Some of our staff have been with the business for decades, having cut their teeth restoring Vintage Bentley’s, Jaguar’s and Lagonda’s. All this experience helps us fix your car first time, in the shortest possible time, and our rates are very reasonable too, so please don’t think you need a Bentley to enjoy our services as we service ANY make or model. Let’s be honest, nobody wants a service or repair bill for their car. It’s our aim is to make the process and simple and convenient for you as possible. We offer a collection & delivery service for local customer’s, modern low mileage courtesy cars and our waiting area is comfortable and kid friendly. Tea and Coffee is always on tap and your car will enjoy a free wash. As well as servicing & repairs we also run a busy car sales operation and storage facility. Brilliant dealer and service

I bought a car from Hofmanns in March 2026. A really nice piece of kit, very well prepared, and a tremendous purchasing experience. Sold to me by Jake, who couldn’t have been more helpful. 7 weeks in I had a fault with the car. This is where the quality of Hofmanns really showed. The service I received was absolutely impeccable, from every member of the team. They listened, supported, acted and sorted everything perfectly, with no fuss at all. The car is back, and I couldn’t be happier. Absolutely first class. Thank you Hofmanns!

Excellent service!

I took my newly bought second-hand car to Hofmann’s for a full safety check, and I couldn’t be more impressed.

Joe was incredible - he took the time to explain everything clearly, in a way that actually made sense (which isn’t always the case with cars!). I left feeling completely confident about what needed doing and what didn’t, with no pressure or upselling.

It’s such a relief to find a genuinely trustworthy, knowledgeable local garage. Brilliant service from start to finish - highly recommend.

Recently bought a car from Jake at…

Recently bought a car from Jake at Hofmann’s and it was genuinely one of the best buying experiences I’ve had.
From start to finish, Jake went above and beyond - excellent communication, proactive follow-ups, and consistently helpful throughout. He worked hard to secure the best possible price on my part exchange, which made a real difference. The aftersales support has been just as strong - responsive, attentive, and professional.

The car itself was immaculately prepared by Hofmann’s, exactly as you’d hope.

I’ve bought a lot of cars over the years, including from main dealers, and this was comfortably the standout experience. Huge thanks to the team at Hofmann’s, and especially to Jake.

Do not use for MOT of your classic car

Do not use for MOT of your classic car. My 1993 BMW went in for an MOT with Hofmann's of Henley. The car is my pride and joy and had a really clean MOT history, with the previous advisories dating back to 2014 (for tyres). It only has 32228 miles from new. The previous MOT (done elsewhere) was completely clean. Since that MOT the car had only driven 620 miles in the year. Yet Hofmann's failed the car on 4 items and found 16 advisories. They have ruined the history of the car and they charged me over £1,000 for the privilege. I understand that the MOT is important to ensure road safety but there is no way that the car has deteriorated so badly in a year given that it is stored indoors, is not driven in the winter and covered 620 miles since its last MOT. Now they are chasing me to rebook. Avoid.

Follow up:

They did phone me. The main two messages I took away from the call were that a) they are never wrong and b) that I clearly don’t understand MOTs.

When I dropped off the car I had to wait for the advisor to finish a phone call. He was explaining at length to the owner of a Series 1 Land Rover all the reasons they had failed it on its MOT. After the call he turned to me and basically said “that’s what you get if you try to maintain a car yourself”. I should have taken that as a warning and not left my car with them.

They did not fix the roof. I asked them to have a ‘quick look’ at the roof to see if it was something they could do. Their answer was “We have inspected the roof and are going to advise you take that to the specialist”. They then wanted to charge me £309 for this quick look on top of the £1036 before they would pass the MOT. Of this £976.79 was their labour charge. Only £70.23 was for parts and sundries.

I understand that a member of our team has since spoken with you to discuss the concerns you raised. As part of that conversation, we offered a complimentary MOT so that we can go through the items identified on the test with you in person, show you the areas concerned on the vehicle, and explain why they were recorded in line with DVSA testing standards.

In this case, the vehicle failed on four MOT items which required attention before a pass could be issued. These were matters we considered clear and necessary to rectify, and they formed part of the work invoiced. In addition, we also repaired your roof FOC as a goodwill gesture.

When carrying out an MOT, our testers are required to assess the vehicle strictly in accordance with DVSA guidelines, using approved procedures and calibrated equipment. We do appreciate that it can be frustrating when a cherished, low-mileage car receives advisories or failures that were not noted previously, but our responsibility is to report the vehicle’s condition as it presents on the day of the test.

We take great pride in our workmanship and always aim to be thorough, fair and transparent in everything we do. Our intention is never to cause upset, but to ensure that every MOT inspection is completed properly and to the required standard.

Our offer remains open, and we would welcome the opportunity to review the vehicle with you and talk through the findings fully.

Great Garage

Great Garage. Nice friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff, fair prices. I have been dealing with them, and Coxon's before that for about 30 years, and never had a single issue.

Hilux truck battery

As always, the team were very attentive, interested and proactive in addressing my vehicle issue. Basically a battery that was struggling in winter conditions and needed replacing. The time from dropping by to ask if a technician was available to assess, to the service team and parts to having battery replaced was within 48 hours. Brilliant service. Thoroughly recommend. Exceptional garage and level of service

I used this garage for the first time today and the team (particularly Steve) is exceptional, in the more than 45 years of driving probably the best I have dealt with. The engineering expertise and knowledge is outstanding and Steve took lots of time explaining everything in detail to me. My Toyota Rav4 is 9 years old and I had used another local Toyota service centre for the previous services but they let me down when extra work was needed. Hoffmans carried out the work quickly and realised that 2 of the items which needed to be replaced were covered under warranty so these cost me nothing, whereas the other service Toyota service centre had told me none of the work was covered under warranty. I highly recommend this garage.

