After 20 years with iContact

After 20 years with iContact, I had a very disappointing experience when canceling.
I was required to download 1,200 newsletters and 600 drafts one by one, with no bulk export option available. I contacted support multiple times and was told the platform is “not a storage service,” yet I was also unable to delete sent emails, which made the process more difficult.
To work around this, I sent materials to myself using test emails, but encountered sending limits (15 emails per 15 minutes, later adjusted to 14), which repeatedly interrupted the process. While my sending ability was restored within a day, this added unnecessary complexity.
Graphics I had paid for also had to be downloaded individually, though a workaround was eventually provided after several attempts to get assistance.
In total, it took me and my assistant over 20 hours and nearly 2 months to retrieve my materials.
After paying more than $17,000 over 20 years, I expected a far smoother and more respectful offboarding process.
In addition, the platform no longer offers the flexibility and tools available in other services today.

rustrating experience—switching to a reliable provider

Review:
After multiple calls with tech support and several escalations, I was told iContact couldn’t integrate a Canva landing page for my project. When I asked for a refund, the only offer was half credit if I ever rejoined—no solution, no real support. I’ve since switched to Mailchimp and it works flawlessly. Save yourself the headache and choose a provider that actually delivers.

BEWARE!!!!!

Beware. If I could give zero stars, I would. The platform was advertised as “user-friendly,” but in reality it nearly compromised my company’s websites and caused a serious security breach. This is not something that can be set up by a typical userit requires a skilled IT team, despite the way it is marketed.

I had to shut everything down, my project was completely ruined, and I ended up sending all emails individually. When I reached out to request a refund, the support team was dismissive and unprofessional. They refused to refund me, canceled my account without consent, and essentially told me to “prove” the breach something my emergency IT consultant had already confirmed.

IContact, you need to do better. Your lack of accountability and disregard for security is unacceptable. Shame on this company.

They ignore emails

I contacted them to ask questions to the sales department.

Either they have no essay field so you can tell them what you want or the girl was so braindead that she ignored what I wrote because she asked me for my account information.

I wrote back with all of my questions & never heard back.

I just read the reviews. Thank gawd I never went with them.

Refusing to cancel my account and issue a refund for erroneous charges

I have been a customer of iContact for an extended period of time, spanning several years. However, roughly a month ago, I made the decision to cancel my association with them. The cancellation process involved initiating contact with a customer service representative through online channels such as chat or email. This initial contact person would then transfer my information to a so-called "customer success manager."

During my interaction with the first customer service representative, I explicitly communicated my desire to cancel my account and requested a refund for the previous month's charges. I provided evidence to support my claim that I had canceled within the specified timeframe. Instead of directly addressing my concerns, the representative informed me that she would be going on vacation and assured me that she would follow up with me upon her return the following Monday. Unfortunately, she did not fulfill this promise and only got back to me on Wednesday.

To my dismay, even after explaining my financial difficulties resulting from health issues, the representative persistently attempted to persuade me to remain a customer. She consistently evaded my question regarding whether the company would process the refund. Eventually, after several exchanges via email, she finally responded by stating that she had forwarded my request to the upper management or billing team. She emphasized that the decision regarding the refund rested solely with them.

I cannot stress enough how disheartening it is to witness the treatment I have received from a company I have been loyal to for such a long time. My initial intention was to consider returning as a customer, but based on their handling of this cancellation process, I am now resolute in my decision not to do so. This company exhibits predatory behavior and lacks a genuine commitment to customer service. Dealing with them becomes a nightmare, especially when faced with billing issues (in this case, a simple cancellation request).

It has been well over a month since my first interaction regarding the cancellation, and not only was I charged for an additional month, but the company is also refusing to issue a refund for the charges incurred during that period. Furthermore, I am left uncertain as to whether they will charge me for yet another month. It is important to note that I am on a month-to-month plan and had requested the cancellation before the next billing cycle. This entire experience is nothing short of utterly disappointing and appalling.

Given the circumstances, I am incredibly angry and frustrated. If this matter remains unresolved, I intend to take further action by contacting my credit card company to address the issue. The lack of resolution and the company's unwillingness to rectify the situation have left me feeling highly dissatisfied and deeply disillusioned with their services.

Stay away from this company

Don't give your credit card number to this company.

Altough my account was already inactive for 6 months they still "renewed" my account for a whole year the next year.
They did not send an invoice nor any other message but just charged my VISA for 900 dollar.

I will have paid for one and a half year without having used any of their service. That's 1350 dollar for no service in return and they are not willing to refund.
