Paid for Home Surveying to carry out a Level 2 Home Survey on a property we're in the process of buying. We specifically asked for the loft space to be surveyed amongst other things.

The initial report was delivered to us promptly. However, the loft space had not been inspected due to the access hatch being locked. We then asked the surveyor and estate agents to arrange for the loft to be opened, inspected and added to the report. After receiving no updates from either the surveyors or estate agents on whether access to the loft had been arranged, we took it upon ourselves to chase up and pressure the surveyors and estate agents to revisit the property and do what originally asked them to do, to inspect the loft.

Having made numerous calls, we were often told at the end of each call that we would get a call back, which never happened! Why make promises if you're not going to stick to them? All talk and no action!

It has now been 2 months since we received our initial report. After yet another call to them yesterday, we were told that the loft was inspected a few weeks ago and the report was being updated at the time of speaking and would be sent to us by end of today. Why are they only updating the report now and not a few weeks ago after the loft was inspected? Lo and behold, we still have not got the updated report.

One would expect more professionalism where you pay such a high fee for a service.

It was very easy to orgsnise the survey, we weren’t hassled they just waited until we were ready to go ahead with it and then proceeded promptly when we were.
I feel it has really helped us with our decision to proceed but with the knowledge and information of advisories that we will need to remedy in the future and budget accordingly.

Extremely happy with the overall experience. Quick replies and a personalised service for a very competitive price. Home buying is a stressful process and so it’s crucial to find a surveyor to lessen that stress.

Our buyer arranged a survey of our apartment with this company. Teresa was the lady who surveyed our property. I was shocked to find the state it was left in when returning from work - holes in the walls (presumably from a moisture meter), with one hole splitting the plaster near the window frame so badly the whole chunk of plaster had to be removed and repaired - see picture. Holes in the ceilings and black scratchy marks on walls under the window seals in every room. No attempt was made to repair, or fill in these holes, or notify myself or my wife (who was in at the time). Is this really standard practise for a surveyor to leave a property in this condition which has now taken hours of my time to repair?

Can't fault this service. Gave me by far the cheapest quote and booked survey very quickly. Admittedly, initial communication was a little iffy, but it was Xmas-New Year week and I imagine they were on skeleton staff. First day back in the new year they really kicked into gear. Even got a phone call from the surveyor at the house, to go through some concerns. Got the report within 2-3 days. Will definitely call them first next time.

The survey was booked very promptly with the report being delivered the day after the survey.

My surveyor was Khalid. Buying your first property is tough task as it is, and you will come across some turbulences, for me home buy survey was not one of them ! I talked with Khalid in length after the survey, he is knowledgeable, experienced and highly skilled. He was very understanding and kindly allowed plenty of time for discussion following the survey that extended beyond the normal working hours. I also had to call him on numerous occasions and in very short notice to ask about various matters related to the property and some technical lines in the report and he was always happy to take an extra call. The report provided was thorough and inline with RICS template, my solicitor found it extremely helpful raising their enquirers.

I originally had a major issue with these regarding a Valuation Report Extension, however, once management heard about it they were very quick and accommodating in resolving the issue. Liam was particularly very helpful.

I have been in touch with a lady named Becky Anderson to book a recent survey and her service has been amazing. She has booked us in as soon as possible and has replied to all my queries straight away, with all the information i need, in both a friendly and professional manner. So far would recommend to all! :)

Honestly it was a good service from Home Surveying. The communication was very smooth with Jade from the start. The quote was the most competitive too for a Level 2 RICS report.

They arranged the visit to the property in about a week with the Estate Agent. On that day the surveyor went and did the survey.

Next day I emailed asking when could we expect the report. I was expecting them to say 4-5 days. Jade told me in 1-2 days. 2 hours later I received the report in my email. Mid morning of the next day.

The report was up to standard. However, having no prior experience of these reports, I can say the surveyors tend to cut a bit short of info, and cover their asses to the extreme. It's luck of the draw. I don't think this is particular from our surveyor though, it's probably common based on what I read online. Still annoying. The report had absolutely 0 green. Even in sections where the description said it was in a normal state of maintenance, it was orange. It didn't make sense. It makes it clear they have a templated text they just paste over and over, and they add like 1 particular line in your report (if needed).

That makes it extremely generic information. It looks more like a lecture on "risks". They won't even touch any services (electrical, drainage, water or gas), drop a red 3, and recommend a specialist inspection. When you see it you get scared. But after looking at it closer you notice it is their way of working. The house, even having everything red or orange, had absolutely nothing to worry about. Everything was very minor.

It was useful to raise some legal stuff for the solicitors to enquire about.

Thus, be careful when reading them. I would like a better work put in by the surveyors. We didn't bother even asking for questions because we understood mostly everything and judged ourselves. He would've probably just covered his ass anyway.

Still, can't complain about the service. It was cheap, very fast and reliable, so I would definitely recommend homesurveying for doing this.

Easy to understand protocols and swift response to emails.

The service I received from Home Surveying was of a really professional standard. The person I originally dealt with Becky Anderson was very helpful and kept me updated throughout. I also found the other members of staff that I dealt with to also be very professional and helpful. I would certainly use their services again in the future and recommend home surveying to other friends and family.
