On a supposed cruise to the fjords in…

On a supposed cruise to the fjords in May, we ended up going to Oslo instead due to adverse weather. Oslo was shut as it was bank holiday! Decided to at least do the Hopon.
At the port we were each charged for 2 people. Received an apology but he didn’t know how to refund us! He had to ring Nicky at HO who said we would be refunded before we got home 3 days later. We didn’t so emailed them. I was sent a claim form and a confirmed receipt from them saying refund within 15 days. No. Nothing. So I emailed again. No reply. After another 3 weeks I completed another claim form and filled in full details yet again as to what had happened. Another confirmation of receipt of claim. Another 3 weeks have passed and still no refund. This happened 25 May and we’re now 16July. THIS IS THEFT!!!
In desperation I rang Hopon London today as their website says ‘call us. Customer support is available to take your call 24/7’. No they’re not!! I was told I can’t speak to them. I have to email. I give up!! Don’t use this company. Get a local bus instead.
PS the bus journey itself was dreadful. 1 1/2 hours supposedly, but we weren’t on it that long. The earphones didn’t work so no one knew where we were going and the driver spent more time getting on and off for a coffee!! As I said, get a local bus instead.

Tragedy

We took the bus in Trondheim. 45€ for nothing. Very very old bus. Rusty. It was a cold, rainy day, no AC inside so the all the windows for foggy - you could see a thing! The audio guide is record with AI! Cheap. Often you don't understand what the guide is talking about. And some parts it's silent, because there was detour. The driver and ticketsellers were nice and helpful, but the experience was tragic.

After waiting for the bus to arrive

After waiting for the bus to arrive, I was told by the driver that the wheelchair ramp wasn't working and upon looking at the underside of the ramp, the bus was full of holes where the ramp was attached to.

Are buses exempt from MOT's (ministry of transport testing, in the UK).

I waited for another bus to arrive and I was told that there wasn't any ramp for a wheelchair yet on the side of the bus there was a disability sign, with a wheelchair ♿.

When I finally managed to get on one, it was an experience and a half, as the bus driver didn't wait for me to get into the wheelchair space, he just zoomed off around the corner.

Just don't - it was horrendous

Just don't
3 reasons to run away screaming:
- The chauffeur/ticketseller was not being upfront regarding the schedule and waiting time - we wasted one whole hour.
- The customer service does not reply at all, I am still waiting for a response on email after almost 2 months and 2 follow-up e-mails.
- Sitting inside a bus does not give any vibe of anything new and exciting, you might as well watch a movie on a screen from the place you're at - instead I suggest you just step out and use all your senses, look people in the eyes, communicate and experience it first hand (the only exception to this is if you have a disability and cannot get around by foot, in my opinion).

I have always wanted to try one of these buses, I imagined they must be a pleasant and easy way to have a curated tour in a city. Not anymore.
One thing I know for sure is, I will never ever do this again, it was horrendous.

We had 5 hours in Oslo - 4 hours excluding unboarding and boarding, so very limited time.
We came across this bus after deboarding and was told by the driver that the roundtrip was 1,5 hours and that they would depart after 15 minutes. We were also shown the specific route on a map we got and the next stop after our ferry where we got on, was en route to downtown.
So we paid a whole lot of money for the tickets and got on and waited.
Finally we departed - but - horror! We went backwards and not forward on the route! It turned out we went back into a huge shipping area at another harbour where we waited and picked up even more cruiseship passengeres from different cruiselines. After this extra off-loop trip, we turned around and - horror! - Came back to where we first got on the bus - now one hour had passed since departure though and so we had waisted ONE HOUR sitting inside a dreadful carrier, doing nothing and experiencing nothing except the backside of an industrial harbour area.
It was a scandal.
As soon as we hit city center we got off and my holiday mood was being tested big time. I complained to the driver who had sold us the tickets but all of a sudden he seemed to not really understand my English - just awful behavior and service.
And now almost 2 months after complaining to the company, I am still waiting for a reply by email and an answer from them.

JUST DON'T - it's a big time tourist-trap.

Do not trust the bus to arrive in Ålesund

We wanted to make a stop at Fjellstua in Ålesund and then take the next bus back after taking a lunch but there never came any bus and we had to take a taxi back.
By other means there is no hoponhopoff situation here.
The audio was poor as well and their customer support was rude when I contacted them.
