Hume Health Body Pod Reviews 

I've been using the Hume Body Pod and overall I find it useful for tracking trends in my body composition, but I think it's important to have realistic expectations about what it provides.
I've also had a DEXA scan, and the Hume measurements are not as accurate as my DEXA results. Because of that, I wouldn't treat the individual Hume measurements as precise or medical-grade numbers. I think its real value is in consistently tracking changes and trends over time.
I also don't find the Hume significantly better than other smart scales I've used. It provides a lot of data, but more data doesn't necessarily mean greater accuracy. Considering how the product is marketed, I expected a more noticeable difference between Hume and other smart scales.
My other criticism is the Hume Health Score. I don't think it gives enough weight to physical activity. Someone can be very active and exercise consistently, yet that doesn't seem to be adequately reflected in the overall score. Physical activity is an important component of health and fitness, and I think the Health Score would be much more meaningful if activity level had a greater impact.
Overall, Hume is a useful tool for monitoring trends, but I wouldn't consider it a replacement for a DEXA scan, nor have I found it substantially better than other smart scales. I think the Health Score also needs refinement, particularly in how it accounts for physical activity.

Inaccurate readings. Looks fancy but it’s just an overpriced gimmick. I expected more.

I’ve used the scale for 5 months. The weight seems correct, and it has interesting information, and I’ve hovered at 26%-27% body fat. A recent DEXA scan just revealed 38% body fat. It doesn’t measure the same way as a DEXA, as it claimed. Thumbs down.

Disturbing issue: values for visceral fat changed from one day to the next just opening the app. Visceral fat was 7 for about 6 months and because of my fitness routine I was expecting a decrease which showed 6, down from 7. The next day I opened the app to show my coach and it was 7. Then all previous values of 7 changed to 8. They already admitted pulse calculation - not measurement because they don't measure - is not correct. Now visceral fat and what else?

This machine does not work at all. It says 17.1% body fat, when I'm clearly more than 25% - perhaps even 30%. Ridiculous, expensive and an outright scam.

I have weighed myself for about 40 consecutive days. The HUME pod ends up basically being a fancy digital scale. I do not for a minute trust the & of fat results. I'm in good shape but according to the pod, I'm a super thin athlete. The app required to use the pod is set up to almost force you to buy the band too. The most suspicious aspect of all this company is that the app asks you to submit a review but it will not accept a review less than 5 stars. I am very disappointed with this gadget.

I received the body pod scales yesterday. Set up was easy, and I am blown away at the metrics it is recording.
Early days yet, but I am loving it!
Have been using a Withings Body + scales for the last 4 years that suddenly died - so far the Hume Health Body Pod is MUCH better.
Metrics from the Body Pod (such as fat%) are also being synced to my fitbit Google Health. I am thrilled

The POD just did not work out for me and I explained all the issues I had. I requested the refund within 10 days of receiving the POD. I did everything they asked of me. Taking videos of the steps I did. I packaged it back up in perfect condition. I gave them all the receipts from mailing back to them. They sent an email on 6/26/2026 saying my refund is approved and being processed. I requested the refund on 5/22/2026 and still have not received my refund on 8/12/2026. I don't believe they have or had any intention of sending a refund. So just be aware.

I’ve actively researched scales that provide body composition, and Hume originally caught my eye. Then today when I felt like taking the plunge and buying a Hume Body Pod, their clumsy marketing changed my mind. The FB ads are all different. One says $183, another has $195. Click on either and it’s $299. And to make it laughable, when you get to the page that says $299, you’re told that the $299 is a 50% off special from the regular $460. Last time I looked, 50% off $460 would be $230. Lastly, they do not allow you to post any comments on their FB site. This alone is a red flag, as they’re clearly not wanting public feedback. If it was a great product and great purchase experience, they would SEEK feedback and proudly display it. I’m now looking at a competitor 8-electrode body composition scale.

The product is very cheaply made and the software is very inadequate, requiring constant recalibration and reconnecting because the app does not recognize it. Also, one literally has to wet the feet and hands to get any reading other than an error. Not worth the money.

It never works does not connect. Terrible scale

Just by reading their reviews on their website you can tell they were written by the same person. Same punctuation, similar sentences and just obvious they are fake. I was thinking about getting the pod but not anymore.

I keep having to dampen my feet to use the scale, which is so wild, because then you risk slipping off the stupid thing because you can't walk across the floor with damp feet. On top of that, it would disconnect randomly, and then you had to do the process all over again, which is annoying AF. Told them I needed to send it for a refund. They made me pay for the shipping back. And I did not send the tracking information, but they had the scale in-house for almost two weeks (13 days) and did not start my refund until I actually emailed them for eta of my refund with the tracking number that said when they received it. Know that even if/when they physically get the product back, they don't actually start processing your refund until you give them that tracking number, which is shameful. And as of this day, almost a month after them Receiving their product, I have yet to receive my refund. I will never order anything else from this company ever again. UPDATE: Contacted me again 7/31/26 with the same canned email about processing and my patience. Still not acceptable and still no refund.

This scale is just not good. I bought it 2.5 months ago, expecting it to be really good because of the cost (silly me). The body measurements fluctuate far too much in short periods of time - in a way that just isn't happening. Body fat on different parts of the body just don't make sense from 1 day to the next. Wish I had checked Trust pilot before buying. It was not a good choice.

This has nothing to do with the pod, which hasn't arrived yet. My focus at the moment is on the company itself and how it conducts business. I decided to order it and pay installment using Klarna. The invoice I was sent reflected there was no payment, as there shouldn't have been. However, when I checked my debit card online, the entire amount was debited. Since there is no phone number to call, I sent an email. It took a day to get a response, which was: Thank you for your message.

This is a ridiculous response. If you order anything from them don't do it with the assumption that you can finance it. There is no phone number to call, and the bot responding to email is unhelpful.

This scale would probably be ok, if you’re very overweight. I am only about 10
Pounds overweight, and I looked forward to using the pod to get to my goal weight. The pod put me at 38% body fat, even though I am nowhere near that much. I have large dense breast, so it was showing my arms and torso as obese. It gave me a very low health score even though all the other markers were great. It gave me a high lean muscle score and metabolic score and good visceral fat score even though it had a ridiculous high subcutaneous and fat percentage score. That wouldn’t even make sense. I asked to return, because it’s clearly not able to read my body and they denied.

Don't waste your money on this expensive rubbish. Gives you a different reading every time you get onto the thing and we're not talking a pound or so . It's actually not fit for purpose. And as for the Hume band what a mistake . Read my sleep pattern on the first night and hasn't worked since . It's basically a marketing scam . Please do not waste a lot of money .

The app interface is so unfriendly it isn't funny. I have tried many different approaches to adjust some of the settings and I get nothing. I wish I had come to trustpilot before buying the body pod. DO NOT invest in this product. You will be very disappointed if you do.

Huge waste of money! Don't buy! Only works half the time. Bought a watch that goes with my phone and it gives me more info than hume ever did. Huge regretful purchase! They are horrible and won't refund or let you return.

I received my Hume scale as a Christmas gift and have been very happy with the results and consistency of the readings. I have my metrics measured every three months at the gym and there is a definite correlation between the two devices. With the Hume scale I am looking for trends in my body measurement to see that I am working towards my goals. I have been so happy with the Hume sale I purchased the Hume band in June. I had some initial issues with the Hume Band however; I have been extremely pleased with the Hume customer service addressing my issues. All of my inquiries have been addressed to my satisfaction in a timely manner by Max, Alvin and Andrew.
