After purchase of genuine HP cartridges…
After purchase of genuine HP cartridges this printer which eats ink. wouldn't connect. Spent days and days but to no avail. The printer is cheap ,lacks connectivity, and the app is useless, so looking for something with a longer life now!
Hp 6032e printer
This HP 6032e printer is hands-down one of the worst pieces of tech I've ever owned. I have put up with this purchase since mid 2024. From day one, the connectivity is a complete disaster – it drops Wi-Fi constantly, refuses to reconnect without endless resets, and the HP Smart app is glitchy and unreliable. Half the time it shows as "offline" even when it's sitting right next to the router. Printing from my phone or laptop turns into a 20-minute battle of troubleshooting that should never happen in 2026.
Then there's the cartridge communication issues – the printer suddenly decides the brand-new HP cartridges aren't "recognized," throws error messages, or claims they're empty after barely any use. It's clearly designed to force you into their overpriced Instant Ink subscription trap, and when it inevitably fails, you're stuck wasting money and time.
Worst of all is HP's customer service. It's nonexistent or actively hostile. Hours on hold, scripted responses that don't solve anything, bots that loop you in circles, and zero accountability. They push you to buy more ink or "upgrade" instead of fixing basic functionality. This isn't a printer; it's a scam disguised as one.
Save yourself the headache and money – avoid HP's "e" series printers entirely. 0/5 stars, and I'd give negative if I could. Absolute garbage, I might as well have bought a brick.
Terrible
Terrible, spent over £400 on a printer and it never connects to the internet so when I ask my computer to print something nothing happens 9/10 times costing me and my business time and money
Don’t bother with their subscription-…
Don’t bother with their subscription- you pay for the printer several times over and when you wise up to it, they make the cartridges unusable even though you’ve paid over the odds for years - not good for the environment or customer retention. You can buy equally cartridges from Amazon for £26 as and when you need them - I’ve paid over £250 over the last 5 years on a rip off subscription so this will hopefully save others some money.
I used HP printers for years
I used HP printers for years. They are no longer any good. They want you to air print which is NOT secured and they stop printing even when there is plenty of INK. I will never buy one again. Been in business for over 30 years! Don't waste your money
I bought an 8130e printer from Best…
I bought an 8130e printer from Best Buy. The printer box advertised that it came with a free set of ink cartridges which would be mailed to me once I registered the printerwith HP. Unfortunately after receiving the free ink cartridges I found out that they would not work in my printer because I did not sign up for their Instant Ink program. When I contacted HP about this problem I got nothing but the run around. I spent over an hour on the phonw wthree different customer service representatives. I have never experienced any worse customer service. In checking into their Instant Ink program I found out that this program was nothing but a scam and that there was a class action law suite against HP regarding this Ink scam. Because of this Instant Ink scam HP no longer sells it nor do they sell the 8130e printer. HP use to be one of the most respected companies in the printer business. What happened to them? What leadership group brought them down to this pathetic level? Do NOT purchase their products as you will be sorry. Maybe when their sales go down they will establish a new management team that can regain the publics trust and respect.
Do not buy. Waste of money
Absolutely ridiculous. Moved house and I cannot connect the printer to my new WIFI network. The troubleshooting just doesn't work. What a way to waste money. Support don't listen they just repeat the info from the website, which doesn't work.
Worst Printer Ever
Never connects, stops printing in the middle of the job. 9 out of 10 times computer cannot locate the printer saying it is offline, although it is online and connected. HP smart App is awful, never solves issues. being send around in roundabouts by tech support to no avail. Basically a lucky dip on whether or not the machine will work on a day to day basis. HAs not worked way more times than it has. Wish I never bought it.
Don’t buy a HP printer
Bought a HP printer, it showed toner low after print less than 200 pages, call them and talk to a machine for 10 minutes, than get transferred to a real person, name Jericho, he said the toner comes with printer is for set up in order to get 900 pages I need to buy a regular cartridge. I told him I did not see this info anywhere, he said that is HP policy, no need to show on any paper. Don’t buy any HP products.
Purchased a 910 cartridge of black ink…
Purchased a 910 cartridge of black ink for my printer. Dont know if its the cartridge or my printer. Should last 4 months, not one. I never get my money's worth out of it. I feel like HP rips me off for ink Everytime. Whether it's the HP printer or the HP cartridge, y'all are useless and i am angry about it. The end.
