I needed an EICR report and it…

I needed an EICR report and it initially seemed very fine but once the job was completed they said it failed and wanted nearly £1k to put it right. I thought I was being scammed so called another electrician for another test and it passed straight away with no extra work needed.
I'd say best to avoid the company!

I am sharing my personal experience…

I am sharing my personal experience working with a company operating under the name Home Host Electrical. Unfortunately, after completing the agreed-upon work, I was not paid for my services despite multiple follow-ups.

This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing, especially given the time and effort invested. I’m sharing this publicly so that other contractors, freelancers, or potential partners are aware and take extra precautions before working with this business.

This is just my personal experience — I hope it helps others make informed decisions.

Do not trust them

Rubbish service, do not trust any plumbers they send. I booked on behalf of my landlord through 'YOUR REPAIR' landlord insurance. Job was given to Home Hosts and they sent a plumber.
First day he took pictures and went away. A week later I reminded them that I'm still waiting for repair. They said someone will come between 3-6pm. Waited 3 hours and no one came. Again they gave me 11 am-12pm time for today. Again no one came and after calling them they say they can't contact the plumber!!!
So they wasted 3 days.

Be careful of this company!Scam!

Be careful of this company!

I have got a EICR certificate done with the firm and firstly they miss the appointment and pushed it to three days later.
then they pick on some small fuse issue - the fuse fitting MCB is not ties to the hob and ask for 140 pounds to fix it. a MCB box only cost 2 pounds but they charge 24 pounds. and 120 pounds for human which might take less than 15 mins if this is an
The funny thing is that my rental flat is new build back to 2020 and fuse fitting and hobs are fitted by the developer. I gone back to the developer and they sent a consultant to check it and confirm it was not a problem as the flat issued EIC when completion. If the fuse box doesnt fit initially, it would not pass the first EIC test. Also it is a flat within a block and no other neighbour had same problem.
Also i found this firm from website and they disapear from the marketing of the website now. I wonder what qualification they have and pure scam.
Be careful this company to scam landlords! Try other firms!

Highly recommended. Thank you!

Richard and Philippe were/are fantastic. Very quick turnaround, swift and efficient communication before, during and after. They not only worked to identify the problem but also undertook checks to future-proof as well. Highly, highly recommended. Thanks both!

Avoid at all cost!

Avoid at all cost! The owner has no dignity, avoided conversation on the payment, eventually decided not to pay for the service we provided to his company. If you are looking for a scammer Richard is the top one!

Terrible

This company guaranteed 5 working days but it took 2 weeks to get e report. No one rang, emailed me. The report also missed out plug sockets claimed furniture was in the way. This delay resulted in me loosing a tenant. The company wouldn’t even give a discount. It’s bad business, your reputation is everytime. I’d never use this company again.

Avoid at any cost - Home Hosts Electrician Ltd

Avoid Home Hosts Electrician Ltd - I wouldn't hire this company - they profit from people's misery.

Beware. They offer discounted rates for EICR, then send amateur electricians who fail it, generating invoices for further unnecessary work. They refuse to provide failed certificates and ignore emails and calls, leaving you trapped. They push for unnecessary additional jobs. Despite a recent professional upgrade - new consumer unit, cabling etc, they failed my EICR and generated invoices for further work £275.

I ignored as I smelt a rat and call another company who passed it the next day. Their electrician left a mess, didn't leave a sticker on the unit as required by law, and exposed circuit breakers, posing a grave danger. They're unresponsive to complaints. Avoid them at all costs; it's a scam!

Stay away!

Came out to give me a eicr. While here said something was wrong and failed the eicr. Came back to fix the 1 sockets but apparently there was something else wrong which they did not tell me. Played with the fuse box and said sky eicr had passed except they wrecked the security system. Now the alarm keeps beeping. An issue which never happened prior. They sent back the electrician who said they “fixed it” as a temporary measure but do not turn off the power ! Again this was never an issue prior. Now the alarm system is still beeping and when I try and contact home host I get no reply! Awful company. Will be taking this further

Top company

Luke kept me updated regarding his time of arrival, and when he did arrive he was extremely polite and thorough when conducting the electrical inspection, and explained the process clearly.I would recommend Home Hosts and will be using them again
