The hotel is in an excellent spot
The hotel is in an excellent spot - located on the Grand Canal and literally a few minutes walk from the bus. The location could not be better.
The window of our room opened up onto the Grand Canal - we were blown away.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Would we stay here again? Yes.
But my caveat when recommending would be:
- the air con in our room didn't work. It was hot weather and if we opened the window it was noisy and we also got bitten by mozzies. Window closed was too hot.
- there was no TV (which it states there is in each room). HOWEVER - we really did not want it. I don't think it's needed at all. Venice is too beautiful to be inside watching TV!
- the breakfast is in a hotel around the corner (about 20 steps away).
The food is basic but adequate.
Examples of what was on offer:
croissants (almond, chocolate or plain), mini baguettes, jam, marmalade, nutella.
Tomatoes, cucumber, proscuitto and other Italian meats, bread and cheese - and a toastie making machine. DYI toasties.
- biscuits
- cake x 3 types
- boiled sweets
- the coffee machine gave coffee which was not great, but hot chocolate which was fab.
- hot water and tea bags
- orange juice is not nice.
- hard boiled eggs, yoghurt and tinned fruit - all nice.
- cereal and milk/soya milk.
Our room had a shower which was not very powerful. It took a long time to wash hair and the water was sometimes warm and sometimes not.
The hotel was really good value for money - and I would stay there again.
