Warning to tourists using Hospital Joya Cancun.
I attended on 1 March 2026 for treatment of a locked knee and paid 150,000 MXN. I was later told that 27,096.65 MXN would be refunded within 3 days.
After repeated follow-ups, I was contacted on 31 March requesting my bank details and told the refund had been processed. I was then advised it would take 2 weeks.
It is now mid-April and no refund has been received.
WhatsApp messages are now being ignored and emails to administration have gone unanswered despite multiple attempts to resolve this directly.
I have now had to initiate a chargeback through my credit card provider and file formal complaints with Mexican consumer authorities.
I would strongly advise international tourists to be extremely cautious regarding billing and refunds.
