Just started the setup and was banned

I just started the whole process to be on match.com. I submitted one picture. I hit the back button because I was trying to crop more of the background out. The system got confused. When I tried to log back in it said that I was banned. I did answer questions stating that I was Asian and white. Is that the reason? Still waiting to hear about an appeal. I won't be using their site though but I'd like to know why they banned an account that hadn't even gotten started.

Not what it used to be

I've been on and off Match for years; I actually met my husband on Match many years ago. Unfortunately, the website is no longer the reputable dating site it once was. Today, it's a step above Tinder and Grinder, simply a hook up site that's full of fake and AI generated profiles. Customer service is at best abysmal and rude. Don't waste your time, there's better dating sites out there with better clientele, customer service and profiles that have been vetted and are real. Event Grinder and Tinder profiles are more authentic and real.

Match is not worth it!

Match, in my opinion is just a money-making apparatus. As a Man, it offers little value and lots of frustration. I've been on Match for some time. This is my understanding from my own experience as well as chatting with multiple subscribers, reading reviews, etc. For starters, over 60% of the women on match are none subscribers - meaning they don’t pay for a subscription and they can't communicate. The women that are subscribers are so inundated with likes & messages that they reply to relatively few. I've been told I'm attractive, I'm successful, 6' and fit. I might get one date every couple of months. Yes, I have standards, but still . . . Forget about customer service - it doesn't exist. Match stopped sending me notifications over a year ago. I've reached out to them several times and have not even received so much as even an acknowledgement of my message. The view is just not worth the climb. Worse than that – it’s like paying for something to frustrate you.

Match.com not worth it

When I first joined Match.com they had a video chat option that was useful in weeding out scammers. They left the video chat icon at the top of the screen even after they disabled it without telling customers. Eventually the icon was taken down. As a first time user I thought with the cost of joining might make the site more legit. Wrong! 80 percent of my interactions were with fakes and scammers...all wanting your phone number. That's why I got on the site to screen potential partners without giving out personal info like email and phone numbers. Canceling the app was as clear as mud and contacting them by email is a joke. They dont respond to any of your concerns. Best way to make sure they cant hit your credit card for another 6 month charge...cancel your credit card and get a new card like I did. Ive had much better luck on FB dating and its free.

Avoid like the Plague!

It is virtually impossible to cancel a profile online and fortunately I didn't sign up for any of their payment plans. Despite sending two letters (the second one signed for) to their Gloucester Stree address in London asking them to cancel my profile, they have not done so. They make it as difficult as possible to cancel and heaven help anyone who wants to cancel a payment plan! Customer support is non-existent.

I signed up for a six month…

I signed up for a six month subscription and canceled it online when I met someone. On 8-05-2025 I was billed for six months. I tried to contact match but there is no one to talk with. I tried to access the site online but was unable to do so because the email address I used to sign up is no longer being used by me.
I would not use this site !

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with Match.com. My account was blocked for no clear reason after just a few login attempts. I submitted an appeal and waited two days to have it reinstated, only to be blocked again the same day. The system seems unreliable and poorly managed—possibly due to faulty AI. I wouldn’t recommend using the site.

Match.com does not match you.

First all. Match.com pays no attention to your preferences. They Ignore things like: Race, religion, body type and age. Then they charge you a ridiculous amount to see and send. Once pay it. You are very limited and they keep pressing for more "upgrades" that, of course, cost an insane amount. I though that I had met a descent lady on Match.com. We took thing off of Match.com. Soon. Things were not adding up. She claimed to be a Swedish woman, however. She spoke like a black woman. She also did not know any Swedish. She refused to meet in person. Always had an excuse. She quickly moved things to Whatsapp. Most Americans don't use it. Africans do. Her phone number was not of the area she claimed. She also claimed to be a teacher. Yet. The school had no record of her. She had no social media and refused to do video chats. I told her before that I had once been a moderator on a dating sight that hunted Fake profiles and scammers. She thought she was smart. She got caught. Pay attention to red flags people. If they don't want to meet in a descent amount of time or do a video chat in a few days. RUN. People meet strangers all day in their daily lives. Think about it.

Absolute waste of time & money!

Absolute waste of time & money!
Made the mistake of joining for 6 months at £20 a month.
After a short time, I suspected that many of the profiles were fake.
To test my suspicions, I sent around 400+ pleasant/tailored messages & received two replies.
Absolute farce. I suspect 95% of the profiles don't exist. I wish I'd given the £120 to charity.
Difficult to cancel the auto subscription- which I have now finally managed from another device.
Seriously - save your money.

Cancel repeat payments on the site and with your credit card

Having managed to unsubscribe and stop the renewal, I didn't do the same with PayPal and so the latter transferred the money. There is no way I can find of contacting match.com at one point. I managed to find a pass that showed an email link when I pressed on it. It just went back to the site. It asked on here for ways for the company to improve. They know how to improve: down the bottom of every page they could put contact details and also Live links for unsubscribing, stopping renewals being automatic. If you work for this company, how can your conscience allow you to do so? they are manipulative?

Match.com Scammers and thieves

Match.com may have been good at one time, but now it is a scam! I was on a day or two. They would have actresses (the same one's photo) on 4 or 5 profiles with different names. I did chat to inform them. Complain? No one ever sees it. All corporate emails are "DO NOT REPLY" and you will never see your money again. You may get a stupid chat bot for fours hours per day (middle of the day when no one can use it). It always says, "I don't understand that" and it is totally worthless. You end up flushing your money down the toilet! It auto renews forever and you can't shut it off even when you replace your card, they will force charge it and money will be sucked out of your bank account. . Anything you complain about is in chat only - no company phone, email, fax or live body - ever. Even when you cancel after one day, they charge you the whole six months and there is no way to stop it (canc # Nick2025612173937373 but still a nonstop fine print $161 plus dollars for nothing). You will never see your money again and their profiles are fake. These fake women want free cars, computers, Apple pay cards, cash app loans, cell phones because they chatted with you for two or three minutes (it's all AI software chat function, because no matter what you type, it picks a few words and answers with the exact paragraph of circular crap and lies with just 2 or 3 words changed) - they are automatically entitled to your money using the match FREE APP!!! The profiles are a complete lie - just RUN AWAY or your money will be stolen!!!

However if I cannot receive messages I am not actually getting their service
In addition, the initial time when I get get access I saw all the same men I had seen 7 years ago … and I know these men are no longer on match
I was told by many persons that I was still being sent to them long after so quit Match

Horrific experience

Horrific experience! I signed up,spent less than 8 hours. I was initiated with 100s of emails. One was definitely a scammer. I just started deleting all emails. I tried to cancel. Received message that I couldn’t from Match. I tried to delete my profile, again received a message from Match I couldn’t until my “contract “ was up. I finally called my bank and turned them in for falsely representing their business. My bank blocked any further charges. I understand people are busy, but as for me, I have no problem meeting organically. Do not sign up.
