Company details
Information provided by various external sources
Established in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1991, the brand Hobo’s origins lie within the craft of leather. When Toni Ray, creative force behind the legendary ’70’s D.C. leather shop, Georgetown Leather, founded the brand with her daughter, Koren Ray, they wanted to keep the company firmly grounded in the belief that our possessions should reflect our journey. Raised on the road in a VW bus, and spending time under the craft bench as her mother worked in her iconic shop, Koren learned first-hand to create with beauty, soul, and purpose. As Hobo thrives as a second generation, privately-owned and family-operated brand, Koren and her husband, David Brewer, focus on creating beautiful, authentic leather goods that are made to last. They stay true to their passion and enduring design philosophy with hand-picked leathers, timeless designs, flawless functionality, and a nostalgic tribute to the methods and soul of the 70’s, creating bags that only get better with age.

Hobo is amazing
Hobo is amazing. I own 5 cross body bags, 2 shoulder bags and 3 wallets. They are fabulous and worth every penny. The quality of the leather is sublime. Zippers never hang up like other expensive designer bags. The leather cleaner keeps them clean and conditioned. Everyone needs at least 1 Hobo Bag in their life!
Poor customer service.
Bought a Sheila bag. Had it for three months and the zipper broke and the stitching coming out. Had to pay to ship it back and they decided to credit my account instead of sending a new one. They didn't have the same color but also didn't offer to send a different color. If I buy a new one, they will no longer honor the 30% off that I had originally received. So now they want me to pay over $100 more. Sorry, to me that is not taking care of your customers. Dianna McKie
First class products AND customer service
I own five Hobo purses and have enjoyed the fine quality over many years. I regularly return to the brand when I am shopping for a new bag or different style. Two years ago, I had an unusual experience with a recent bag purchased whereby the leather stain rubbed off on my clothing. This had never happened before. I contacted customer service for help. I am even more impressed with Hobo after their customer service representative worked diligently with me to correct the problem. I provided documentation, followed their requested steps, returned the bag and received a new replacement. They were responsive and diligent in resolving the problem. My only past frame of reference with a manufacturer supporting their product and providing great customer service are with Maui Jim and Shark (vacuums). Hobo is in the same class. As with Maui Jim and Shark, I am committed to the Hobo brand when I am ready to shop for my next bag! I can't recommend Hobo enough!

I purchased a Hobo wristlet in a boutique in Sebastopol, CA. After one month of use, the wristlet. After only one month of use, the strap broke. Hobo will not send me a replacement until I send them the broken one, but they also will not cover shipping costs. This seems like really bad customer service in an era where most companies are making it as simple as possible to return defective items.
Vibrant colors abound
The bag has a cool shape, bright color, its a little smaller than I would have liked but aside from that a welcome addition.
Wonderful product--well worth the investment!
I have four hobo bags and two hobo wallets and I love them all! The leather is beautiful and of high quality. I love the embellishments and the decorative interior. I also like supporting a small, family-owned business.