Extremely helpful and great service.

Hofmanns went above and beyond when my Toyota Yaris developed a fault, meaning I was unable to drive it, just before I was going on holiday. My usual garage couldn't fit me in for a month but Hofmanns arranged a tow for the next day and sorted the
problem, while I was away. Steve emailed to let me know the car had been fixed and I was able to collect it, as soon as I returned home. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've recently been lucky enough to…

I've recently been lucky enough to finally buy a dream car for me. I approached Hofmanns, as the car I wanted, in the exact spec was there. It was alot of money to me, so I was very, very nervous throughout ( past experiences with dealers, really haven't been good). Lance was absolutely wonderful! He really looked after me, and as a result, I'm the proud owner of a gorgeous, flawless car. Any issues or queries /concerns I had, were quickly dealt with, and accommodated. Tbh, I really can't speak highly enough of Hofmanns of Henley or their salesman Lance. Thankyou so much guys. I'll be recommending you guys, to anyone looking for a high quality car.

Trustworthy & Fantastic Service

Trustworthy & Fantastic Service.
Was in a tight pinch on time scale to get an MOT completed and breaks replaced ahead of roadtrip holiday across Europe. My ordinary garage couldn’t help, but Hofmann came to the rescue with an outstanding service! From Sarah in the office saving my holiday, and making sure I got the best prices on my breaks, to Matt collecting and delivering my car so politely and safely with all the information I needed, to Steve who updated me through the day on the repairs, didn’t do repairs not needed, and even fixed a few things without cost. Absolutely brilliant service. I might have been a first time customer, but will certainly be a returning customer. 👏

Fantastic Service!

Huge thank you to Hofmanns for their fantastic service fixing my Exige CUP430 in an extremely tight timescale so could honour a commitment to get a friends son to the Prom on time!

From the outset of investigating the issue, finding and fixing, service manager Steve kept me up to date with progress which was greatly appreciated. Hofmanns pulled out all the stops to get the parts needed, even taking the decision to send one of their employees to pick up the final part of the jigsaw on a 4hour round trip - AMAZING!!!

Root cause was cooling system, new rads and expansion tank, considering the weather we have been having over the past few days car has not missed a beat and kept its cool!

Top notch service, highly recommended

18 months later and still a very happy customer

My husband purchased a Lotus Evora from here back in 2024, I dealt with communication as he was working abroad. From first enquiry to completion of sale, this company was a pleasure to deal with. They collected my husband from London airport when he arrived home from abroad and took him to pick up the car. There was an oversight with MOT and as we were 500miles up in NE Scotland , we couldn’t return the car but this was not an issue for them, we got it MOT and they refunded us the money, no questions asked. Their customer service is second to none. The car has been everything my husband dreamed it would be, and runs like a dream. When we are in the market for another performance car this most definitely will be our first stop. Cannot recommend them enough. From first enquiry to 18 months later and car running like a dream, a great company selling top notch cars. 5 stars from us.

Exceptional

Hoffman's have looked after my car for the past five years. They collect and deliver my car on time without fail and the collection drivers are always very polite . Also don't carry out work that does not need doing the service is exceptional very pleased

Outstanding customer service

Having discovered on a Thursday morning that my MOT had run out, and needing to travel at the weekend, I rang a number of garages all of whom said they could do nothing until the following week.

When I contacted Hofmanns however, their response was completely different. They checked with rest of the staff to see what was possible and offered to fit it in the MOT between other jobs if I dropped off the car the next morning.

When I took the car, my experience with everyone to whom I spoke to was that they were both courteous and professional, and when the car needed a minor headlight adjustment, this was also completed without charge.

This level of customer service is outstanding.

Fantastic service

I recently had a Class 7 MOT carried out on my Ford Ranger at Hofmann’s of Henley, and I was genuinely impressed from start to finish. I hadn’t realised they catered to ‘normal’ vehicles as well, having always associated them with the high-end performance cars usually on display in their forecourt — but I’m very glad I found out they do!

The workshop was spotless and clearly very well run. Sarah was fantastic — incredibly helpful and managed to squeeze me in at short notice, which I really appreciated. The whole team were friendly, professional, and made the process easy and straightforward.

Highly recommend Hofmann’s, whether you’re driving something sporty or just need a trustworthy place for your everyday vehicle. I’ll definitely be back.

Great specialist and terrific service

Recently, I decided to fulfill a long term desire to own a Lotus and after much research, found the ideal car at Hofmanns in Henley, an independent Lotus specialist (despite being 400 miles away).

Working with Lance Tyrrill, he ensured the car was ready (major service and MoT'd). After a long drive down, the car was looking great and drove as I had hoped. However, once back, I noticed a couple of minor body issues but mainly that the large rear air vent above the engine had a split on each corner. The workshop resolved the minor body issues and Lance said he'd order the part under the Hofmanns warranty, arranging to have it sent to and fitted by the local Lotus dealer near where I live. Based on this promise, I accepted the car and took delivery.

As promised as per his word, the part arrived and I got it fitted by the local Lotus dealer with no cost to me. I had a one other minor niggle so approached Hofmanns for advice where the issue was resolved swiftly. Even after delivery, I felt Hofmanns were always on hand to give support and advice at any time.

I don't tend to submit reviews generally, but I was looked after so well by Lance and Hofmanns where their customer service is absolutely top notch, that I was compelled to do so.

I'd thoroughly recommend Hofmanns to anyone looking for a great quality car with great service.
