I purchased a 2 litre Sänger hot water bottle from this retailer in January 2026 at full retail price, expecting a recently manufactured product as I was replacing an older bottle.
The bottle I received was manufactured in July 2024, meaning it was already approximately 19 months old at the time of purchase. While technically still within two years of manufacture, I found this disappointing given that hot water bottles are safety items made of rubber and their lifespan is commonly linked to age.
When I contacted the company to query this, the response was defensive and dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the reasonable expectation of receiving newer stock when purchasing “new” from a specialist retailer, the reply focused on disputing consumer guidance and referencing their return window.
A more understanding, customer focused approach or even a small goodwill gesture would have reflected better service. Unfortunately, the tone and handling of the matter mean I would not purchase from this retailer again.
Customers choosing a specialist shop often do so expecting better stock rotation and service than from general retailers.
