Goods orderd in June 2 phone calls at 7p a min plus connection and still nothing. Save your money. Avoid.
Do not use this company. My 82 year old mother in law placed an order in June which did not arrive. Consequently she tried to cancel the order but this company denied having ever received her order. The credit card company had paid the money. She has telephoned four times and been given conflicting advice each time. She still hasn't received a refund.
Absolute rubbish. My mum ordered and after a month she had heard nothing but they had cashed her cheque. She finally got through on the phone and was told there was no payment or order. I rang again for her today only to be told one item is out of stock and to ring back in another month.
total scam was enticed to place an order because of the offer of a free portable charger. Spent £66 and the only reward was a cheap bag of Chinese rubbish not fit for even the cheapest Xmas cracker. Would have returned the entire order but notice no one ever gets their money back.
Update on previous review:
Don't hold your breath - Ideal Practical has still
not refunded my money. They cashed in my cheque but didn't send the goods. It is now almost 6 months that I have been in contact with them and they are clearly just stringing me along. They have been sent the details they asked for, namely a copy of the cheque and a copy of my bank statement showing that it had been encashed, and I even sent them the account number that it had been paid into and the address of the branch that where the cheque was paid in, but although they have now said that they have sent in all the details to their finance department, I wonder if they actually have one! The finance dept if it really exists now wants the details all over again ....
i ordered a lamp of ideal world which i recived two days later i recived another another one when i tried to phone to tell them i could not get an answer i pressed the call back button but did not get a call back i have tried for three week did not get a phone call back 8 isent them a email to them asking for my money back i have not had a reply i would never deal with them again
I can only echo the other negative reviews displayed here. My wife ordered an item by mail from Ideal and Practical in early June. She can be a little confused, and omitted to include the cost of postage. After a couple of weeks Ideal and Practical cashed her original cheque. Several times have I have attempted to contact them to resolve the non fulfilled order, initially by phone, (a 7p a minute line with no response, save the offer of a ringback call which never comes). I have sent a tracked letter by Royal Mail to the address given on the Ideal and Practical Customer Services website - delivery confirmed. Latterly, I again sent them a copy of the same letter, this time using their online contact facility. I have had absolutely no response from the company, it is now well into August, and I am now reconciled to the fact that my wife has lost £40 quid. Either Ideal and Practical is very badly run, or the firm is in dire straights. Whatever - best avoided.
I was a regular customer of this company for many years, but something has gone very wrong with it. I have had the following problems with the last three orders:
1 They substituted an item with something of a completely different design.
2 The long delivery time is ridiculous. I placed my last order on 23/03/21 and now (16/04/21), I still have not received one of the items. Not the first time this has happened.
3 When the website showed confirmation of my last order, it clearly stated in two different places, that delivery was free, yet they subsequently charged me £6.99. After a lengthy series of unhelpful emails, a "senior colleague" replied (and I quote) "the additional £6.99 charged is for 'preparation and processing of the order. Moreover, the word 'FREE' refers to the choice of delivery method which you are not charged for." There was no choice of delivery method.
I will never order anything from this useless company again.
