Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with HP.

I purchased a computer directly from the official HP online store, but once the payment was made, it felt like customer service completely stopped caring. My order was split into two deliveries, and the second parcel containing the monitor arrived via DPD with the box already opened and the security tape cut. Due to concerns about the condition and safety of the product, I refused the delivery.

From that point onwards, dealing with HP customer service became an absolute nightmare. The staff were unhelpful, poorly trained, and showed no real interest in resolving the issue. Communication was extremely difficult, and it genuinely felt as though they were avoiding customer calls altogether.

I am still waiting for my refund, which is completely unacceptable. For a company of HP’s size and reputation, the level of after-sales support has been shocking.

I would strongly advise people to think twice before ordering directly from HP. Once they have your money, customer care appears to become a very low priority.

HP Smart Tank 5100 series

Acquired an HP Smart Tank 5100 series printer.
Never buy HP again.
Customer Service does not exist.
I spent dozens of hours connecting printer to my iMac using their "dedicated connection site - 123.hp.com" assuming it would be as easy as "123"! and eventually succeeded only to find it printed greyscale alone. No colour.
After 5 days I deleted the printer from iMac and used the iMac printer dialogue system located in its System Settings. This established connection with full colour capability within 30 seconds.
I was so foolish to trust HP - their systems guys do not know what they are doing.
Trust your computer device and not HP service

This is awful

This is awful. customer service is terrible. I ordered 2 docks for my office. They didn't arrive. They told me it could take 30 working days to investigate. Won't speak to me or transfer me to a manager. They have basically stolen my money

Dreadful Experience - Do not buy

I purchased an Omen 16 L desktop back in November last year. Since purchase I've experienced complete WiFi drop off under reasonably light use, but particularly video calls. This isn't a network issue, its a complete loss of function on the network card (no WiFi options show and the WiFi toggles itself off entirely). I've raised this regularly with HP since just after purchase, and they've had no support to offer other than driver and BIOS updates - and marked the case as resolved unilaterally. A quick search of HP's own user forums makes clear this is a notorious issue with the crappy Realtek 8852BE cards they're sticking in these things, but they are entirely unhelpful in suggesting any alternates you can install, or indeed in offering to replace the card. Avoid them like the plague.

Appalling customer service

I wish I'd read the reviews on here before I ordered my printer.
I ordered a printer on 22/1/26 and received a message from DPD to say it would be delivered the following morning. I changed the delivery date for 26/1/26, again to my home address, and received confirmation it would be delivered then. I checked the message again on 26/1 only to find that the printer had been delivered to a shop on the 23/1. I spent 3 days talking to HP "customer service" and eventually they'd find out what happened but this will take 28 days.. I also consulted Which to ask them what I could do. I emailed HP to complain and received an automated reply saying they'd look into my complaint.
For various reasons I am unable to collect the printer and don't feel that I should have to chase up something which isn't my fault and I didn't give them authority to do, especially when I've spent so much money with them.
The shop name on the delivery notice is incorrect making it more difficult for me to try and sort out. I went into the shop I thought it might be and they told me that DPD collected the printer today. I have no idea when this will be sorted out but I am going to email their CEO to see if it can be sorted out quickly.

Worst customer experience of my life

I ordered one of the new HP Omen MAX 45L desktops in January

I checked before purchasing with sales that the ram was 6000MT/S, was told yes

Since arrival in mid January, I have spent the time endlessly troubleshooting, mostly alone, as the PC does not run at the advertised speeds

Once set to turbo mode to boost the ram to the advertised speed of 6000mt/s the next cold boot results in a recovery screen that requires a full BIOS reset

I purchased the 3 year on site care pack as part of the order

It explicitly states that you get within that 24/7 customer support

The reality is you have a virtual GPT that cannot answer basic questions or have whatsapp / telephone during business hours only

This meant that at one point I was asked to do a 4 hour troubleshoot test, but given no advice on what to do based on the results and to wait until Monday to hear back

While I have been offered a replacement, I have not had any apology, remorse or urgency throughout

I have not been told explicitly that the next PC will not have the same issue

I have paid nearly 4k, to have a PC and care pack that is essentially, false advertising

My first month owning this PC will have consisted of barely using it, troubleshooting alone, then having to send it back and wait an extended period to maybe, if I'm lucky, find out that it was a defect unit

Rather than what it looks like, HP overhyping their specs while hiding in the disclaimer the actual speed of ram

Companies make mistakes, but this is genuinely a horrendous company to put your trust in, there is nothing I can recommend about HP

I went into this knowing the HP Omen line had many scandals and that the Omen Max was supposed to address those, so like to think I am open minded

Absolutely Dreadful Customer Service

I'd prefer to give no stars. Ordered a laptop online over a month ago. It has never turned up at the parcel shop via HP DPD Delivery.

I have tried and tried to get HP to look into it. No help whatsoever. DPD equally as useless. I said OK just give me a full refund and I'll go elsewhere. Very flippant girl said she'd asked her supervisor to process the refund but I got the impression she was just trying to get me off the phone. I'm not confident she did anything at all.

Where do I go to get my money back?
Or at least someone to trace the item.

I wish I'd looked on here before purchasing from this company. Dreadful customer service. AVOID.

