I was assigned a handful of professors and have found all of them to be great. I never did private language tutoring before, and at first speaking made me a bit nervous. I feel comfortable now and am learning at a good pace. I would highly recommend Iboux to anyone looking to learn from native speakers who are experienced at teaching foreign language.

I'd give Iboux 5 stars for the flexibility in scheduling, choice of instructors, structured content, quality of content, well-organized site and ease of use. There are just two major issues I have:

1) Each lesson has exercises that I'm excited to do, however, you go to click on the exercise thinking that you can complete them online, directly on the site but that's not possible. You must fire up your favorite note taking app like Google Drive, Word, etc. and type your answers there. You can't even do a cut and paste of the exercises into your Google Drive document. The only thing you can do if you'd like to have the exercises and your responses on the same page is to take a screen shot from the Iboux site of the exercises and paste it into your Google Drive or Word document.

This is an essential capability to have while you're in class with the instructor or in-between classes when you'd like to be doing your homework.

Say you've completed all the exercises (your assigned homework for the next class) which you will have done not directly on the site where the instructor can see and correct them but on say a Google Drive or Word doc. The only way for the instructor to see what you've done is by you sharing your screen. That's fine but it's not possible for them to correct your answers on your Google Drive doc, as it's not a shared document. They can write something on the Iboux site but on the site you won't have any of your answers to the questions as you weren't able to do the exercises directly on the site.

2) The homework assignments include texts to read and videos to watch. One minor problem.. after class, wouldn't it be nice to be able to view the texts and the videos so you could do the assignments? You go to click on 'watch video' or 'read text' and nothing happens. Your class has to be in session in order to do so. This would be a total deal killer if it weren't for the fact that I was able to find some of the videos on YouTube and the instructor was able to post a link to the texts. This should be a capability always available to the student. If I forget to ask the instructor for it, I can't work on my homework outside of class :-(

Iboux team, please upgrade your site to allow for these capabilities:

1) Allow the user the capability to write directly on the site so that during the next lesson, they can see your answers and can correct them. I understand that if you change instructors, the new instructor can't see what you or your previous instructor wrote but that's fine.

2) Make it so all the content (texts, videos, etc.) are available to the student offline so we can do our homework outside of class.

It all depends on the professor. I had a good relationship with two professors from whom I profited greatly over the years. Unfortunately, they each left for greener pastures. I am just getting to know two other professors whom I like too.
Fortunately Iboux provides each student with a number of professors so I you don't like one there is always another.
The biggest problem is finding a time that works for both the professor and the student. Accordingly, I recommend scheduling several weeks out.

There's nothing like a native speaker to get you to speak a foreign language.

I've tried every other method to learn French - group classes, digital platforms, textbooks - and I could still barely order a croissant in France. That's when I started to look for private online classes, and I am so glad I found Iboux. My teacher is the best - she has the patience of a saint as I stumble and fall and get up with the French grammar and pronunciation, and I've made so much more progress in 4 months than in my five years prior.

Beyond the skilled teachers and the great programme that builds on grammar and vocabulary, I love the flexibility. I can fit my classes into my work schedule and adjust them if needed, and I can take them anywhere in the world.

Looking forward to being able to say the above out loud in perfect fluent French soon!

I have been studying French with iboux.com in the last few months and i wish to express my happiness and satisfaction with iboux. The teachers are always well prepared, systematic, kind and very understanding. I am pleased as they are also committed to helping me succeed.

The iboux platform works well, with good teaching and course content that has helped me work towards some french exams that I want to take. I like the flexibility of booking and moving around lessons as needed. Would certainly recommend to others.

I've had a great experience studying Italian with Iboux, better than I ever would have thought when I first started out. I've had several tutors, each have been great and have brought different approaches to learning which really helps you keep motivated and learning new areas of the language you are studying. The teachers are all very experienced teaching languages and are intelligent fun people to chat with, you always have something interesting to talk about together.

Plus, I have an academic advisor who makes sure that your tutor is the right fit for you and checks in on your progress regularly just to make sure things are going well. She is an academic and totally understands the learning process. It is all very re-assuring.

The computer platform works remarkably well. Scheduling is easy, and the classroom interface gives you face-to-face conversations, a shared white board, pages for posting PDFs, etc. And, all the class notes are stored for review in your personal profile area.

I continue to have a great experience.

I have been studying French on and off for 10 years with very little progress, but since I have discovered Iboux, I know I am on the right path finally! It is the best concept! I have attended evening classes, uni lectures in the past, as well as had personal tutors but this is much better because you do it when it suits you and your schedule including weekends and evenings.The classes have it all: speaking, listening, reading, grammar and even fun video watching - all under a careful and attentive guidance of your favourite tutor!

The main thing that I like about my Iboux experience is that I am getting what I need. I started several years ago at a very low level and I even had doubts that I'll make progress. My doubts were based on my prior experience of learning in person in groups of ~10 people. To make progress I needed individual lessons so that I can speak. After changing 2 or 3 teachers due to some objective reasons, I finally started with Agathe. She understands what makes me interested and this gives a motivation to learn and to make progress. So in my opinion, it is important to find "your" teacher and Iboux gives such opportunity. However, there is no platform that can do a miracle and will make you speak foreign language if you don't put efforts yourself.

The teachers are very professional and nice. They give you suggestions in order to improve and go head with your English’s knowledge.
I am very satisfied.

I started taking class 1 hour of French class with Iboux for almost a year now . My francophone friends noticed the improvement when it talked to them in French . The support from the course coordinator , technical support is great . my professor is amazing he takes time knowing and understanding why I am learning french and the.class is so personalized. The lessons are very well constructed with a nice mix of informal conversation,, learning French culture ..

For anyone who is thinking of learning another language, I highly recommend to try Iboux !

I have been doing Iboux Spanish 30 min weekly lessons for over a year now. It is perfect for my needs. My Spanish is progressing nicely, but most importantly, at my pace. The format means I get one-to-one teaching but in my home with a native Spanish speaker. The lessons are very well constructed with a nice mix of informal conversation, understanding, vocab building and grammar. I really can't fault it. It is so much better, for me, than a previous night school experience where I spent a lot of time getting to the lesson and then found myself with about 10 or more students of vastly different abilities/enthusiasm. It costs about the same. Give it a go.

Iboux has been a wonderful way for me to excel in my understanding of foreign languages. The online support is of a very high standard and the professionalism of their teachers is second to none. I thoroughly enjoy my classes and feel supported every step of the way.
