it is an unreliable delivery. I had an important thing to be delivered for which I had scheduled a day before, but when the delivery time came they were like we are not able to find any driver expect... See more

If I could put a negative star I would!
If I could put a negative star I would. Literally kept my money for a pick up I did not make. Refused to provide money back when I did not revive any groceries. Publix promised the $112 withdrawn from my bank account returned. It was never returned. Instacart refuses after multiple hours of trying to get my money back to do so! Do not trust Instacart. No wonder they are hiring for legal counsel, their business practices are illegal and steal people’s money.

I'm a shopper
I'm a shopper. This is the worst company on the planet. No customer service, app is sn atrocity. The worst company I've ever interacted with
I used them and they took my money and…
I used them and they took my money and said I could continue shopping. Since I forgot some items I continued and while I was they claimed a fraud alert, canceled my order and never returned my money. I called them and they said it takes 2-3 for returns to be processed, asked if I would be using their services again to which I replied "hard no" and that was nearly a month ago. No apology or refund. Clearly a scam.
Worst service EVER
Worst service EVER! Ordered early this morning and every hour on the hour they changed my delivery time til store closed. Now I have no produce for a baby shower and customer service will NOT HELP!!! Never again!!! HORRIBLE!!!
InstaCart WILL RIP YOU OFF
P I ordered 3 pizzas thru InstaCart. The subtotal was $38 and when I went to order, they charged $102 … I called the pizza place TO CANCEL who HAD NOT RECEIVED THE ORDER. I called Instacart who refused to cancel the order. The pizza place then called me and said that InstaCart was going to charge the money anyway so they were making and sending my $38 pizzas and charging my credit card $102 …. INSTACART CHARGED ME A $64 FEE and YOU SHOULD AVOID THESE THIEVES!!!!!¢
Horrible
Horrible! The shopper started my order and then started refunding items as out of stock. After she refunded the order, she asked me to cancel the entire order which was suppose to be delivered by 11:30. She stopped responding and just deserted the remainder of the order. I called customer service and was told that I would be charged a $15 fee to cancel! I had to reschedule the order and now won’t get it until after 7pm! This company is nuts. Never again!
i have been a customer of theirs for…5 years
i have been a customer of theirs for years. if you are a senior THEY PROMISE your shopper will be happy to bring your groceries inside for you. let me tell you, the shoppers do whatever they feel like doing. if you don't like it " tough " you still have the money taken out . you call customer service and they tell you they can't anything thru broken english. they ask you to refer your friends to them, yeah right, i want to deal with their problems and my own ! if you don't get something they tell to stop LYING TO THEM ! here is a bit of advice, DON'T, just don't join, trust me you WILL be very sorry.
I’ve been a loyal Instacart customer…
I’ve been a loyal Instacart customer for years, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing.
First, my order arrived missing about half of the items I selected, with no clear explanation. At my age (70), I rely on delivery services because it’s difficult for me to carry groceries myself, so this is not a minor inconvenience.
Second, I placed an order yesterday after seeing a promotion: spend $100 and get $50 off. The $50 discount was correctly applied to my bill at checkout. However, today the promotion simply disappeared from my account.
When I contacted support, the experience was just as frustrating. The first representative told me the promotion expired at 9:45 AM today — but I placed my order the evening before, when it was clearly active. She could not explain how this made sense. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that I had two promotions and the system applied the smaller one instead — which is confusing and was never disclosed during checkout.
Overall, this was a very poor customer service experience combined with misleading promotions. I expected much better transparency and reliability after being a long-time customer.
I was charged for 3 months of Instacart…
I was charged for 3 months of Instacart after I cancelled my subscription and they wouldn’t refund it. Cancelled in January, was charged for February, march, and April. Def won’t use them again and irritated they wouldn’t refund for being charged for a cancelled service.
Do not under any circumstances ever use…
Do not under any circumstances ever use Instacart. First, the lady who was fulfilling. My order could not speak English. The first thing she did is send me a text saying that the order was false, fake and that she was canceling the order. They had already charged my bank for the order. I told her that it was not a fake order. She kept having problems and asking me questions when I answered her she did not understand my answers because she was using a translator at the very end when I told her to purchase ten 1 pound packages of ground beef. she answered the text by saying she was calling the police! Half of the things I ordered she could not find and said they did not have them and what did I want them to be replaced with? When I answered apparently she didn’t like my answers so she threatened me with the police, after paying over $300 for a very small order. It took forever to speak to a live person because you have to go through their computer and answer a lot of questions that are meaningless. When I finally spoke to a real person, they were rude and I had to tell them three times that yes I wanted to continue with the order with a different shopper after 45 minutes on the phone they re-ordered it and gave me a different shopper but did nothing to make up for the shopper saying she was going to call the police when I had done and said absolutely nothing wrong. So once again, do not under any circumstances use Instacart. I will never use them again.
