you ever again.

Hello. HitBTC withdrawal fees are flat. The rates do not depend on the withdrawal amount, so the fee amount won’t change even if you withdraw a large sum. This system offers our traders significant savings on withdrawal costs.

Can't login because of two factor

Can't login because of two factor
I have lost my smartphone and i don't have access anymore to my account.

About 20 e-mails to support HitBTC and myself.

I have send a copy of my ID, selfie with me and e-mail HitBTC desktop.

I have send them even my back-up code.

They ask me a few transactions but it is years ago i have used HitBTC.

They are not willing to solve it.

I have had the same issue with other exchanges because of lost smartphone.

Only with ID and selfie i can login back into my account.

I will never use HitBTC again.

Bad support.

So, to answer Hitbtc, possible intruders have access to my back-up code that i have send to you? What a joke!

Fraud! I would give them 0 stars if I could

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They are clearly a fraud. Changing customer passwords so people can't login and then taking forever to get the details again. Charging inactivity fees without any notification. Withdrawals don't work. The whole system is designed so they benefit from your money. Avoid them.

Hitbtc does not allow access to service

Hitbtc is scam site. They do not let me log in after I lost 2FA even when I followed their instruction and send them:
1. My id card with image
2. Image of me in front of email message sent to me
3. Im using the same email address as when registered
4. Hashes of transactions where I sent funds to them.

After all this they still claim they cant verify my identity and ask me for screenshot of cold wallet/external wallet I used, but I did not use any of that bc I used myetherwallet which does not keep that information.

This lasts from 2019-2023, and since then I tried multiple times to get access sending all documents all over again.

** new info.
Now they say my ID is collage so I must send new ID images, which I did. Waiting for next scam reply.
Ticket number is 1556887, but that makes no difference, they just play helpful with intention to delete this review if I do not answer them.

They pilfered my entire account

I joined HitBTC in 2018 and didn't have any real issues for a few years, albeit I only joined to buy LOC and only accessed my account periodically to check they were still there. So I can't comment on the difficulties with withdrawals that others have mentioned.
Last week I carried out one of those periodic checks and found my account had been EMPTIED. Turns out HitBTC introduced 'inactivity fees' in 2021 which gave them the "right" to help themselves to inactive users' funds to the tune of $10 per month, but "FORGOT" to email users to inform them of this.
Perhaps one of their "team" will be along shortly to copy & paste the standard response given to others below who have had this same issue. But it doesn't address the issue, does it? How on earth did they expect inactive users to become aware of this change??? Posting new terms and conditions on their website doesn't cut it. Neglecting to email users about this massive change suggests to me that it was their intention from the start to make it as difficult as possible for inactive users to find out about this, "allowing" HitBTC to pilfer funds from their accounts. That to me is a SCAM with a capital "S", and is tantamount to theft.
Thank God I only had about 150 USD of crypto in there. Now gone.

Cryptowisser have got it right:
"UPDATE 26 May 2021: We have received reports from a large number of independent sources that this exchange engages in fraudulent behaviour.
...
Accordingly, we have marked the exchange as a scam in our database and moved it to our Exchange Graveyard."

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You mentioned however that you have been scammed by a fake company pretending to be HitBTC. We are not responsible for actions of scammers who are trying to impersonate our company and are doing our best to report such websites and have them shut down. This being said, your review of our platform that had nothing to do with how badly you've been treated by scammers doesn't seem appropriate.

Part 2 THE WHOLE COMPANY IS CORRUPT FROM THE TOP TO BOTTOM

This is part 2 to "THE WHOLE COMPANY IS CORRUPT FROM THE TOP TO BOTTOM"

So after they contacted me to say.....As my colleague stated, "it's not possible to perform any operations with INK, not only on HitBTC but on other services as well, as INK contract address is no longer operational." So the issue is not in our control.

I checked on the Ethereum Explorer to see that there were transfers on the ink and lord behold there were transfers happening after hitbtc said that they weren't any transfers happening. This exchange will lie to its customers about their assets.

Please stay away from this exchange they will keep your tokens and wont tell you about it till you try to withdraw. Hitbtc I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT YOU ON TWITTER, LINKEDIN and EMAIL why are you hiding my assets? PAY ME WHAT YOU OWE ME, DON'T ACT LIKE YOU FORGOT.

Hidden Scam

They charge you very high commissions for everything and the website is still horrible. As they say "since 2013" they have had time to improve the service. Above now they tell you that due to inactivity they have the right to steal your assets, without even sending you an email notifying you that in 1 week you will lose everything if you do not show activity. They do it hidden so that when you enter you will be surprised and thus tell you: "These are the terms, having read them."

STAY AWAY!

STAY AWAY!! Don't think you're now in the know from reading reviews and join. They will find a way to screw you over in the future because they're unethical. They were attractive because they sell coins that are not on Coinbase but it's NOT WORTH IT!!! unless you have money to throw away.

Updated terms of service without notification. Takes fees from account without notification. If I am inactive and you don't notify me of your change of terms, how am I supposed to know that my assets are being squandered? And of course, you don't have a choice about the assets they take. STAY AWAY!!!

Locked my account without notice…

Locked my account without notice claiming "inactivity", now they want me to expose private details from a different exchange in order to access my account again?

I keep receiving copy paste or nonsensical responses when I ask questions. They refuse to even provide a secure way of sending them the requested documents.

As you can see from their response below, copy paste excuses completely missing the point. No one is complaining about secure KYC processes. The original account setup KYC was done through a secure online portal. What I'm complaining about is their account "reactivation" which does not involve a secure online portal and instead involves emailing them documents over unsecure email that is open to MITM attacks among many others. This process needs a secure online portal or ticketing system for uploading such sensitive documents which can be used for identify theft.
