HostNext’s vendor lock-in at its worst.

HostNext’s domain policy is deliberately misleading and manipulative. They offered a “free domain” with their hosting plan but are now demanding a release fee when we try to move away – something that’s completely against normal industry practices. Most hosting companies allow you to transfer your domain if you’re no longer hosting with them. Locking domains and demanding payment to unlock them — despite claiming it was free — is shady and unethical. Be careful before trusting them. This is vendor lock-in at its worst.

Avoid HostNext if you value your independence and data. Their policies are designed to trap customers and extract unfair charges. We are reporting this on all platforms.