It's a scam company
It's a scam company; do not use them! They persuade you to get the ink only from them. For some reason, most prints go through their servers, so they have complete control over what you're printing. Avoid!!!
Being held hostage to use their printer cartridges
I just got a notification that since I am no longer using their print cartridges expensive compared to refilled cartridges I am no longer going to be under their HP Plus. I guess I will have to use another scamming printer company. You know what they can do with their subscription model, something that I probably shouldn't say on a review.
I just want to print a copy!
I simply attempted to change my ink cartridge in my printer and was told I needed an account. Spent over 30 minutes attempting to find an actual phone number for a representative only to get stuck attempting to give them my email. The customer service is a 0 out of 10, the ease of use is a 0 out of 10 and I will ensure my entire department discontinues use of of HP products and switch to a different, more reliable brand.
9129e Printer nightmare
gave up my officejet 8710 for their promo for a new 9129e printer for an additional $10 per month. Bad decision. First printer the feeder didn't work. Second printer had bad banding when printing. Third printer had more banding but worse. Wanted to send me a 4th printer or pay a $250 cancellation fee. This printer is a product nightmare. Give me my 8710 back. I have been on the phone with HP for over 2 hours trying to convince them that I wanted out of the contract and that was not my problem. After being escalated twice to upper supervisors I was told that they would "try" to waive the cancellation fee. What? Try? I think I finally got through to them. I am not bashing HP overall. I have a new HP computer that I like and a 10 year old monitor that I still like. But the printer is a bad product.
HP is a scam
You buy a printer -- you own it, it lives in your home, and YET hp locks it up so you can't use anything but their overpriced ink and NOW I can't even use the scan option without signing in to an account and paying a subscription. I cannot believe this company is in business. It it goes into bankruptcy I will throw a party. I absolutely hate this printer and I hate hp. Buy a canon or a brother if you don't want a stupid app to tell you what you can and can't do with a piece of equipment you've already paid for. Absolute SCAM
beware when you try to set this up
beware when you try to set this up, there is a scam. a virtual assistant will say you need to speak to a tech guy who will phone you. he/she will then try to control your screen and say there are lots of damaged programmes that need restoring,,,for a fee of £100!!!
it is easy to set up, any problems uninstall the app and start again. HP know of this scam but have or can not do anything.
the printer is good.
Worst Printer Ever – HP Makes a Simple Task Impossible
I can’t even describe how frustrating this printer is. HP has somehow managed to make the simplest thing in the world – printing a piece of paper – an absolute nightmare. I’ve spent a whole day trying to set it up, and it still doesn’t work.
The HP Smart app sounds like it should be smart, but it’s the opposite – it’s nothing but confusion and frustration. You can’t just plug it in and print. Every step is complicated, and the printer loses connection constantly. It works once, maybe twice, and then it’s back to endless setup hell.
Calling HP support? That will cost you more than a quarter of the printer’s price, just to get basic help. This is a printer that seems designed to make printing as difficult as possible.
Extremely complicated. Extremely frustrating. Impossible to use. HP clearly doesn’t care about the user experience. Do not buy this.
The worst printer ever
Never ever buy a hp envy countless issues with mine , rarely connects rarely prints. Heap of crap just smashed it up in garage and will go back to a reliable brother where I can use any ink too!
Do not fall for HP’s scam
Do not fall for HP’s scam! I bought 3 separate printers before I became aware that HP automatically enrolls you in their ink cartridge subscription and when it expires or if you choose to end it, they will remotely kill your in cartridges and will not allow you to use alternatives. I will never purchase another printer from these con artists again!
Do NOT buy HP printers!
Do NOT buy HP printers!!
Wi-Fi connectivity is unreliable and breaks regularly, especially if the printer hasn’t been used for a while. Simple tasks like printing a document turn into hours of troubleshooting, resets, apps, browser setup pages, and reconnecting to Wi-Fi that may or may not work.
Pages are randomly counted under Instant Ink, including test pages and system pages that are printed during troubleshooting, not user-initiated printing. You end up paying for the printer malfunctioning.
Support is extremely poor. You waste more time trying to find the right support channel, talking to AI assistants that are completely useless, and repeating the same troubleshooting steps than you ever spend actually printing or doing productive work.
What used to be simple with printers is now needlessly complicated. The design is hostile, over-engineered, and clearly prioritises subscriptions and telemetry over reliability. Whoever designed this system deserves an award for one of the worst printer designs ever.
Avoid HP printers unless you enjoy frustration and wasted time.
