A really supportive community of passionate creatives. Providing numerous challenges & opportunities for feedback across the year on top of many screenings. The IHS is a great organisation to be part of.

The IHS is such a supportive, positive community that I feel so grateful to be part of. Super reasonably priced, with so much to offer - script feedback, a discord community, in person events, speed pitching, discounts, and more. The best part has been the people in the society - I made my first short horror through the contacts I met at the IHS, and they continue to be collaborators and friends today! I feel so proud to be a member and would recommend to all other indie horror fans and filmmakers.

The IHS is a must if you’re a horror filmmaker or fan in the UK, or even outside the country! I’ve been a member for a few years now and love their social nights to chat horror. The Discord group is especially helpful since you can ask about film festivals, sorting crew, locations, etc - the knowledge pool is vast. I also appreciate the monthly writers room where constructive feedback is given. There are also horror short film showcases, movie nights, and more. The support is get from IHS as a filmmaker has been really meaningful given how tough the industry can be :)

The IHS has built an incredible community of creatives of all experience levels, and since becoming a member, I have met some amazing people, stepped outside of my comfort zone and have been encouraged to seriously pursue my own creative endeavours within the Horror, Filmmaking, and Creative space. I would highly recommend the IHS to anyone wanting to break into the indie horror scene.

The community is extremely active, friendly and knowledgeable. The leaders plan plenty of useful in-person and virtual events, competitions, challenges, screenings and social mixers, amongst other things. All of which are very relaxed, open to all and very welcoming.

It's a pleasure to be a part of the IHS and see it continue to go in strength and reputation.

The IHS was so inpiring after joining, that I was encouraged to take a step into the unknown and make a short horror film myself. A daunting prospect at my age (51), but at every step of the way, help was there from the IHS, including building a crew from scratch.

I’ve been a member a number of years and I think they’ve found the secret sauce in terms of online and offline activity, they run a discord with a real pulse, because they also run great in-person events like showcases, mixers, and film challenges. There is a small cost for the pro version but you get a lot for it. Recommended if you are in any way connected to the horror scene professionally.

Highly recommended for those who want to work within the horror filmmaking/creative industry!

The Independent Horror Society is great for keeping in the know of the industry relating to horror news. It’s especially useful for the Pro section where you have access to funding small indie projects, connecting with other like-minded creatives through their private discord and it is very affordable! I’ve personally subscribed for a yearly plan and I intend to keep on subscribing. They’ve helped me with script writing and giving me advice on how I can refine my scripts risk free!

I’ve first heard about the IHS Pro through a network event within a horror film festival in London. I first subscribed to a monthly Pro for a couple of months just to test the waters (and that’s what I would recommend to newcomers) and then chose a yearly subscription to extend my subscription further on a cheaper rate.
