About as bad as it gets really

About as bad as it gets really. You should really be able to leave a zero star review, as that is appropriate in this case.

I ordered an item from the Homebound Essentials website on the 15th January as a birthday present for my brother-in-law.

Since the day it was ordered, until today, I haven't had any correspondence from the company to confirm that my order was placed, received, when I can expect it to be delivered. Nothing.

I have made a number of calls and left voicemails on the mobile number listed on their 'Contact us' page on the website - 07537188740 - with no call back. I have also sent numerous emails, as well as direct messages to their social media accounts, and have had nothing in response. The most recent posts on both their Facebook and Instagram accounts are dated the 26th and 27th May 2023, respectively, so this didn't inspire any confidence either.

I would recommend avoiding this organisation completely, as I have a feeling they may no longer be in operation. That is the only logical explanation I can come up with for their complete lack of communication.

Luckily, I was able to raise a dispute with my payment provider, and get my money back. AVOID!!

I ordered the tent from this company…

I ordered the tent from this company earlier in the year. Unfortunately I didn’t check the product as it was winter in Australia. When I opened the box there were two pieces missing. The tent was easy enough to assemble, however folding it into anything bar a two and a half metre triangle has been impossible! I can’t go camping as I can’t fit the thing in my car! Absolute disaster! I believe the tent, which is the same colour as the Mogics Carsule, a deceptive move by this company, is not fit for purpose! I tried for hours to fold it back up, even following the Mogics tutorial on YouTube. Please do not purchase. This cost me over $500 au for a piece of junk I can’t use. The company refused to refund me as it was over the 3 month return period. So disappointed ☹️

We strongly recommend that all customers inspect their items and verify the contents of their order immediately upon delivery. We offer a 30-day return and exchange policy specifically to ensure that if an item is not as expected or if something is missing, we can assist the customer and resolve the issue right away.

In this instance, because we were only contacted three months after the delivery, we are unable to verify the claim of missing pieces. Without timely notification, we cannot determine if parts were missing at the point of manufacture or if they were misplaced after delivery. For the integrity of our returns process, we cannot offer refunds or replacements once this window has passed.

While we understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for, our policies are in place to ensure a fair and verifiable process for all of our customers.

I ordered a set of decorative candle…

I ordered a set of decorative candle holders and a kitchen gadget (a milk frother) as gifts. Both items looked great online, but the delivery took longer than expected — almost 10 days. When they arrived, one of the candle holders had a small chip on the base. I reached out to customer service, and they were polite and offered to send a replacement, but it took a couple of days to get a reply. They did fix it in the end, but the delay was a bit annoying since it was meant for a birthday. The quality’s good, but I think they could improve shipping times and response speed.

I bought a smart kitchen thermometer as…

I bought a smart kitchen thermometer as a Father’s Day gift, and overall, it was a good experience. The gadget works really well and connects to Bluetooth easily — my dad uses it every weekend when he grills. The only hiccup was that the first shipment was delayed by a few days, but the team was quick to respond when I asked about tracking and kept me updated until it arrived. The packaging was neat and gift-ready, so I didn’t even have to rewrap it. Solid 4 stars — just wish it had shipped a little faster.

I ordered one of their electric salt…

I ordered one of their electric salt and pepper grinder sets as a Christmas gift for my parents, and I’m so glad I did. It looks sleek, feels sturdy, and works perfectly. My mom said it’s her new favorite kitchen gadget! The order came nicely packaged and included a little thank-you card, which was a cute touch. I had a small question about batteries, and the support team emailed back within an hour with a helpful answer. Super impressed with both the product and the people behind it

I bought a kitchen knife set and…

I bought a kitchen knife set and cutting board bundle from HomeBound Essentials as a wedding gift for my cousin, and it was such a hit! The knives are super sharp and come in a really nice block that looks great on the counter. Everything arrived well-packed and on time. I reached out to their team before ordering because I wanted to make sure it would ship before the big day — they replied the same afternoon and even upgraded my shipping at no extra cost. Great quality, great service, and honestly, the presentation made it look way more expensive than it was!

