While this was initially a good service I have had multiple orders not delivered over the past month without any warning. Every single order has contained broken items. Although the customer service will refund this it is such a waste and obviously nothing is being done to improve things. Also a lot of the perishable items (chicken/beef etc) dont have best before dates which is insane.

I absolutely love Imperfect foods, I've been a customer for six months now. It took getting used to having to go in every Thursday and change my order. I don't like the foods they pick for me so I just delete them and get what I want. I'm very impressed with the quality of the produce and the snacks they up cycle are so yummy. Free shipping after 65 dollars and delivered to my door plus you can skip whenever you want to. I highly recommend it and it's a great cause!!!

Cancelled my MM boxes last week because I placed order. I always make sure order limit is reached to place order. It was not filled. When I complained they said I didn't complete the order, which I know I did. So this week I get e-mail from them on Friday that they billed my payment for it . I checked and surely they have a box picked for me. Not exactly what I would have selected if I did want it. Billed on Friday and said it was being packed to be shipped out. No notification that it has left warehouse yet. If it sits in warehouse for 4 days before being shipped I can imagine what it will look like when I receive it. I don't think they even bother to check their cancellations thinking that we will just accept it whenever they want to send it. Don't know how to cancel out when you go the their page to cancel and fill out everything they ask for. Guess I will just have to call credit card company and tell them to reject any charges from then from now on.
We have been using Imperfect for two years in tandem with another local supermarket food delivery service. The quality of Imperfect items is comparable. The customer service of Imperfect is better (they routinely respond quickly to errors in order or spoiled foods with credits, while the supermarket system can take more than a week to even respond via their automated system.) Imperfect uses less packaging and they take back the packages that are reusable. They also include a few gifts with each order. The delivery people are routinely pleasant, professional, and punctual.

Incredibly disappointing quality of packaging which made food inedible. Frozen items were not packaged correctly and were thawed by the time the box was delivered. This has been a constant issue which I have tried to resolve over several boxes. Instead of giving a refund they give a credit toward future boxes so you continue to have to order only to throw the food away.

I've been an Imperfect customer since 2016 (6 years!) and I love this company so much! The food is phenomenally delicious (and often fun shapes), their commitment to environmental justice is so inspiring, their customer service folks are always helpful and friendly, they take back their packaging (!!), and they are always seeking to learn and grow as a company. Over the past two years, they had to (got to!) scale on a massive level as folks turned to food delivery services during Covid shelter-in-place. Although that did seem to be a challenging experience for them (I received quite a few broken eggs back for the first few months of shelter-in-place), I have noticed that Imperfect has been taking more steps to make sure items arrive undamaged. I really appreciate both the unbroken eggs / non-smushed fruit and their attention to detail. They really do hear and act on customer feedback, they have scaled with intentionality & thoughtfulness, and they've dialed in their processes along the way! I love Imperfect!!!

Food delivery failed 3 times in one week. Canceled my account. If I need to order take out 3 days a week because they can't make sure a box is on a truck, not worth it. All they did was refund my money, no credit or meal on them, zip, nada, zilch. Ridiculous customer service will leave you and your family hungry and unprepared.

On 7/26/2022 at about 1:45 pm a pink large van with a logo by Imperfect Foods cut me off on a residential neighborhood in the city of Reseda near by a school . The driver who was representing this company was not considerate at all or self aware of there surroundings driving like a menace, having road rage blocking my way and hooking you he entire time while driving. I’m a mother and it’s terrifying that we have to encounter people like this on the road when all we want is come home safe to our family’s . I was extremely disappointed and search for information of this company Imperfect Foods and was a lil difficult to find a number where I can call and complain, I was able to and the representative was not much helpful . I have footage of what happened since I have a dash camera because if maniacs like this . Please don’t support this company. This company is not doing a good job by hiring unstable mental people . The people they hire should be professional enough to be responsible drivers .

This is a great company. I started getting their boxes a couple of years ago and have loved all of the new foods my family has been turned onto or experienced for the first time. (Did anyone say dragon fruit?!) And we feel really good about buying from them because we they pick up the packaging we can't recycle in our bin. Also, I didn't know but food waste is really, really bad for the earth. So if we can do a little by buying from them, it makes me really happy. They are much better than Misfits, that sent me rotten food, and have really nice customer service people if I ever have a problem. Thank you, Imperfect Foods!

Ground beef comes out weird, doesn't cook good.
I'm ok with ugly, small fruits and vegetables or whatever, I don't care what it looks like, as long as it's fresh, not bruised. Stuff comes crushed by other stuff. Anything packaged has a bland taste. And it doesn't seem to be much cheaper. Might as well pick the stuff out myself at a regular grocery store.
Cancelation was easy. Had a hard time getting rid of thrice.

Got my first order last week! The wife and I loved it. The fruits were imperfectly perfect. Great for lunches. Love the service. Delivered on time. Received all the notifications we needed. It was smooth. Customer service was excellent as well.

