BEWARE! It does not include metro to airport though it should have

I purchased a 48 hours hola travel card at 6pm Wednesday 8 April. The confirmation email states:
"The travel includes metro service travel between the airport and Barcelona city centre."
I arrived at the airport at 3pm Friday 10 April. This is before the expiration of my Hola card, yet my ticket was rejected at the airport metro exit machine.
I had to buy another airport metro ticket at €5.9.
This was very stressful experience.

Waiting for a refund a year later.

In March 2025 I had booked family cable car tickets. On the day it was cancelled due to strike action and I was told I was eligible for a refund. I have been trying ever since to get a refund - on the phone, on messenger etc. Every time I am told that the issue has been raised with the complaints and claims department and it will be resolved. They never give me a direct contact for that department, nor escalate it to a manager. Now nearly a year later I am being told the same thing and I STILL have not been refunded. Absolutely appalling.

Do Not Book Cable Car Tickets With Hola Barcelona!

A serious warning to anyone thinking of booking with Hola Barcelona. We needed a refund for the cable car and they deliberately ignored us for weeks. They finally promised the refund in 5 weeks—a deadline that has long since passed. I even had to pay to call them internationally from Ireland, where their agent shamefully admitted there was nothing they could do. They are happy to take your money instantly but will make you fight for weeks to get it back. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere.

Terrible customer service if you cancel.

as per Hola Terms and Conditions I cancelled the Travel card that I had previously purchased. Have been waiting 6 months for a refund. Have contacted customer service numerous times but always been fobbed off with same answer, and no update and prospect of the refund

Do not use the Hola Barcelona as they…

Do not use the Hola Barcelona as they as the fraudsters who have pathetic customer service and do not response and share update to customers. I raised a cancel ticket request 5 months ago and still no one even bother to take action or respond, despite multiple follow up and emails. Please avoid this company and the agent I spoke to today also responded that there is no escalation process , can’t share a written communication as update on email. My case reference number 2163879 pending since mar 2025

It does not work on all the busses

It does not work on all the busses, and is really unclear what's the limitations. So stay away, go for normal tram/bus tickets instead. This is almost a scam.

DO NOT - REPEAT NOT - USE HOLA BARCELONA

Sigh. If I could give Hola Barcelona 0 stars I would. But if I can prevent at least one person from getting scammed like I did, then some good will come from this sorry mess.

I bought 2 tickets for the Mountjuic cable car online. The money was taken instantly from my account yet I received absolutely nothing upon payment - no confirmation, receipt and, most importantly, no tickets.

I contacted them on both their contact form and Facebook. I was sent a message back with some reassurance this would be dealt with. Perhaps naively, I thought 'oh, they'll send me a confirmation now - an easy enough task'.

Now a couple of weeks on, I am being ghosted - no response to any of my follow up messages. All my emails have been polite and simply requesting a refund for a service I didn't receive.

Please read the other reviews on here. Don't let the jovial name 'Hola Barcelona' lull you into any sense of security. Avoid like the absolute plague.

UPDATE 21/08:I HAVE FINALLY GOT MY REFUND! It took a heck of a lot of emailing various people within TMB, spamming their socials and even a letter in Catalan to the Mayor of Barcelona but I got there in the end. If you are committed to getting your money back, please don't give up....but be prepared to be like a dog with a bone to pursue it

No hassles

Surprised to see the bad ratings.
Anyway, my experience were all pleasant and easy.
Bought for the second time on May 2 for a weekend trip to Barcelona and no hassles. The Barcelona card was a big help.

Scammers!

Be wary! It's such a scam card. My first purchase was ticket verification, which you must withdraw to receive a physical card. But of course, my verification was conveniently removed from the APP! The only proof I had was a withdrawal from the bank. Customer Service was absolutely the worst experience you could think of. Nobody knew an ounce of English, and no company wanted to help or take any accountability. 42 $ down the drain. Worst part, I had to buy another one that worked, so 84 $ for 5 days.

Unused teleferic ticket not reimbursed

In January I bought a ticket for the Teleferic Montjuic for a stay in Barcelona end of February. On the website of Hola Barcelona it was not visible that the Teleferic would be close in the last week of February. Since early March I have been contacting Hola Barcelona via multiple ways (website, email, phone) to ask for a reimbursement, but without success. I got a ticket numer and it was confirmed by phone that somebody would take care of my request, but now we are almost two months later and nothing at all happened. Very disappointing. And - what I learnt later when staying in Barcelone - the teleferic is included in the normal public transport day tickets. Also this was not clearly visible on their website. So all in all a very disappointing experience.

DON’T!

Bought a cable card ticket online and was charged twice. Several emails, multiple phone calls, and three months later - still no refund.

Hola Barcelona is definately not a fair…

Hola Barcelona is definately not a fair organization. They apparently purely focus on making money and not on customer service. They do not reply to any form of contact in case something went wrong. Not on Messenger or Instagram, their inbox is full so emails also don’t arrive there. I bought tickets for the teleferic montjuic with them. But no where on their website it was mentioned that the teleferic was closed for refurbishment until march (our stay was until february 27). When asked for a refund they cannot be reached. Its been a week now and still no contact. Worst travel organisation I have ever experienced.

No recommendation

Because of a general bus strike in Barcelona we couldn´t use our tickets. The employee from HolaBarcelona advised to ask for a refund by mail, but we wrote several mails and didn´t get an answer.
Hands off from this business!!

Don't do it

Don't do it. We bought it purely to get to the airport and use the metro. We went to catch the bus to the airport and said they don't accept it. Their website specifically states you can. SCAM

Pure scam, do not buy.

I bought the 5-day travel card because 1., I read that it was for "unlimited public transport", but of course, not all buses were included in this. And 2., it also said that the travel cars included the Aerobus ticket from and to the airport. This was, of course, not correct. Aerobus told me HolaBarcelona has been doing this scam for ages. I also tried contacting them on their website, but their contact form does not work, and their "messenger-link" leads to nowhere, further confirming their website and business is pure scam.

Hola Barcelona charged me twice for one…

Hola Barcelona charged me twice for one Montjuic Castle Cable car ticket voucher. They have refused to refund as their system says 'Sin Pagar' even though I have provided a screen shot of my bank account showing the payment being withdrawn twice. This is has now been reported as a crime.

I arrived in Barcelona in 23/01/2024 I…

I arrived in Barcelona in 23/01/2024 I was at the machine about to buy the ticket when one of employees from Hola Barcelona came to me and said: “I will explain how the tickets works” he said to me buy the tickets 5 days this one is the best option to you, I asked him many times, is there another option, it’s so expensive this ticket €40.80? He said: this is the only option that you have, does not exist another ticket, I bought 2 tickets because I was with my partner, we paid over €81euros for 5 days!

When I arrived in my Airbnb the lady who lives in Barcelona explained and said the guy who sold the ticket to you from Hola Barcelona lied to you.

There is T-Mobilitat where you can buy 10 tickets for €12 euros or €21 euros for whole month.

I tried to get my refund in my first day as soon as I got this information, however the company does not care about it. They didn’t reply and when I called them, they said: we can’t refund you because you validated the ticket.

Of course I validated the ticket, I didn’t know about it, your colleague lied to me, gave wrong information.

It’s the worse company that I bought something, and they never try to solve our problem. When I saw the guy who sold me the ticket next day, he said I don’t what you are saying. He lied to me twice, he said my ticket was validated to use to go to the airport and it is not either.

I felt so prejudice about it. I would like to bring my case to the court.

They can’t do it with the customer.
