Overpayed by one day costing 40 pounds…

Overpayed by one day costing 40 pounds extra. The rental car was Dacia cheap and poor quality. Probably was the worst rental ive had and ive had a few. I had to sort the overpayment myself and the car had loads of dents not great.

Highly recommendable for motorhome rental & service

Highly recommendable, good old-fashioned customer care by competent employees and a foresightful management! We'll not rent somewhere else in Iceland.
We had rented a new type of motorhome (4x4, but comfortable with two 2-m beds) and could, in our 5th trip to Iceland, explore more regions than ever. Car was in top conditions, but due to the new type, questions had to be clarified during the 3-weeks rental. Response time was quick, and suggestions highly competent.
The company take 24/7 support seriously - in a country, where service in the evenings or on weekends is still something extraordinary. E.g.: On our 2nd last day the gas-heating stopped working, tele-tutoring from 11 in the evening till 1 o'clock in the morning was not successful. We had to drive to the base, where the problem was solved at 3:30 in the morning. At the end, we had practically lost one night and one day - and the company gave us a meaningful compensation without having to be asked!
There is only one thing they could improve: in-company communication to get everybody to the same knowledge with novelties, and have all videos readily available also for new cars.

I want to give a huge shout-out to…

I want to give a huge shout-out to Kristófer for going above and beyond to assist us when our third-party provider unexpectedly canceled our booking just three days before arrival. Kristófer not only swiftly provided us with a better alternative within our budget but also enlightened us about potential hidden fees that we would have incurred had the third-party booking gone ahead. For instance, we discovered there was an undisclosed one-way fee since we were picking up the car in Keflavik but dropping it off in Akureryri. This experience taught us a valuable lesson: booking directly with Europcar is the way to go as it ensures full transparency regarding what you're getting. This was our second time renting from Europcar in Iceland, and once again, they exceeded our expectations. The team was incredibly helpful, and their vehicles were top-notch (the 4WD traction was a lifesaver during a snowstorm). Despite the setback with the third-party provider, Europcar provided us with reassurance and reliable service. Thank you, Kristófer, and everyone at Europcar-Holdur Iceland for making our trip stress-free and enjoyable!
