While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I phoned How-to-repair at their suggestion.
Would I ever use this service again? ABSOLUTELY NO WAY. Paul was rude and uptight from the start, mellowing slightly when I think he realised he might of been a little heavy handed
Paul: What can I do for you
Me: Our dishwasher has...
Paul: Look mate I get hundreds of people asking about dishwashers everyday, which model.
Me: DW686 Be...
Paul: NO. What make is it?
Me: Erm a a Beko
Paul: What's the problem with it?
Me: It fills with water stops for a while then fills with water again.
Paul: Look mate, how can I diagnose the problem from that description?
Me: I wrote you a detailed e-mail about the problem and you (Meaning your company) advised me to give you a ring.
Paul: I didn't advise you to give me a ring!
He also questioned my understanding of reed switches - which I believe work by magnetism. I told him I'd tested the reed switch with a magnet and a multimeter. To which he responded with some scorn. So I've just checked to see how one would check to see if a reed switch was working:- A helpful Aussie chap on youtube used a multimeter in continuity and a magnet to test his reed switch.
That is exactly the process I explained I'd been through - Paul was scornful of my methods, questioning my ability to carry out any repair.
I could go on but...
I'm not sure what I did to annoy Paul, perhaps it's my voice, perhaps I wasn't quick enough in responding to his questions.
Either way I hope if you ring him he's in a better mood than I caught him in this morning.
Visited this site when my oven element gave out. Sold me the exact replacement part I needed and had a really helpful video tutorial explaining exactly how to install it. Saved me £££ and my kitchen is up and running again in no time! Highly recommended.
