Index Busters worked on a complex textbook for me and produced an index that was far better than anything I could have accomplished on my own. The process was professional and done in a timely way at a reasonable cost. I would absolutely use them again.

Balsa was a great rep — responsive, clear, and patient with me and my client (index newbies) when we didn't understand certain aspects of the process. Our project wasn't an easy one. Index Busters did a fantastic job in organizing and highlighting the essential topic matter of a particularly complex and highly integrated technical text. Their objectivity and freshness to the subject was essential, but they also zeroed in the essential content in way that thoroughly demonstrated their grasp of the content and proficiency in accomplishing an amazing index product that adds great value to the work.

First, I had to contact them last minute (for most good indexers it's 3 months out, 2 if you're lucky). They were able to get it done in 2 weeks.
They are mid-range in price (I have lots of experience with this, mostly bad). Charged $650 for 250 indexable pages.
Most important, the work was EXCELLENT, it scrupulously followed the model I sent. It was so good U of Wales P sent me an e-mail asking me to congratulate them. Unheard of.

I am delighted in every possible way with the index Indexbusters supplied to me. First, they said 2 1/2 weeks. It took 2 1/2 weeks. The price was very fair. They communicated swiftly—none of this waiting and wondering if they got an email. The index itself is awesome.

Lisa of Index Busters built an index for my medical education manual which had numerous indexable terms. The manual title was, "The 10-Minute Physical Exam; recognizing medical syndromes", and was 175 pages. Her communication was prompt, cheerful, polite and professional. She was clear about turnaround time, which turned out to be quick. The index was much to my satisfaction. I requested a few additions, and she updated the index on the same day without extra charge. The cost for this service was very reasonable.

Indexbusters did a truly wonderful job on my demanding book - highly professional and reliable. I was impressed how well the index reflects the main threads of my book. It was obvious that David read my work thoroughly and put a lot of thought into the index.

I chose IndexBusters because their service is not just a word scan of my manuscript. They read the text to produce a quality index. Pricing is very fair, the work was delivered ahead of schedule, and was very high quality. I'll certainly look to them for my future index needs.

Indexbusters did a stellar job indexing my book. They did a very thorough job of referencing both the abstract concepts and the more concrete topics. They did it all quickly, especially for a 400+ page book, and when I suggested a couple of additions to add they did those right away. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will use them again for my next books. I highly recommend Index busters, but only if you're looking for fast indexing, expertly done. :-)

Would definitely recommend indexbusters. I write as the editor of a collection of literary/historical essays for an academic press - the deadline for turnaround of page proofs and production of the index was tight, but David delivered by our agreed date. The index produced was comprehensive, high quality, and to Press specifications. I have no hesitation in recommending, whatever your project.