I purchased a camping stove which I had to wait for as I initially had an email informing me they were due a re-stock of the item.
During this time of waiting there was no correspondence from them at all despite my repeated contact.
Eventually, after 10 weeks or so my item was delivered but crucial components missing from the box so refund requested but no contact since!
Quick to take your money but then the service is awful! Everything they say regarding items, delivery etc etc is totally incorrect!

Scam company

Scam company! I placed an order to buy a present from my boyfriend, mislead by the positive reviews which I now believe to be fake, but after reading some of the negative reviews I had my doubts and cancelled the order. I contacted them and they said they would give me a refund, and that it would take 15 working days. However, that time has passed and there is no sign of my money. I contacted them about this and I haven't received a reply since January 27th so I think it is safe to say that they have no intention of refunding me. I now have to go through my bank to dispute the charge. Do not buy from here!

Almost Perfect Hydration

Keeps drinks cold for 24+ hours! Straw design is clever and spill-proof. The handle is comfortable for carrying. Only critique is the lid can be tough to clean thoroughly. Fits car cup holders despite size. Powder coating still pristine after daily use.

Nostalgic Comfort

These slippers are adorably cozy! The retro design gets lots of compliments. Memory foam feels great but takes about 3 days to properly mold. Sizing runs a bit large - I'd go down half a size. Plush material still soft after washing, though slightly less fluffy.

Humane and Effective

Finally, a mousetrap that doesn't make me feel guilty! Used it for 3 weeks during our cabin's mouse season. Caught 5 mice, all unharmed. The app notifications work great, though sometimes there's a slight delay. Battery life could be better - needed changing after 2 weeks. Love that it's reusable and easy to clean.

Fraudulent Company

Complete scam company. Sent a playmat to us that took 6 weeks to arrive, wrong colour and size. Organised a return with us via Evri courier which is taking weeks, can see that the delivery failed on their end and is now being returned to us. This playmat was ordered in March and we’re still dealing with this issue now. They have time to reply to a trustpilot review from my partner but no time to respond to my emails or pick up their phone with an explanation or resolution on what’s happening with this refund. Total scam and evil as they know I’m heavily pregnant and expecting a baby anytime now too. Company will be reported and will be attempting further avenues to getting our £150 back. They state they have a UK warehouse on their website but street view just shows a housing estate. So dodgy, avoid them at all costs.

PS they’ve replied to my partners review stating that they send their returns to a ‘charity address’ so why has this person refused the delivery? Also there was a company name on the return label they provided me called “TrekTechGear” so I find it extremely hard to believe that claim, and ultimately it’s resolved absolutely nothing for us!! Give us our money back!

Update 19/06/24 they have removed their reply to my partners post. They agreed to refund the rug on the 4th June and said it would take 15 days for the refund to process. It is now 15 days later and still no sign of refund. Awful people!

Update 23/06/24 credit company have refunded the money to us.

Scam company do not use. Purchased a playmat for our son and after it took 6 weeks to arrive it was terrible quality and the wrong colour. Company’s address is obviously not a genuine address and after we somehow managed to initiate a return, it went to a lovely residential village in Germany for some reason. The delivery was refused and the playmat is being returned to us by the courier. Avoid at all costs.

Do not bother

Do not bother

A chair I ordered was never delivered. Apparently list. I was told I would have to wait for stock, I was also told they might have to give me a refund

I stated clearly that I would rather have the chair, However again a few weeks later with zero communication I have now asked for a refund, let’s see if I can get it

I mean, it’s a joke. If you look at their reply it’s a year later so for God sake avoid this company.

Fraudulent company

This is a fraudulent company with absolutely abysmal service. They do not deliver within 7-10 days at all. Their customer service is one person who offers AI/robotic responses which are not helpful. Ordering from here has been a colossal mistake.
