So Far so good

I still have the p20 lite and i also have the P30 Pro, so far very good phones and very impressed with performance, picture quality and stuff they have.

Only if Huawei did a pay in installments service like apple and samsung do, maybe they might get a better rating.

Do not trust huawei and there…

Do not trust huawei and there promotions. I have been trying for two weeks to get a copy of my invoice to claim the promotion and they just send you in circles through different departments and eventually you get back to the begining again. All they say is it's been requested and it's not the customer services department. You use the complain to the CEO and get a reply back saying call customer services. It looks like they will send the invoices after the claim dates are finished. Absolutely useless company.avoid at all costs

Battery life champ

Battery life champ! Google or no google, I’m sticking with Huawei....no Google means BIG BROTHER is not spying on you!

Need google maps? Use Waze

Need Uber? Use a real cab service!

You don’t need huge amounts of technical knowledge to install APK’s or you can use Huawei’s own App Store or many third party ones.

P series Huawei phones are the best in the industry for cameras

Warranty is Worthless

I had a 5 month P30 where the phone started making noises and the screen went blank - the phone was working undernerath. There was no damage to the phone - the repair company have sent back pictures with an impact on the screen that wasnt there when I sent it - and now they want £149 to repair it - Huawei just absolved themselves of all liability - do not buy Huawei !!!!!

Got my Huawei phone with my new 3…

Got my Huawei phone with my new 3 contract in Nov 2019. In Sept 2020 I appeared to be having problems with it..when talking to people on the phone, they were saying they couldn't hear me. long story short, it got sent off to the Huawei repair centre. Two weeks later they asked for £54 to repair the battery case. I paid. Then money got refunded to me. Then phone came back with one piece of paper: unable to fix. Despite numerous calls to Huawei who promise to ring back and then don't, the upshot today is that the phone's warranty is 'void' despite being less than a year old and there is nothing they will do. I'm on a two yr contract with 3 and the cheapest way I'm gonna get another phone with them (without resorting to buying a used phone via ebay or similar) is gonna cost me £360. Never again will I buy another of these bloody huawei phones. Rubbish service. I work in marketing and all I can say is that they're keen to get your money up front and then don't give a toss about decent customer service. Buyer beware.

I have sent the tablet to repair twice and each time they sent it back not fixed.
They said third time should be with luck.
Do not buy Huawei devices if you rely on guarantee!

Huawei P40 Review.

Huawei P40 Review.
Everyone knows by now, that the Huawei P40 is the first of the new range of phones not to have Google services. We are all told that there are workarounds to this problem, such as using online Google maps instead of the app, same goes for several things including eBay.
I decided that, having already had two of their previous phones and a smartwatch from them, that I was going to take this leap of faith and stay with the company, which of course meant upgrading to the Googleless P40 pro.
The Phone clone app does quite a good job of moving apps from your old phone, (in my case a Huawei P20), but not all will run.
There are several other app stores available as well as the Huawei one, one of which, Aptoide, has most of the apps you can find on Google play Store, but if it is one from the list of google only apps, they simply don’t run. These apps, such as Google pay, just refuse to run at all, (Huawei wallet does not replace this app so it is back to getting the debit card out again for contactless payments).
Other apps just run strangely, Waze is an example of this, it loads and it has everything you need but a map! Just a blank screen with all the options but no actual map.
However, I have to say that I was not disappointed with the phone, I had already anticipated the google problems and so was not surprised when some of my favourite apps simply refused to work. But what really shocked me, was when my smartwatch, (my HUAWEI smartwatch), refused to connect, stating that it needed an unobtainable Google app called Wear OS!
What made the whole experience worse, is the lack of support from Huawei on the subject. When I contacted them, they offered me all the obvious things, ‘try Huawei Health’, ‘reset the phone’, ‘reset the watch’ etc. (none of which worked). I was then told that they would check with their technical team and get back to me, weeks went by and I have not heard anything since?
Surely they were not going to leave me hanging with my Huawei Watch II which cannot connect to my Huawei phone?
So I contacted them again, I received the exact same email asking if I had tried connecting to the Huawei health app, (clearly an auto response to this problem), I replied that I had, and was again left hanging.
I then contacted their CEO, I received a reply within several minutes! It was the, ‘have I tried to connect through the Huawei Health app’ circular again! Nothing since.
So, my £250+ smartwatch has been rendered useless.
I reiterate that this is a Huawei smartwatch that does not connect to a Huawei phone. In fact, a £250 Huawei smartwatch that cannot connect to my £800 Huawei phone.
There are numerous videos on YouTube stating that there are ways to 'sideload' google onto these phones, in my experience, not of them have worked.
I was a very loyal Huawei user, I have had an Honor 8, a P20 and now a P40 Pro, (as well as my watch). My wife has had an Honor 9 and now has a P30 Pro, my daughter also has a P30 pro, (on my recommendation), but, effectively, for all this loyalty, I have now been left with a £250 paperweight!
I sent this review to Huawei asking for their comments and to see if I can give it a happy ending but, alas no such luck!

Do not trust them.

I purchased a Matepad 10.4 from Huawei official website because I wanted to try how life is without Google Play and because is the only device available with SD card.

Five days later I was browsing the same website to discover that the same tablet was cheaper by £30 and this time had the compatible Pen as gift. The same Pen that was £50 five days earlier when placed my order. If that is not enough the following day they had the Watch GTe bundle for only £10 extra.

I will never trust this company as they are change the prices all the time. Never.

Good phone

Bought a Huawei Y7 2019 for £130 from Argos about a week ago. Very good phone, got a nice case from Amazon on it as well. Big screen, scratches easily though apart from that it's great.