Imperfect continues to be a disappointment and a rip-off. I hadn’t ordered for quite some time due to issues with every single order. I received an email offering me 50% off two orders if I gave them another chance. I stupidly placed an order.
First issue - the total given was NOT 50% off. Turns out the fine print stated UP TO 50% off. I placed the order anyway.
The order arrived. Vegetables were rotten and bagels were stale and hard. The gel pack did not keep the proteins and other items cool. Everything was warm to the touch.
Imperfect’s response was to give me a small credit. Not a refund, but a credit. This, of course, forces the customer to spend even more money.
Not surprisingly, even though only part of my order received the 50% discount upon ordering, somehow the damaged items were all discounted items. So, even if I used the credit, it would not be enough to replace the inedible items!
This is typical of Imperfect and their so-called customer service.
Avoid this company!

I debated between 4 and 5 stars. Some of their prices are awesome, some are less awesome, so it's like normal grocery store prices for most things. BUT, their customer service is simply phenomenal! They take care of things is something breaks in shipping or arrives and isn't the best quality. Obviously, you're signing up to get oranges shaped like George Washington's hair sometimes, but I mean if something was old or otherwise not good to eat.
Their customer service is really geared towards keeping customers long-term and their policies for making things right shows that. I totally trust this company and have recommended it to others. I also love that I can recycle the cold packaging by just leaving it out on my porch for them to pick up when they drop off my next order!

Imperfect foods treats warehouse employees and drivers like slaves it’s very inhumane hot they treat everyone. The food quality is not even the greatest many if you people are getting ripped off. I wish peapod was still in business. Their produces was good quality and the drivers were very professional
I’ve been using imperfect for a few years now and there is some good and bad. My favorite thing about them is their proprietary products and pantry goods. The coffee is why I keep ordering from them, but I always add on a few more items like the chocolate covered pretzels or something I’ve never seen before.
However my biggest complaint is that they don’t put the weights of anything on their receipts. Since they don’t do that it’s impossible to know how much you’ve paid for things when it finally arrives. I’ve screen captured the order and checked and I’m consistently shorted whole lbs of things - it’s really frustrating and seems dishonest. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t include the weights on their confirmation emails unless they knew this was an issue. I have been reimbursed when I complain about it, but at the end of the day I just don’t trust them and so I try not to buy anything priced by weight.
Just wanted to give everyone else a heads up.

I really struggled with this company. Their initial (or original) mission statement really resonated with me. My husband and I shop using local CSA’s … so this seemed like a great brand to use.
Our first box arrived in July. We had been out in our yard and could smell it before we even saw that it arrived. (I am not exaggerating.) It was foul. Our box arrived fedex and they only used a few ice packs (not dry ice). Everything was smashed together and even things like cereal were ruined because the way the box was packed. It was disgustingly spoiled and EVERYTHING had to be thrown away. Which really felt like a large red flag and seemed so distant from their mission statement. I did not trust them … but we decided to wait until it got cooler and tried them again.
It was January. It was cold with a small amount of snow on the ground. I thought there was no way to get a box of rotting food! We tried again. (This was our second and last mistake with them). The box, two of them, arrived on time. They were left in a snow bank by the road (fedex issue there). However, I thought it was a good sign - that maybe they packed cold items in one and dry goods in the other. Not so. Again, everything was thrown in the box and mashed up. They used the same crappy ice packs …that were no longer frozen. They left things off the list. Had missing items or partially missing items. Replaced one item with a giant yogurt that exploded all over everything. So, even if everything had arrived in edible condition we still would have had to call and had our bill adjusted because we were shorted. They sent rotting vegetables (sweet potatoes literally had mold on them). Other items had broken open or had just gone bad. We did not feel safe eating ANYTHING packed in those boxes. Again, we threw everything that was in those boxes away …with exception to the avocado and honey body butter - which I loved both the design and product. It felt like such a waste.
The only good thing at the time was their customer service (though my friend says even that has gone down hill?). This company fails on its ability to deliver products. They don’t know how to package their products. They can’t seem to figure out how to get them to clients in a reasonable and safe time. They are wasteful! I was really disappointed. Imperfect does not live by its mission statement. Not only was it a waste of food, for us, but a waste of time, money and fuel resources. Choose another company … one that TRULY stands by its mission statement.

Been a customer for over 2 years. Great service, great mission, and tasty selection. They also have a tracker on your account page that tracks how much food/water/c02 you have saved since being a customer with Imperfect. Love seeing the 'good' when I shop for the week!
By the way, those who mentioned some produce/items that didn't show up as expected, I'd reccomend reaching out to thier customer care team (who were very helpful and never had a bad expierence with). They refunded some 'extra' bruised produce I recieved awhile ago with no issue whatsoever.
Finally, a company that cares.
