Honest Review – Read Before Taking Admission in IIG ⚠️
I usually don’t post things like this, but I don’t want others to lose their hard-earned money the way I did.
I completed my Master’s in Gemology from IIG in 2019. I come from a simple background (no jewelry business, no industry contacts) and joined purely out of passion for gems and stones.
Before admission, I was promised campus placement. Based on that, I paid around ₹2 lakhs.
👉 Reality: NOT A SINGLE PLACEMENT. Not even one.
The course that was supposed to finish in 2 months dragged on for almost 8 months. Meanwhile, I had to survive in Mumbai paying rent and expenses with no income.
After completing the course:
❌ No job assistance
❌ No placement support
❌ No industry guidance
❌ No updates about openings
Basically, once you pay the fees, you are on your own.
If you already have a family jewelry business or strong contacts, maybe you’ll manage. But if you are from a non-jewelry background thinking this course will build your career from scratch — this is a serious risk.
It has been over 6 years, and I can confidently say: 👉 The promises made at the time of admission were not delivered.
My advice: ✔️ Don’t trust verbal commitments
✔️ Ask for written placement guarantees
✔️ Speak to past students before joining
✔️ Think twice before investing lakhs
This is my personal experience. Sharing it so others can make an informed decision and avoid the same mistake.
