Very pleased with the plumbing service…
Very pleased with the plumbing service from John Lewis. I was told upfront what the costs would be and understood the contract before I confirmed the booking. I was able to upload photos and gave measurements to help the process. This meant there were no suprises and a similar radiator was purchased by the plumbing engineer and efficiently replaced. The engineer was skilled, professional and courteous and I am very happy the work was done so well. I would highly recommend John Lewis Home Solutions and will use them for all my home needs.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Was quoted 100 pounds that magically grew to 5 times this amount. Was not quoted for parts before they were purchased so had no choice in the matter. Was totally swindled by an unscrupulous company that hires crooks. Look elsewhere please
Be careful what you agree to
Be careful what you agree to. I was quoted £140 to fit a PIR sensor in my bathroom. I had disconnected the old one, and removed but did not know how to wire the three wires to the new sensor that I had purchased. Assumed that this quote would be adjusted according to the work carried out. The electrician(who I have no complaints about, polite, helpful etc) took around 10 minutes to connect the wires and push the fitting into the ceiling. I was still charged the £140. I asked John Lewis if this could be looked at, but they stated this was what I had agreed to in the "contract". I also waited nearly a week for the appointment. Not happy, will not use again due to the cost. £14 per minute is an excessive charge in my opinion.

Casey arrived on time to our new build home to hang pictures, mirrors, shelves and cabinets. He did a fantastic job! We are delighted with his workmanship and would definitely recommend him. He is polite and friendly, nothing to much trouble for him and very patient. He cleaned up after his work and left us having fitted over 48 items, large and small. This really is a home solution
Having been let down by a plumber who didn't show up, I stumbled across this John Lewis service via Google, downloaded the app and made an appointment. The Home Solutions plumber, Loucas, showed up on time and was very polite and courteous. He diagnosed the problem (a damaged washer on the ball valve in the loft), gave me a rough quote and within 15 minutes the job was done. I swiftly received an email regarding payment by credit card (which I'd added to the app) together with a detailed breakdown of costs, which are recorded permanently on the app, as are the tradesman's contact details. It's an incredibly efficient service, and a big relief to find a home solutions service I can trust, with the added bonus of being run by a company, John Lewis, with a great reputation for customer service. This is a real find.
Good service, annoying admin
Being asked to review the service a second time when I've already rated and reviewed on John Lewis' own website is annoying. They should enable cross-posting. But the service was excellent. The contractor chosen was professional and did a great job, the quote was fair and I have the reassurance of the John Lewis name to back it up. Highly recommended.
Excellent Service
I found this service quick, efficient and so easy to use. Finding a plumber is always fraught with problems so I was delighted to discover Home Solutions - the service removed the hit and miss element of finding a good tradesman.
Did not turn up for the booking
I booked for a person to give me a quote to replace my garden fence, the booking said that he would arrive between 8am and 1pm, booking ref 21627, he didn't arrive, I rang Home Solutions, they said that they would contact him to find out when he would arrive, I told them to forget it, I had already been waiting for 5 hours. I then received an email saying that the booking had been cancelled and that they looked forward to seeing me again, the booking was not cancelled, Home Solutions failed to arrive, do they say that it's cancelled as this is good for their stats and doesn't show that they did not turn up.

Stephen turned up in good time and was very efficient..didn't take him long to fit two Nest 2nd Gen room stats and explained how they work..no problems whatsoever so far..don't really expect there be any..easy to use..just fit and forget.very little disruption.Thanks for as job well done.
