I rented an apartment from Ms. Zimmerman from Housing Anywhere in Frankfurt am Main, starting on 1 January 2026. I will not go into detail about the fact that Ms Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina, did not inform me that I could only pay half of the monthly rent via the platform, as stated in the advertisement. I moved in on 16 January 2026 and had to pay the full monthly rent despite the advertisement on the platform.
I will also not go into detail about the hygiene in the flat and bathroom that we found, or the broken sink and taps, which was not shown on the photos.
What left me with a very bad impression was the tenant in the neighbouring room. According to Ms Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina, he is a man who sometimes drinks too much alcohol but is not dangerous.
On the very first night, when I was sleeping alone in my room, the neighbour started screaming hysterically and threateningly and making strange noises. This continued throughout the night.
I immediately informed Ms Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina. Me, a young girl, a student living in a foreign country, was very stressed and did not want to live in a place where I felt threatened. The landlady's reaction was to laugh at me. She explained that even her 11-year-old daughter was not afraid.
The cynical thing about Ms Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina's behaviour is the fact that she did not warn me about this neighbour. She was well aware of the problematic neighbour, as she informed me in a letter that she had known him for 12 years. (He has lived in this house for more than 20 years and we have known him for about 12 years. He may really make a strange impression. But we have absolutely no reservations about him, as he is really reliable and not dangerous. He sometimes drinks a little too much alcohol, but has never done anything to destroy or hurt things or people) Even another, third neighbour came to warn us about his behaviour, not Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina.
I demanded the immediate termination of the tenancy agreement. Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina said that termination is possible with three months' notice or immediately in the event of exceptional grounds for termination. In her opinion, the neighbour's behaviour did not constitute such grounds.
As a result, she refused to refund the money for February 2026, even though I had already left the flat on the third day.
I do not expect to achieve anything with this review . As Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina explained to me, I do not know the laws in Germany. But I know when a person has low morals.
With this letter, I would also like to acquaint you with the morals of Zimmermann, Nicole Katharina – the person who will be your landlord from Housing Anywhere.

Frustrating support experience and privacy breach
I am deeply disappointed with the service. Your AI assistant, 'Laura,' repeatedly denied a simple invoice modification across four separate emails, providing no solution. It took a full week and the eventual intervention of a human agent to resolve the issue in a matter of minutes.
Furthermore, I explicitly revoked my consent for data processing and requested the deletion of my information by the IA provider. Despite this, I am still receiving automated feedback emails, which constitutes a clear breach of my privacy rights. The AI has not facilitated the process; it has acted as a barrier to efficient support and compliance.

My experience with Fuse agency was consistently affected by organizational and communication issues. On the first day of the lease I received the contact details of the person handing over the keys only at the last minute. The apartment originally in my contract was not ready and I was assigned a different address. Contracts had to be amended and reprocessed due to this change.
Throughout my stay contacting the agency was difficult and responses were significantly delayed. Often multiple emails were required to get answers. When alternative apartments were offered it took a long time and only 15 days before the end of the lease was it communicated that a viewing could be arranged and even then it was uncertain.
Mistakes were made in official documents that required additional corrections. I was forced to vacate one month before the official end of my contract. Offers for alternative accommodation were delayed and uncertain, creating unnecessary stress.
During move-out the agency demanded that I leave earlier than the contract specifies and leave the keys in the door lock without a representative present. This is irresponsible and creates security risks and the potential for unjustified deductions from the deposit. I insisted on being present for the final inspection and personally handing over the keys to ensure proper documentation.
The apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped. All furniture was present, kitchen utensils and appliances were available, and the washing machine and other facilities were in working order. However, all of the organizational and communication issues described above severely affected my overall experience and caused significant stress and inconvenience.
Overall my experience was negatively impacted by systematic organizational errors, slow communication, last-minute changes, and improper handling of move-in and move-out procedures. While the lease agreement defines certain conditions, the practical implementation created stress, uncertainty, and unnecessary complications for the tenant.
Upd: my experience with Housing Anywhere Platform itself was positive. Thank you for support!

I used HousingAnywhere to rent an appartment in Helsinki between September and December 2025. The problem is twofold:
- Do not expect proper customer service from HousingAnywhere. They use AI bots for most of their communication, and you'll need to beg for an actual human to respond to your messages. They also do not always explicitely mention that you're talking to a chatbot. They make it look like their emails are sent out by humans when this is obviously not the case.
-I still have not gotten my 1000€ deposit back from my stay there. I have informed HousingAnywhere about this issue, both via mail and via their official complaint system. I have honestly told them that I do not necessarily expect help with legal proceedings, but am simply asking to remove that landlord from the platform. They have not done so, implying that they frankly do not care if people get scammed by landlords on their platform.
To the reader: finding places to stay abroad is hard, I know. Despite this, do not make the mistake I made by trusting HousingAnywhere. They may have their insurance for when you move in, but they clearly don't care if people are still scamming on their site and they will not help you if you get into trouble anyway.
To the reader once more: please do read the reaction from HousingAnywhere below; it's wrapped in neat language but the content is clear. This company does not care if you get scammed by a landlord withholding your deposit.

We loved the location. The harbor views are beautiful. A great selections of restaurants are available, although most are closed in February. The apartment itself is tired. It needs renovation. The kitchen supplies are old and cheap. The furniture is worn. Garbage accumulated in heaps just out front. More dumpsters are needed.

Initially, the platform was easy to use, and the rental process was straightforward. However, I haven't been to the location yet, so I don't know what to expect. I hope everything goes well and there are no surprises.Once I'm there, I'll share more about this experience.

Prompt answers to our demands.
Good follow up of the time for rental.

The building was dirty and sketchy inside. When I got to the apartment it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. And when I tried to enter my rented room someone was living in it. And they also didn't want to give me a full refund.
Btw if you are a woman, know that it very probably that all of your flatmates are males.

Website kept more money than stated in contract; landlord refuses to pay deposit; one receipt missing

The site is advertising to protect against scams. However, this turned out to be only for the first two days.
Its unclear to me for what i have to pay a surcharge every moth to housing anywhere if they don't provide legal assistance when needed - i think their advertisement is misleading

HousingAnywhere is a great option for a mid-term stay. Everything went smoothly. It's great to have this option before comiting to a longer stay in a certain city.

We rented an apartment with HousingAnywere. It happened to be too noisy at night to be able to sleep. A condition that we understood as the apartment being unappropopiate to live. We communicated to the landlord the problem, but they didn't do anything to solve it. At the time the answer of the landlord arrived, it was too late to get help from HousingAnywere. They were asking us to pay an other fee to change the apartment. So we felt that we rented a faulty apartment and we didn't get support from HousingAnywere.

The flat is nice considering it's made for 15 people. The mood is really nice (only ERASMUS people) but too much little characters and footnotes that could cost you a lot of money in the contract.
Thanks for the stay

Great! It's in the city center. Landlord is very helpful and kind!

Even less than 1. They let me without an house 7 days before leaving to Spain and they will refound my 2000 euros in 10 days so if I want to have an house before I have to find other thousand euros! More than that they will not redound the 30 euros or fees of payment! And the person who was giving me the house had good reviews so you can’t trust them even when they have good reviews
