Hyundai Taunton
I had my i20 serviced 17/03/2026 reported that I have been having issues starting, sometimes the battery is completely flat or it appears that way also the stop/start hasn’t worked for 18 months or 6 months old. On the last service I reported the stop/start issue and was told you don’t use the car enough as it’s only done 3000 mile, I Said I must have missed that bit in the owners manual. Anyway they said the battery was naff fitted a new one and serviced the car.
I have used the car for 4/5 trips but have noticed that the stop/start light which was permanently amber does not show anything now and does not work, rang the dealership and told to book it in for investigation in two weeks time NOT ACCEPTABLE obviously they don’t do the job/check properly

Spent along time dropping into Taunton Hyundai to look at and test drive the top of the range Hyundai Santa Fe. At the point of deciding between cars popped back in with the price offered by another nearby dealer in Exeter and requested they might like to get back to me with a comprable offer. They said they would but after a week - silence! Not even a courtesy call to say they can't match the deal. Now placed the order with Hyundai Exeter with a cracking deal! To be honest I don't even think I will use Howards for servicing the new vehicle even though closer such was the level of disinterest I have been met with.
Update.
Credit to Hyundai Directors for enacting a response by Hyundai Taunton as a result of my post above. My representative at Howards Hyundai Taunton personaly explained he had for personal bereavement reasons taken leave after our visit and was not at work. This I accepted was sad and something unforeseen and unavoidable and credit to him for sharing in person. However the Sales Manager was present as part of the conversation we had in relation to the potential purchase and should have stepped up surely and covered for his colleagues unavoidable absence. Standard business practise I would have thought!

We own two hyundais neither more than a year old. Recently something happened to the charging of the battery on our all electric ioniq 5. The resultant effect was for us to have to have the car recovered back to Howards in taunton. Obviously as the car is less than a year old we essentially expected some level of customer service. No. The reality is you can buy a brand new Hyundai, and within a year you may be left carless (with all the complications that causes in life) and then essentially blamed for something that to any reasonable or rational person is a warranty issue and should not be happening to a brand new vehicle.
Based on this experience we are now hugely regretting owning 2 Hyundai's, and can only warn that Howards have no desire to demonstrate even moderate customer service and not only will they certainly not be 'going the extra step' to help, they literally don't want to take any steps at all if they can avoid it!

An excellent visit to Hyundai Taunton for our first service. We’d arranged to be there at 8 with our i20. Excellent experience all round, including lovely sitting area with drinks and biscuits on tap. This was followed up with a video of our service plus a phone call from Dan to check we were happy.

There was a recall fault on my car which was described on the Hyundai site as taking about 40 minutes to rectify. As this was a short time, I waited but it was 3 hours before the car was ready. There was no apology either.

I’ve just purchased a new 208 from Howard’s Peugeot in Taunton,What a fantastic dealership , Total professionalism with exceptional standards, I was informed at every stage of the car build and the final presentation of the vehicle was fantastic, I cannot speak highly enough of Martin who dealt with my purchase , this gentleman is a real credit to Peugeot. I also found Mike the dealership manager very helpful .
I would fully recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership.
