Avoid Saxo Bank – Extremely Unprofessional Compliance Experience

My experience with Saxo Bank’s compliance department was absolutely unacceptable.

I was simply transferring my own money from my own Swiss bank account to my Saxo account, in Swiss francs. Despite this, I was subjected to intrusive and, in my view, completely disproportionate questions about my employer, income, and tax affairs.

What should have been a routine transfer turned into an unnecessarily invasive and frustrating compliance process. The way Saxo handled the situation gave me very little confidence in how they treat their clients or manage legitimate customer funds.

A bank should make its clients feel that their assets are secure and that they are dealing with a professional institution. Unfortunately, my experience with Saxo was the complete opposite.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Saxo Bank, particularly anyone planning to hold substantial assets there. Think very carefully before trusting this bank with your money.

For me, this experience was enough to seriously question whether Saxo is a bank I want to have any relationship with. I would not recommend Saxo Bank.

Horrible customer service. I have called more than 10 times trying to get support, and I was always disconnected because nobody picked up the phone. It feels impossible to contact anyone or get proper help. Extremely frustrating experience, and I absolutely cannot recommend Saxo.

Jaya was super helpful and friendly. She went the extra mile to call me with an update on my issue, which I really appreciated. My issue has been resolved to full satisfaction.

First things first, very high quality support.
This is the most important aspect of a reliable broker and bank. And this is exactly what I would expect in Switzerland.
I had some issues with a portfolio transfer. It was taking very long, but then Ms. Sophia solved it brilliantly and efficiently. I had to ask for some clarifications about the W-8BEN, then, again, Ms. Sophia answered all my questions very quickly and with extreme diligence.
