We were able to get off in the Mt in stead of going to Ackland, which was a great thing to be able to do have just got home from cruising oand we're booking the next cruise for somewhere for 2027

We have just got home from cruising on the Celebity Edge. It was fantastic, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The meals we had were top notch, and the shows in the evening were awesome. There was something on board to do every day. The service we had on board was just lovely, they couldn't do enough for us. Our cabin was excellent, we had an infinitely balcony and a concergere. We booked it with Nicky Aitkin from House of Travel at the plaza. She was excellent to deal with.

Awful- DO NOT USE.

Awful. Misleading. Takes advantage of you if you’re young and admit that it’s your first trip together overseas.
Tried to hide $3500 in commission fees in activities, then hid a 6 and a half hour bus ride in the itinerary that we found when we googled ourselves.
You can’t even complain because there’s NO COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT. You call the contact number, they give you other numbers and every single time you end up back at the same contact centre person who can’t help you and informs you there’s no other option but to go directly to your agent who’s the owner of their branch and already making you uncomfortable and stressed.

To Be Avoided

Booked flights online and had to chase them up to send the itinerary, which was a significant effort considering the 30+ minute wait for their call centre. Now they are regularly spamming me with no working unsubscribe option, and they are ignoring my demand for them to stop. Don’t get involved with these incompetent clowns.

I went into house of travel in Te Awamutu to book a cruise. Normally I deal with Eilish who is amazing but off on leave. I had to deal with Tania who basically wasn't interested as it's not one of our holidays. She was rude and patronizing. Last time I dealt with her I asked for flight information so I could book a shuttle only to be told I was wasting my money and should do it another way. I've spent $80k on travel in the last 12mths, but I'll not deal through your agency anymore.

Papamoa House of Travel

I found Carly at House of Travel, Papamoa to be very fast and efficient. When I had to change a booking it was no problem and all done by the next day. Having the security of a good Travel agent takes all the worry away from being a solo traveller. I would always use House of Travel for my trips.

All-Inclusive Holiday to Bali

We saw an advert on Facebook, 7 nights in Bali, all inclusive resort and flights included, $3299pp. We used the contact button to enquire about the deal, and when the agent called us, we asked how much it would be to extend the deal to ten nights. He came back a day later with a very reasonable price so we booked straight away. However, unknown to us, he had changed us from all-inclusive to bed and breakfast but never made this clear. We only realised the change two weeks before flying. When queried, the agent doubled down and told us we would need to pay to upgrade to all-inclusive, which he quoted at $3325pp, a total of $6650! Thats on top of the $8000 we had already paid! We obviously declined and when we arrived in Bali we upgraded at the front desk and only paid an additional $3214 in total, so half the price House of Travel wanted. However, this still made this a REALLY expensive holiday and it wasn't a deal of any sort, we could of booked this ourselves for far cheaper and we will NEVER use House of Travel again. Absolutely do NOT recommend this company.

No customer service at all

I went into the Milford branch recently to ask one simple question. Was my passport current enough for travel to New Caledonia? I had read two different answers but wasn't sure. I felt the hostility the minute I stepped into the store. No pleasantries at all, just an aggresive attitude. She didn't like the fact that I had booked online and said "what happens if you get into trouble?" This had nothing to do with my question. I finally got an answer after a few more uneccessary comments and having heard enough I stood up and walked out saying "It's all about customer service and she said that's what we have and I said, "well you certainly don't". Time she retired if she hates everyone so much..

House of Travel …. Rip off

So, I had to cancel my trip, even thou if I had made the booking myself, I would have got a 100% refund, I booked thru House of Travel so out of a $3500 deposit I only get 10 per cent back. Total rip off, don’t waste your money ….. book your own trip.

I think 1 star may be too many!!

I think 1 star may be too many!!

We booked a two person cruise with House of Travel Hobsonville. All seemed good until the friends we were travelling with had to postpone their cruise due to visa issues. The person that I was sharing with decided that she would like to continue with the trip and was told that a single fare would be $1300 on top of their half of the cabin and i would have to forfeit my half ($2970) of the fare. The only thing is I have checked the cost of a single cabin and the cost ranges between $8000 and $9400. So my sailing 'buddy' is being charged half of the usual single cabin fare?????? I don't believe it I think that the fare I'm 'forfeiting' is being added to my 'buddy's' fare to make up the difference.

Having previously had a poor experiecne…Yes

Having previously had a poor experiecne with the Barrington Branch I visited the Hornby Branch but found their service was the same appalling. 11.30 am visit to arrange Aussie holdiday, was told despite only 1 customer they had no one to deal with me and the Manager sat at the front and could hear this and my answer that I would go elsewhere and she didn't even look up. Too bad I used Flight Centre Barrington with Hannah arraned everything efficiently and very pleasantly. No oint in complianing to House of no travel as my last complaint was not even acknowledged, best avoid HOT like a plague

Disgusting

She is a vile and disgusting human being that claims that children are guilty and deserve death. I don’t care if it comes from ignorance or if it’s aimed towards a certain ethnic group. Someone like her should not be able to lead a normal life after saying something like that and proceeding to laugh about it in the face of people that are mourning loved ones.
