Thank god I read these reviews
Thank god I read these reviews! I enrolled with HomeRun a few weeks ago. After registering my interest in a man with a van, I quickly received a phone call from a man offering to provide his service for £28. Oddly, however, I then received an email from them saying the best quote was £120 which is outright extortion! I wanted to move a single chair from my mum's house to her care home, just 4 miles away.
Clearly Homerun do not provide 'best quotes' and worse still, I feel that they are breaching the GDPR by passing my mobile number to other tradesmen. I am not happy!!
exploitative business model, for cleaners, Handyman and gigi workers
To be honest these guys with floods of job every 5 minutes seems just like a joke to me, they charge your card with a minium of £30 you bid for the job to find out you dont get the job, then with the same average they keep poping up just to drain your money, peronally I will not recommedn them to anyone, whoever did is based in Delaware in the USA which is a very hidden location for such a business to scam people in the UK, I dont recommend them to no one
Upfront costs – You’re charged a minimum of £30 just to bid on a job.
No guarantee of work – You pay, but often don’t get the job.
High frequency of irrelevant job alerts – Designed to make you keep paying and bidding.
Suspicious business location – Registered in Delaware, USA, but targeting UK workers, which can make accountability difficult.
Waste of money
Let's start with the good. Not many people use this website and therefore you have a higher chance of winning a bid (but not really, I'll come to that later). The website and the app are pretty clean and easy to use. I find the website is a little better than the app. That's pretty much it. When you provide an offer, you have the option to see the phone number for the customer, which is useful.
Now the bad parts.
- They charge you per offer you provide. There is NO calculation and therefore you may bid £9 on one flat pack assembly, and £1 on another.
- You pay for offers, regardless if you win them or not. Either way, you lose. As I mentioned about the offer costs above, can vary. I have yet to see any emails stating a job was confirmed, and I lost out. No idea if these jobs are even real.
- No customer ever answers their phone, not the problem of the software, but makes me wonder what is going on.
- Sent a couple of emails to support, and have yet to receive a response, it's been at least 2 weeks now. Did not receive an automated response to say they had received the original email.
I know it's only four cons, but when you see how the software runs, it makes no sense to keep at it. The cons outweigh the pros. I use other apps, and have made more on them than on here. I shall not be topping up the pot.
Awful system
Very clunky system, which has a slow update, does not have the features that it claims and the help pages advise you to do things which you are unable to do.
AVOID - They will spam you with SMS messages
Signed up to see what it was all about and have been literally inundated with SMS messages telling me to download the app. 14 messages in 4 hours. No thanks !!!

This website shares your number with scammers!
Unfortunately I gave them my number and my name etc before checking the reviews on Trustpilot, after I gave my number to this website I started to receive messages and calls from scammers with landline from other parts of the world. After that I deleted my account but I still receive the calls I'm really upset!! DO NOT SHARE YOUR NUMBER WITH THIS WEBSITE EVER!! BE CAREFUL!
Fake identities
Received a quote for an independent Building Controller. The person that responded took the identity of a genuine company, emailed a fake document after being paid and has now disappeared. Homerun have no vetting so anyone can register, commit fraud and then disappear. Great app for criminals
Chest of drawer
Ikea chest of drawer done by Mr Mick he did a very good job very much satisfied from his work ..
Do not use this site
I signed up started to receive quotes received a phone call who said will message on watsapp received a what app from Valens construction agreed terms and a price paid deposit and then the contractor started messing me about on when he was coming. They did offer refund of my deposit after I dispensed with their service as they attended my address, if I can't trust them to turn up, I am not going to give them my bank details. Ended up doing the job myself. Homerun were no help when I wanted to write a review on the company, they delayed answering and made things too difficult and only way of stopping receiving quotes was to delete my account
PRIVACY PROTECTION ZERO
THIS COMPANY SHARES YOUR NAME, PHONE AND ADDRESS TO THE PUBLIC, I HAVE RANDOM PEOPLE CALLING ME THAT NOW KNOW MY NAME, PHONE AND ADDRESS, BEWARE DO NOT EVEN PLACE A JOB HERE
They made my contacts public without asking me.
I made a request on their website and apparently they showed my.phone number to everyone (later I found the setting to make it private but they didn't explicitly ask me before making my contacts public).
I started getting lots of verification codes in sms and now I'm concerned what scam my number can be used for.
I deleted my account of course but that's horrible. Didn't even get to the actual services.
Had a reply to my request for a boiler…
Had a reply to my request for a boiler replacement.
Response was very quick but after a few messages back and forth when I asked for Gas Safe registration details I heard no more!
SCAM? I think so.
Beware of homerun scamming tradesmen
Beware of homerun scamming tradesmen. Most of the leads are fictious (fake) profile created by homerun themselves to make money! Non existing clients with fake numbers or unable to make contact at all. No customer service from homerun, they don't provide their phone number for specific reasons.
I had a terrible experience
I had a terrible experience, never ever recommend anyone to trust . Just take the money and wont do any work. Homerun doesnt take the responsibility as well to assist Customer. I am proceeding with a legal complaint for this and the way they cheat the customers is so insane.
They make your contact details public
When you ask for a simple quote, they give out your personal contact details. I wanted a quote, not to have my phone number handed out.
Bait you with price quotes but just…
Bait you with price quotes but just take your phone number and dont give the quote
I want to deposit 30£
I want to deposit 30£
Don't know why automatically charge me 100£ ok
After when I pay for Job I text to customers and customers answering me that he is looking for A Job it's a Total Joke this site Don't have even customers service phone number
This site is just useless.
This site is just useless.. You have to pay even before you can ask a question or even send a quote for a job.
I am a Website Designer and each time I get thier jobs posted on this site, I'm always told to pay a certain sum of money before I can send a quote. I don't know why they can't chnage their policy such that ONLY WHRM YOU GET AWARDED A JOB, AND GEY PAID, THEN THEY CAN REMOVE NECESSARY FEES FROM THE CUSTOMER'S CHECKOUT.. This willl be much better and would really help.. Because as it is now the site is a complete scam from what I've seen and heard.. They should only charge for money when someone gets paid for a job to do. Payments should be made on this site so that they can monitor it and ensure their fees are deducted.. If not this way then it's useless.. Please see how Ebay works...