HP means Horrible People, BUY ELSEWHERE

On the 15th of October 2025 I purchased an HP wireless keyboard and mouse combo on eBay.
I am only a home user, not a company, the letters on the keyboard were virtually worn off completely after LESS THAN TWO MONTHS USE.
For weeks now I have been sending this company messages via the eBay messaging system, they are pig ignorantly totally ignoring my messages

OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0009na

OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0009na

Purchased this premium gaming laptop priced at £2999. I expected the best of the best. I originally ordered this product for my son at the start of December. This was going to be an early Christmas present. This premium laptop arrived with a quarter of the screen in total darkness because it wasn’t constructed properly. They simply said, return it and we will send you a new one.

Begrudgingly, I did and they’ve sent me the white version of the Omen 16. EVERYTIME you run a game, the laptop becomes unresponsive and the keyboard freezes. I’ve researched this and it’s a very common problem with this model. DO NOT BUY AN OMEN 16 FROM HP.

Their post sales team are disgustingly bad. For a month now I’ve requested a call back from a manager or above and received an incompetent 16 year old each time who contradicts everything the previous employee has said.

This has been the worst customer buying experience I’ve ever face. All they’ve offered a call with tech support who confirmed the second laptop has also had the hardware incorrectly installed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY over this. Our big Christmas surprise was ruined by this god awful company and to top it off, they genuinely DO NOT CARE about customer service. Buy an Alienware or a Lenovo if you want a serious product. Avoid these con artists

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service. Bought my daughter a laptop 4 months ago. The touch pad has stopped working. She is a Law student with online exams in one week. HP will not replace it but are insisting on us returning the laptop to them for a repair which will take up to 15 working days. How is it ok to treat customers like this??

Disgusting After Sales Service!!!!

Disgusting After Sales Service!!!!
I purchased a laptop less than a month ago that has FAILED already and needs to be replaced and I purchased priority warranty and service pack that has an SLA of 1 day but they won't pick up the computer for 1 week and say 5-8 business days for a replacement.

I am an IT Consultant left with a computer and will be claiming a large amount of compensation as even their UK director ignores my emails for help after I called every number and emailed every contact I can find and NO-ONE is helping me escalate this matter.

Thieves. Have not delivered laptop

Spent nearly £500 on a laptop. All I've received is a tracking photo of a parcel next to someone's foot

I complained, they replied they've 'conducted an empty box enquiry ' and the box wasn't empty.
I want to know where they have delivered the box. Cretins.

5 Stars from me

Baffles me why there are only a select few negative reviews on here. Nothing else.
I have purchased many desktop and laptop PCs from HP. Currently on a 17" Omen Gaming Laptop I bought directly from HP where I got an excellent deal and free HyperX headphones thrown-in. Perfect!

Had very little issues in the (almost) 1yr I have owned this laptop. But very recently had one issue. The online HP's AI assistant was surprisingly very thorough and easy to follow. I also used HP's phone support for the same issue however it was dealt with quickly and accurately. Got straight to the problem. Now fixed for good. Thank you.
Can't fault them. Needless to say, HP will be my 1st (and only) destination for future PCs.
It's an honest 5 stars from me.

Website information and contact methods let them down

Very poor customer service and contact methods. Only way to contact them is via chat and staff don't know everything it seems.

Wanted to recycle my old printer, only an option if you live in the US it seems which isn't providing an equal service to all.

I can't fault the printers I've always had, they do work and do the job that I need but support from a human is difficult.other than through chat which I don't like.

Horrendous customer service

Ordered a laptop Sunday evening. Monday morning decided I wanted an upgrade. Phoned HP but they were unable to stop the order.
I have tried on two occasions to return this unopened laptop. I follow instructions on their site and select a collection time.
As stated in their email, the courier is supposed to get in contact- they never have. They also don't honour the select collection so basically, HP are expected me to sit at home and wait for it to be collected without any indication of day or time. You cannot reply to their emails. Their phone and chat are office hours only and I can't find another way to complain. Guess what HP, some people do actually work for a living. Dreadful, awful customer service.

Abysmal customer service, refunds

I ordered a HP Z2 G1a workstation on 2025-08-07 and paid by wire transfer. It turned out they had given me incorrect specifications so I canceled the order on 2025-08-10. Since then, it's been an ordeal involving several email, hours spent on hold for phone or chat with their apathetic customer services reps, and one month later I am still out of pocket for over ₤3000 and they still haven’t refunded me. Needless to say, I will never ever buy anything from HP ever again.

If for whatever reason you do want to deal with them, only pay by credit card.

Non existence customer support

I ordered parts for my laptop from HP Parts and then tried using their return service online to return, however it kept giving error messages. To get support, I tried several channels like chat and phone calls with various people passing me different phone numbers and telling me they can't help as it's not their department. I am not surprised that HP reviews reflect their lack of customer support and poorly trained staff who still live in the 90s.

No computer

I ordered a computer on 14th November and the money left my account instantly. I was told it was next day delivery but absolutely nothing has arrived and I've had no communication for nearly three weeks. When I've tried to ring HP there's been no apology and they've insisted it's been lost by Parcel Force and a new computer is on its way. But no emails to confirm this and no sign of the computer. Absolutely shocking.
