I purchased a Hypnos Cambridge Deluxe small double mattress from Land of Beds. It was delivered well within the suggested time scale. The mattress itself appears to be well made and quite sturdy. W... See more

A very comfortable sleep
This bed is great - our quality of sleep has improved massively. I always used to wake with a stiff back - no more !
Great quality mattress which is super comfortable
It's great to be supporting a UK company that delivers excellent products. I love the fact that they use natural fibres and yes, it is on the expensive end of the market but I think it is well worth the price.
Hypnos Sherborne Sublime
I tried a Hypnos Sherborne Sublime (medium) in store, it felt really soft and comfortable and I spent a long time lying on it after trying other types, to make certain it was the right one. I was even a little unsure as to whether it might be a bit too much on the soft side for my back, but had already placed the order so couldn't change my mind. When the mattress came, on my first night's sleep it felt pretty firm and I could even feel the tufts digging in (I'm a lightweight older female with some joint pain). I got up with lower back ache which I didn't have with my old mattress. I hoped it would just be teething troubles as all mattresses will be firmer to begin with, so did everything I could to try and break it in - walked all over it every day, but after three months couldn't get rid of the back ache. I've tried various different toppers and even put it onto a different bed frame (sprung rather than solid) but still have the back issue. It is a huge disappointment as although the mattress itself is very well made the store I bought it from didn't offer any exchange or trial period. This isn't a criticism of the mattress per se - rather of my experience of it as it isn't the right softness for someone of my stature
Comfortable, firm mattress
The mattress is firm as described. Comfortable and it was a good purchase.
Enjoyable throughout
What an enjoyable experience! Relaxing on a choice of mattresses in luxurious surroundings. Unhurried way to pass away a couple of hours. Can't believe the difference in comfort over our 30 year old discard. Nicely made and firm but not too firm. Great investment in future comfort - you can't beat a good nights sleep
Do not buy a Hypnos no turn bed.
Do not buy a Hypnos no turn bed.
We purchased a Luxury no turn superb pocket sprung divan 6 years ago. It has developed significant sagging on both sides of the mattress. As there is a 10 year guarantee we approached Hypnos who have said it is to be expected and is normal.
So.... we would advise you not to buy this type of mattress, and to expect the 10 year guarantee to be worthless.
Disappointed
After having 2 previous mattresses from Hypnos I was shocked when the third purchase was so disappointing. We have followed recommended advice and turned the new mattress every week like clockwork however it had already significantly dipped after 8 weeks and the firmness is nothing like ‘firm’. We are awaiting an inspection and hope to get it resolved. It’s also so frustrating that Hypnos seem to discontinue styles regularly so having to replace the one that worked for 8 years before is difficult.
Not a happy customer 😞

We are very disappointed with this Hypnos mattress we have had for 3 months despite rotating it weekly it leaves impressions of where we’ve laid it is rated as medium.

I’ve waited a long time to change my mattress and choosing a Hypnos mattress had supported my back and supported a good nights sleep
I purchased aht Hypnos Ortho Comfort…
I purchased a Hypnos Ortho Comfort Classic mattress approximately 8 months ago.
It was advertised as "Firm".
After 6 months (less than 50 sleeps) it developed a significant (to me) dip (approx 3.5cm) in the middle.
The company sent out an inspector and then reported that there is no issue with the mattress and the cause of the dip was a single person sleeping in the middle of the bed!
I am approximately 169cm and 67 Kg!
I was obviously misguiding in thinking that a firm mattress would be firm all over and not just around the edges!!
Mattress springs lost resistance after two years of occasional use - failure to fulfill guarantee
I purchased a single Pillowtop Select mattress for my spare room in Dec 2023. It was delivered in January 2024 and, despite being used only occasionally, it is sagging and when one lies down on it their hips sink into the mattress.
I complained via the retailer and an inspection was arranged. The report by Furniture Care Network Hypnos Limited/Castelan states that the settlement reading is 2 cm and that “pressure test showed that springs lost resistance in the middle”. Hypnos claims that the settling reading of 2 cm is normal, according to the screenshot they sent me of a tolerance table titled “Guideline Mattress - tolerances this guidance is provided by third party technician companies”.
I asked for a refund, explaining that my complaint is not based on the settling reading, but on the fact that the report corroborates what gave cause to my complaint (“the springs lost resistance”), and this was after only two years of occasional use.
In their latest email, in response to me insisting that the loss of spring resistance should be covered by their guarantee, they stated that “this is mis-leading” (the statement in the report which says the springs lost resistance) and said that they stand by their position. The wording in the report is very clear (nothing misleading about it) and I am surprised that a company with Hypnos’ reputation is refusing to accept responsibility. In a nutshell, Hypnos seems to be saying that it is ok for costumers to sleep on a mattress with springs that lost resistance (despite the mattress being covered by a 10 year guarantee). Conclusion: Do not count on their guarantee. If you ever need it you will need to spend a lot of time on it, as I have.
I have asked if they have a complaint mechanism, to which they didn’t respond. It seems that all I can do now is to go to the Small Claims Court.
Our new bed
From the very first night's sleep the bed was absolutely perfect for both of us which is essential for a happy relationship.

Lovely mattress and the reduced requirement for turning it is a very welcome enhancement.
A whole new world of sleep!
After putting up with an old, saggy mattress for far too long, a sleep on a Hypnos mattress in our London hotel propelled us into buying one.
Best decision we ever made: morning aches & pains a thing of the past & sleeping so much better. Well worth the investment!
Very comfortable bed

Our new hypnos origins 8 mattress has changed our sleep completely. I thought I was getting the best night's sleep possible as I already had a very comfortable high quality mattress but this has made a huge difference. Well worth the upgrade!
We recently bought a Hypnos 10 wool…
We recently bought a Hypnos 10 wool bed, the showroom and online showed 2x divans pushed together to firm the kingsize base, however we received a cheaper cross section base…..
The mattress however is a totally different issue, we have “flipped and rotated” as the supplier advised (note, no advice from Hypnos!), the mattress has settled about an inch and a half but the sides of the mattress are still firm so we have a slope from the edges of the mattress into the middle, I guess great if you are in your 20’s 😉 but not so good when you are in your 60’s, we got rid of a 11 year old Harrison Spinks bed for this and totally regret it, the comfort is no better and me and the wife are now accusing each other for “invading” our sides if the bed…
My advice, forget the name, forget the brand and DO NOT BUY…
Hypnos Wool Origin 8…
We purchased the Hypnos Wool Origin 8 Mattress (Super King Size, zipped version with one Medium side and one Firmer side) around three months ago, upgrading from a standard IKEA mattress.
To be completely honest, both my wife and I expected a much more noticeable improvement in sleep quality given Hypnos’ reputation and the premium price point. We genuinely thought moving to a Hypnos mattress would take our sleep comfort to another level.
Unfortunately, that has not been our experience so far. After three months of use, we both still do not feel particularly comfortable during sleep and continue to experience back pain, much the same as before. In terms of actual sleep quality, we honestly have not noticed a significant difference compared to our previous mattress.
The mattress itself appears well made and the craftsmanship seems good, but in our personal experience the comfort and support did not meet our expectations.
Overall, a little disappointing considering the investment and the expectations we had.

Since purchasing our Hypnos bed back in February both myself and husband have slept so much better and has my hip pain has improved. by far the bet bed we've had. Great quality. Would certainly purchase again in the future.
