My wife purchased a 2nd hand Samsung z phone whilst on day visit to Funchal Madeira store. We were advised that you had a store in Tenerife where we live so no problem if there was an issue. The phone appeared to be in perfect condition and the staff were very helpful. On arriving back home some 3 days later the film on one of the screens is bubbling. Was disappointed to find you do not have a store in Tenerife. What are the option's for rectification? Assistance please

Bad experience in the Canary Islands

I have a horrible experience with CeX in the Canary Islands. I went to the store to buy an Apple watch and wanted to know the condition of the battery. The employee charged it, but also performed an update, which I didn't ask for. So I wait.. and wait.. for two hours in a sad mall, before I decide to go home.
I still wanted the watch, so I decide to order it online from the store and now after 10 days, the order still hasn't been processed and the tickets I opened through the contact form aren't being handled.
I am still waiting for my product and really upset at the wait and non-responsiveness.

CEX don't trust them to treat you fairly, esp. if you have hidden disabilities.

I bought a laptop 20.1.20 & had to return it 2 days later because none of the USB ports worked. From that point onwards I was played & bullied & two & a half years on I am still waiting for my full refund plus expenses pursuing this manipulative business.

CeX evaded initially a swop for a working laptop & then a refund after they intentionally evaded replying to me by hard copy letter opting instead for that which was easier for them & against my instructions as COVID made access to public libraries impossible to access.

I have hidden disabilities & this business played on that to make it as difficult as they could to enable me to successfully get my money back.

Recently, after getting a spell of better health Portsmouth's Citizens' Advice helped me write a letter to them for which the only reply I have had is a 'am I satisfied with their service? by email also against my instructions.

CeX have been dishonest, manipulative bullies & clearly think bullying a person with disabilities is good practice.

another online order fail from CEX.

another online order fail from CEX.

ordered Nintendo 64 Console, Pikachu Blue W/Expansion Pak, Boxed. actually received a boxed version of the console, yet it did not have the expansion pak as advertised. the actually sent me the Nintendo 64 Console, Pikachu Blue, Boxed which is £10 less in price.

this has happened to me before where they have sent an incorrect cheaper version of Castlevania for the GBA. on that occasion they offered me a partial refund if i wanted to keep the game they sent. fair enough as i did need that game for my collection. the refund was sent via email (voucher).

this time no such luck. if i want to keep the console and get a partial refund i have to go to a store near me so they can amend the receipt and then give me a partial refund. why different this time. getting to a CEX will cost me fuel and parking money. why should it cost me to fix a CEX picking error?

when CEX get it right with online orders they are pretty decent. but that does not happen a lot of the time when using the online service. why is the standard so poor?

Hugely disappointing

After waiting a few days I excitedly rushed down to open the door to the postman this afternoon to receive my mint condition echo device which I ordered from cex. I excitedly ripped open the box, to find - yup, you guessed it the wrong model and clearly labelled as the smaller model even with its label still on showing half the price I paid.

I was so annoyed - obviously.

On contacting cex, they emailed me back and suggested that I take it to a local store (I ordered online because I don’t live near to a local store…) or send it back to them, and they will either replace it or refund me - oh but that might be sometime in the next 7-14 days…

They haven’t got any more of the same product online, I checked earlier - I had ordered the last one available.

So that’s me waiting up to two weeks for my money back.

One word - AVOID

Disappointed camera faulty on first switching on

The A7S II camera I bought was faulty on arrival. It took a few pictures, each of which was marred with interference. Eventually just displayed the dreaded Sony camera fault message (which basically means beyond economic repair!!!!).

Unless I was just incredibly unlucky, I would have to assume that this camera has not been tested properly. This is most disappointing from a trader, especially for such a costly item.

Descriptions on CEX website are about the poorest I've ever seen on a commercial business website. Putting aside the dead on arrival nature of the camera, it was sent with a dodgy 3rd party battery (DSTE) and a cheap as chips charger (not Sony). No box, no strap or any other accessory. This is quite unacceptable for a camera of this value. CEX your competitors manage to describe their products correctly, and ensure they are of suitable quality.

How CEX manage to stay in business is an absolute mystery, especially as their prices are quite a lot higher than the competition. The 2 year warranty perhaps, but this is irrelevant if products arrive dead on arrival.

The only thing I have to commend CEX on is speed of delivery, and the camera's exterior physical condition (Described as a B - but it could have been like new) But to suggest the camera first developed the fault I witnessed when I first turned it on (after charging the dead battery), would be a stretch. So this just leaves me to assume it's simply not sufficiently tested.

Hoping that CEX will be able to replace it or refund it to my original payment method, and that the process factors in the fact I've been quite inconvenienced and disappointed through this purchase.

Your 2 year warranty is a big plus but I was hoping to never need it. I will be very cautious about buying from you in the future and I spend a fortune on this kind of gear, and am very familiar with it.

Fingers crossed that your customer service at least meets expectations.

I bought the Samsung s22 ultra 128gb in…

I bought the Samsung s22 ultra 128gb in grade A Condtion. The phone was as good as brand new. The phone is incredible, the screen is so large and a plessure to watch movies on. The cameras are great and gives me a lot of options for taking photos.

Prices are great! Service is... meh

So, I went to CeX in hope of trading in a few things. It wasn't a great experience. Firstly, queues are massive, and the shop is understaffed, plus the computers take ages to load which makes for a long time standing at the till. They only offered £22 for a working cosmetically damaged Samsung Galaxy S8 which was a massive disappointment. They rejected all of my other devices, because they were third party. They rejected my gaming mouse because half an inch at the end was exposed (the wire) and that is easily fixable. At least take it in as a Grade C! They have amazing prices! Like Call Of Duty BO CW for £25? And Forza MSp7 for £15. GTA V for £15 when MS sells it for £35 along with GAME. Now refunds... ehh... you'll get 2 days in which it can be traded for CREDIT and not CASH given it is in good condition. And 20 Days if the item is faulty, which they will double check! Anyways, all in all... average experience, good people, but not enough staff, although polite, slow PCs and bad refunds, great prices for all tech though!

Bought a PlayStation here

Bought a PlayStation here, brought it back twice then again for good, it was in a bad state.
Went again and got a game didn't work now I have to go back again, I live 20klms from the shop it's not cheap going back and forth I wouldn't be able to trust them now.

Stealing

C EX have hit on a good way of stealing goods . advert says bring in any amount of goods . then staff insult customer and say cant deal. i ask for my goods to be returned to my home as i cant go back to the store was banned from all cex . if any thing happens to my goods then that is stealing . and my daily complaint with turn in to hourly ones .

Disgusted!!

Visited the Entertainment Exchange CEX store in the Arndale Centre in Manchester today (Wednesday 30th March) and was absolutely disgusted with the whole experience. I wanted to purchase some goods so waited in what I thought was the queue. After a while I noticed customers being served before me and realised I was standing at the side where you bring items in to sell. I then moved across to a different queue and waited again. When it was my turn I was called to the till to purchase the goods only to be told that I had to wait again as another customer was selling something and they had priority over me. Why is this? I am a customer like anybody else and surely CeX want people to buy goods as if not then surely they will not have a business? As you can imagine I was disgusted with this and left the goods at the till and walked out. I shall not visit another CeX shop ever again.

Always a warm welcome

Always a warm welcome for me and my dogs. Layout of the store means it's easy to navigate.
Staff are knowledgeable and approachable.
Whether selling or buying, i've always been offered a good deal.
It's a shop I always visit when i'm in Bridlington.
