The most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.
I'd like to make my review as fair as possible, so what I will say, is that I was very pleased with my wreath and foliage kits (for now, unless they also break), and I was well aware of the long delays when ordering my home sign (which I am shocked to learn are still in place - surely 9 months later you would have caught up by now/hired enough staff to prevent such long delays, but hey ho)...
However, 8 months after receiving my home sign and putting it up, I went outside one morning to find one of the numbers on the floor, with what appeared to be sticky tape left in the shape of the number on the plaque. At this stage, I tried to find an email address for them on their website, only to discover they'd removed it, and also changed the spelling of their company (was HomeestyleUK, now HomesttyleUK). I did some basic research on google, only to discover some awful reviews of unprofessional customer service on Trustpilot, as well as another forum which I was unfamiliar with, but nonetheless the reviews were there and all extremely poor and of similar content. I then contacted them via Instagram as this appeared to be my only option, at this stage, worrying I was going to be treated with the same poor service as all of those other reviews. Well, little did I know just how poor this service would be!...
Long story short, they threw their 28 day warranty period at me, to which I responded, but it's an outdoor product?! Surely they expect their outdoor products to last longer than 8 months? Especially as they aren't the easiest things to put up and keep replacing. I was also quoted with the "we have made and shipped 24,000 signs and haven't ever heard of house numbers falling off" which is a load of garbage, as you cannot tell me I'm the only customer this has happened to in 24,000 orders - laughable really.
Anyway, they continued to tell me that they "do not use sticky tape" regardless of the fact I was providing clear photos and a video of the tape (that I could peel away) that was left on the plaque. I made them aware that I was worried I would be treated in the same manor as all of their other bad reviews, quoting the forum that I had come across whilst searching for their email address, to which Nicole then threatened me with "We will however be happy to share that you use bully forums"! WOW. Not once had I made any threats to use this forum, I was simply expressing my concerns that I would be treated in the same way, which clearly, I now have been.
Amongst many other unprofessional comments on their behalf (too many to list), the best part was yet to come...
I had managed to locate an old email address for them and emailed them with my concerns regarding my number falling off. I got a response (AFTER the Instagram responses) to say "I'm really sorry your number 2 has fallen off we will send you a new one out so you can replace it. It is quite simple to apply".
Of course, I then responded extremely confused, to say this was a conflicting response to which I had received on Instagram, and that I did not need a replacement number '2' as I still had the old one. I also questioned what they meant by "easy to apply" as that would suggest to me that they DO use sticky tape (even though they had assured me several times that they do not), or at least provide me with a replacement glue to use?
I then receive a second response saying "We don't use sticky tape; we haven't ever used sticky tape on our numbers. This item is out of warranty you have been told correct information. Our warranty period is 28 days from day of receipt" WTH?!!
Now wait for it, here's the BEST part!!! ... I then receive something hilarious in the post... a replacement number 2... WITH STICKY TAPE!!!! Not only on the acrylic number, but the foam shaped number too, meaning I was expected to stick the acrylic number 2 to the foam shaped number 2, and then the number 2 back onto the plaque, proving that they use sticky tape on an outdoor product. Of course it’s not going to last a winters frost?!
I of course tried to contact them again to express my dissatisfaction and my disbelief of the entire service received with my complaint, to which I got… BLOCKED!!
Absolutely disgusting that a company can get away with treating their customers in this way. They do not deserve your well-earned money – DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SHOPPING WITH THEM – Etsy have some far nicer and more sustainable home signs, at a way more reasonable price too with no 8 week delays!!
