Great set up for a family gathering. We were able to have four generations all eating and playing games around the large kitchen table, so much better than staying in separate accommodation. The pool was a life saver for occupying the children and adults alike.one of our group is a wheelchair user and the accessible annex with it's ensuite wet room was ideal. The gardens were well laid out , tranquil and being enclosed made it hassle free for exercising the dog. We would like to come back in the summer months to be able to use the garden and BBQ to it's full potential.
Only having one parking space was a bit of a nuisance, however as the website states street parking isn't an issue around the quiet roads of the village.
I would recommend it for big family occasions and when you consider it holds up to 12 people it is reasonably priced.

Brilliant house. Very well stocked kitchen. Lots of room for all the family. Accessible suite was great. The pool was fabulous. Garden is gorgeous - perfect for the dogs.
It’s in a great location - a pretty village with nice pubs and a short drive from Scarborough.

We stayed at Home Farm over Christmas with a group of 10 – three generations from grandparents to little ones – and it was absolutely perfect. The house is incredibly spacious, beautifully homely and so cosy that we instantly felt relaxed and comfortable.

The indoor pool was a huge highlight for all of us – we spent hours in there! The layout of the property worked perfectly for our group, with plenty of room for everyone to eat, play and unwind without ever feeling crowded.

The kitchen is well equipped with a great sized dining table for everyone to eat together. The living room was so warm and inviting with the log burner. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious - especially the attic room!

The village of Scalby is lovely with some nice walks right out of the door. Absolutely recommend Home Farm for large family stays. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend Christmas. The best holiday we’ve had as an extended family!

Just returned from a 5 day stay at Home Farm, there were 12 in our party, including 3 children. The cottage was perfect for our New Year break oand the swimming pool was big bonus, especially will the children. My daughter uses a wheelchair and the house was well equipped for her needs. Would highly recommend a visit to the Plough Inn and would recommend the cottage.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful weekend at Home Farm. The property was well equipped with plenty of room for our family of 12. The house was perfect for those in our party with mobility issues and the pool was a real bonus. The local village is lovely with two pubs and Scarborough is within a 10 minute drive.

We had a great multi generationalfamily weekend. This is a lovely spacious cottage with everything we needed and more. The swimming pool was a brilliant bonus. Having a well designed suite with accessible wet room meant that our disabled daughter could join us too. We would happily return and recommend it highly.

This year was our second visit to Home Farm, the family love it. We enjoy the security of its large, enclosed well-kept garden that gives us peace of mind that our dog can't escape. The house is warm and friendly with more bedrooms to suit our family needs but are always handy to have. The main reason we chose home farm was the private swimming pool where we spent most of our time. The village of is quite with a couple of pubs, one that serves great food. There is a café that does great bacon buttes but opens a little late for my liking. Thanks again Melanie.

Our second multi generational family holiday at home farm was just as good as our first. The house is homely yet spacious enough for a big group, the garden is lovely to sit out in and the kids spent every free minute in the pool! It had everything we needed for the week and is clean and comfortable. The accessible suite was perfect for my dad who is a full time wheelchair user. All his needs were met by the house and he could access the garden too. Scalby itself is picturesque (daisy's tearoom was especially lovely) and in easy travelling distance of lots of family and wheelchair friendly days out. We went on the steam train from Grosmont to Whitby (need to book the wheelchair space in advance), visited Peasholm park and had fish and chips by the beach in Scarborough, all with relative ease, just a little planning for where to park and avoid steep hills. We'll definitely come again!

We had a lovely long weekend celebrating with family for a 60th birthday

There was all ages ranging from 5 weeks to 60, , Home Farm was lovely in a nice location and less than a 10 minute drive into Scarborough, we were extremely lucky with the weather which was the icing on the cake,We made use of the lovely garden and the swimming pool was amazing the kids were never out of it .

We had such a wonderful stay at Home Farm! A wheelchair accessible ground floot suite made it so easy for us as a family and the pool was amazing. A beautiful location with two fab pubs around the corner!

The house is great for a group of friends or families with children. The pool was loved by all but particularly the children. So the British weather cannot spoil a stay here at any time of year. The house is warm and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen is well equipped. There is a child gate at the bottom of the stairs, I assume to stop any 4 legged friends heading up to bed! Was useful for our 2 year old. Would have been even better if there had been one at the top too but realise that only matters if you have tiny people with you.
The hosts were very easy to communicate with to make arrangements. The garden is fully enclosed so no chance of furry four legged friends or children escaping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was our third stay at Home Farm, and will not be our last! It is the perfect place for a special celebration and the village is beautiful with a couple of lovely pubs to visit and nice dog walks.
We are a group of friends made up of 4 families and there really is something for everyone here. The house is really spacious and very well equipped, we even managed to cook a New Years Day roast for 12 with ease.
The swimming pool is absolutely amazing, such a luxury and incredibly hard to get the kids out of it!
I honestly don’t think you could find a better place for getting together as a group and making memories to last a lifetime. Thankyou Home Farm!

Recently stayed with family members ranging from 1-92. Plenty of room for us all and we enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine. A very well equipped kitchen with 2 large fridge freezers and dining area perfect for all of us. The accessible suite and pool were the main reasons for booking due to my daughter and elderly mums mobility issues. The suite was great all on one level with a wet room. However the pool wasn't accessible as no hoist. The rest of us did enjoy the pool although we were expecting it to be a little warmer.

Lovely charming house, in a quaint village setting, but within close reach of Scarborough and it’s amenities. The house has all the facilities you need. The indoor pool a hit with the all the family. A great place for a multi generation break.

A wonderful setting and great social space for family celebration. Everything is extremely well organised and provides spaces and variety for family fun in the garden, the pool and the house itself. We accommodated our family (aged between 2 to 72 years of age) and found fun and laughter in a wonderful location close to Scarborough attractions.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Home Farm, celebrating 3 family birthdays (7 adults and 6 children). The accessible room downstairs was perfect for my son who is a wheelchair user and his carer. There was plenty of room for all of his equipment. The pool was amazing and well used by us all. The village was lovely and there was plenty of parking. Scarborough and Whitby both have Changing Places toilets which make getting out for the day easier. We would definitely return to Home Farm.

Home Farm Scarborough was the perfect retreat for the whole family both young and old. A great base to visit Whitby, and Thornton-le-Dale.

Just returned home from staying at Home Farm.
It was the best we have stayed in so far. Very spacious and well equipped, good location, large garden, easy parking and quick responses from owners to questions.
The lounge is a little dark as it looks into the pool room from one window. The top suite is quirky as the bed is set between the beams so you have to be careful not to bang heads/shoulders as you get in. Also no blinds on the dormer windows so very light, you are however provided with an eye mask and I slept better than I expected!
Drying clothes/costumes was not easy because of the weather so we had to put the heating on, could do with some instructions on how to work it. Also not much local information, a folder with recommendations would be helpful.
