Scam!! Experienced the same. He’s now changed his number to 07454501749 and calls himself Sam.
Same a previous reviews. Contacted via WhatsApp interested my car. They had seen the for sale advert on Gumtree. Had conversation back and forth which seemed legit, however then asked me to send a hpi report, sending me a link to this website. Thought it was odd and checked here. Glad I did. Scammer using number starting 07930

Was legit questions about car im selling, than ask me to do HPI check and send me this website link for http//;www hpiautoreport.com.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE
Same as others now the guy is using following phone number to make contact 0772350xxxx
Scammer. Will message you on WhatsApp pretending to be interested in your car just to get you to buy a “report” from this website.
Yep
Complete and utter scam. Same process as others have reported. Even personalise things to make it more real. Do not use. Check out the positive reviews. The grammar gives you a clue to their validity.
Scam. As others have said, just convinces you to carry out HPI with promise of coming to see your car. PayPal payment then goes to an account in the name of an individual.
Scam Website, They will show interest in your car and send you this link and scam. AVOID and Report
SCAM, AVOID. They'll message about being interested in a car and ask you to use this site.
Scam. Will contact you and insist on HPI check and send a link to their website which will give you publicly available information and then will make excuses not to see the car.
As per previous reviews this is a scammer. He pretends to buy cars you post online then sends link for his HPI check site to get you to pay for the check.
The check only gives publicly available information anyway so use a reputable one from a trusted site
All part of a scam. Avoid is my advice and block anyone who sends you the link as they are fake.
Scammer expressing interest in a car for sale via WhatsApp, then insists you get a HAR for the vehicle on this website suggested by him (which is a scam website - the data is no more than is available publicly for free) and then makes up BS excuses why they can't visit to view the car (dead grandad seems to be a recurring theme)
Very helpful information I felt more confident when buying my new car well worth £8 thanks for your help