Need to do a whole lot better

I contacted Huawei a week ago to seek out some information regarding their USB C port, as the transfer speeds are abysmal and they lack any information with regards to whether or not it's simply just a charging port, but I would guess due to it being able to transfer data, that it's probably not. Just wanted to clarify, to see if the port is potentially faulty. I understand that times are tough for everyone with Covid 19 but that is quite some time to pass. I like the laptop, but I doubt that I'll be returning to Huawei on the fact that their Customer Services are rubbish.

Update.

Over 3 weeks since emailing Huawei for them to tell me I need to contact Technical Support even though there's no option for me to contact them. I wasn't given the link or email address for them and the customer service agent could have at least reached out to the correct team for myself, especially seeing as I had waited 3 weeks for a response and there's literally no way for me to select them when filling out the form. It was basically a fob off job. After making a complaint, their responses were rapid and my question was answered within an hour. Which is sad that it had to go to this extent for an answer and was informed that the emails are also considered technical support.

I don't know if I would recommend Huawei based on this. Their laptop I purchased does make me happy mostly and is well designed for the most part but their customer support seems to be hit and miss. I know it has definitely put me off purchasing any more of their products, because customer support is the frontline of any business, and I wouldn't want to have this again.

Increased from 1 star to 3 purely on them taking the complaint seriously and helping me out eventually.

Not professional

I went with warranty in Huawei center in Wembley, because I couldn't charge anymore my phone, with one excuse they found an insignificant crack in the side of screen, and they would charge me 130£ to change the screen first to repair my real issue! So this price is almost the value of the smartphone, all of this doesn't make sense. Not professional at all!

Great value for money

Been meaning to leave a review for a while. Huawei has been getting a lot of heat in the press, however I'm on my 3rd huawei phone and I have loved every single one of them. Great value for money.

I will try my best to explain here.

I will try my best to explain here.
I called Huawei customer service regarding the phone becoming very hot during a phone call. They advised me that my phone still has a manufactured warranty. So, they arranged a collection. It has been collected. Three to four days later email from SBE said I need to pay them £248.75 for screen to be fixed.
I didn't need to fix the screen as I didn't want to pay.
I requested them to fix the battery only. But they said either I pay or nothing will be fixed that's their policy.

I asked them to return my phone. I received it this morning. Now, the sim card isn't working. I tried two sim card and none of them are working. But they are working fine with other phones.
I called Huawei customer service. They said they will arrange a collection. I was going to get it collected but then I asked if you can raise the issue about the sim card chamber fixed then surely you can ask them to fix the battery bit since they come under warranty.

The man on the other side said, SBE will do the same, they will not fix until I pay for the screen to be fixed. I said, what is the point then sending again and they will do the same thing again? He said, that's their policy.

To the end, they wasted my time, asking for money for a repair that I do not want and they managed to break the phone so that I can not use it. All because they want money and look like a manufactured warranty doesn't exist at all.
Where would you go from here? Now, I am glad that the UK government cancelled its 5G contract. I am fuming, and not sure what to do right now with this phone.

0 STARS -No refund for an undelivered item

I recently bought a laptop from Huawei UK and it was picked up from their depot by CEVA logistics, who then delivered it to DHL, after-which it subsequently went missing and was not delivered to me. I contacted DHL to say it hadn't been delivered and had to wait 48 hours, working days only - not weekends, so 4 days in total, for them to look for it. They eventually agreed that it had been lost and sent me an email confirming that. DHL's customer service was OK though even though I had to wait for them to try and locate it. They didn't seem to know it hadn't been delivered, even though it clearly showed that on their tracker. HOWEVER, when I called Huawei on the phone I was told that she couldn't refund my money and I couldn't speak to a manager and that I would have to supply proof that it had gone missing. I did this via an email from DHL however, legally it is actually Huawei's responsibilty to chase a missing a parcel as they have a responsibility to make sure it's delivered to the customer. She said I needed to use the chat line to report it, even though I was actually speaking to her in person at that moment! The chat line on their website takes you to a Support Agent who is not at head office and does not deal with refunds, only replacements. They "escalate" the case to head office and from what I can see that is where the process stops. I have now been contacting them on chat for two weeks, as I am not allowed to speak to head office, to demand a refund. Every time they say they are investigating it (even though I provided the proof they asked for) and will be in touch. I have had NO communication AT ALL from Huawei regarding this lost laptop. You cannot communicate directly to anyone who can actually give you a refund, and in my experience I am being constantly fobbed off by the support agents. I think this is an outrageous way for such a large company to operate and I would advise you not to buy anything from them. 0 STARS

Have nothing to do with this arm of the Chinese Communist Party.

Oh, come on! Get real! If we have to communicate with smoke signals, that’s better than having Huawei build our telecommunications network.
In any case we are ALL far too dependant on our mobile phones.
I challenge you to do without your phone for just 2 days a week. See? You can’t, can you?
Read the reviews here. Huawei’s searing contempt for the customer is awe-inspiring. I put it to you all that this means one of two things - either:
A/ China really does own the U.K. lock, stock and barrel.

Or

B/ They have tipped their hand too early and we are now realising what they are up to.

Better hope it’s B. Ditch the Huawei phone. Shame on you for being such a fool as to buy one in the first place. They really saw you coming.
And boycott ALL Chinese-made goods from now on.

Sent my phone back to Huawei to be repaired as stopped working, the phone was returned back to me explaining it had liquid contamination and therefore not covered by their warranty , the phone has not been anywhere near any liquid.
I will never purchase any products from Huawei ever again.