Their advertisement
Their advertisement, with the person gargling, “banana sensation sweeping the nation,” in that uneducated voice, sounds hideous.
I was overcharged and then delayed and…
I was overcharged and then delayed and put off. hung up on more than 5 times . later told that time had passed to recover my 150$
when i went to costco customer service thbey informed me and proved that
1. they 9,36 lbs of unordered pork chops i received in place of 3,3lbs of beef loin I ordered for 44$.
was never paid for by shopper.
2. that shopper or instacart billed the unwanted pork to me as beef loin for over 140 $. an increase of 100 $ for my order without even calling or texting me.
3. who knows were the pork came from as it was not paid for and the tag was pinched and unreadable.
4 that for the $441.31,of my order charged to me they paid (this is the kicker) $266. that's was shocking. almost 200 dollars which is added to the yearly subscription fee of 79$ per year
5 after being hung up on 3x i was given excuse that they were having internet problems.
the next time i gave my number in case we were cut off
and the last time also, each time explain what happened or didn't..
first the had me wait for refund (2days) it turned out to be a partial. upon recall another partial and never was the 30 dollars for undelivered tide pods given.
6. They would not take the 9.3lbs of pork back its value being $22,50 .
7. when recalled i was terminated for being outside the 3 day complaint time. even though the action was started within an hour of delivery as told by shopper who would not take the un wanted pork with him.
all told they netted 210 plus dollars on 266 from costco. i have since shopped my self and saved a lot of money .
8. they surcharge every thing you order some things more than others.
9 check warehouse price vs same day price to see difference.
Dangerous and not dependable
This experience with Instacart has been beyond frustrating. I originally placed my order at 8:00 PM yesterday because it was clearly advertised to arrive before 10:00 PM, and the order included medication that I needed for the following day.
Instead of starting the shopping in a reasonable timeframe, the order was not even shopped until 9:50 PM, only minutes before the delivery window closed. Unsurprisingly, I then received a last-minute apology saying the items could not be obtained, and I was left dealing with the mess on my own.
What makes this even worse is that it is now the next day, past the promised 10:00 AM delivery time, and the order is still not here. This is completely unacceptable. When customers are relying on essential items like medication, these kinds of delays are not just inconvenient—they can directly affect their ability to function the next day.
Promising delivery windows that you have no intention or ability to meet is misleading and wastes customers’ time. If the service cannot fulfill an order on time, that should be communicated honestly and early, not after hours of waiting and missed deadlines.
Extremely disappointing experience.
There is no quality control for the…
There is no quality control for the shoppers. Some of them have no common sense for instance they will shop frozen foods first. You should not need to explain this to a professional shopper. They cant or don’t communicate when they cant find an item to provide options for a good replacement because many of them dont speak english as a first language or at all. There is not intuitive thought process at all when shopping, for instance i asked for goat cheese, and shopper tried replacing it with cream cheese-bc thats the same thing? Then what do you know when i pressed him to find goat cheese, he was able to find it. Instacart especially sucks when you have a small order and find out too late to cancel that your shopper is too inept to find half the items or at least suggest a decent replacement, you wind up having to babysit the order which defeats the purpose. On the plus side i do find their customer service responsive for refunds but thats not intuitive either you have to search for the number instead of being able to easily access refund option from app. They just keep steadily going down hill. What was once an awesome service will probably be dead within 5 years just due to quality control or lack thereof in hiring
Scammers
Scammers. They illegally signed me and my husband both up for memberships that we did not consent to and we had to go through all kinds of madness to get refunded. Totally unacceptable.
A family of 8 used their whole April…
A family of 8 used their whole April budget on a huge Costco order for groceries. The father is out of town and mom has 5 kids and pregnant with 6th and was expecting her order to feed her children today and the delivery driver ETHEM decided to keep the order for himself. He sent a photo that was a black screen saying it was delivered and his profile picture is a selfie of him looking down. If instacart can't control thieves working for them robbing hard working people then don't run a shitty business. Fix this Immediately as they need groceries
A driver driving a blue Chevy SUV…
A driver driving a blue Chevy SUV driving through our community to make a delivery driving up and down the streets the wrong way at excessive speeds exceeding 45 mph and a 5 mile an hour speed zone when I made contact with the driver that he was going the wrong way and he needed to please slow down and obey the speed limits in the one-way signs. His answer to me was get out of my way I work for Instacart. I’m in a F… hurry, he backed up, pulled forward and an excessive speed had to slam his brakes on to keep from hitting me and proceeded to cuss at me some more he finally backed up, flew around me in an excessive speed once again on which streets put his car sideways going around a bend drove past our digital speed limit signs that clocked him going 47 miles an hour when I contacted Instacart all they said is they would document it and they were not gonna be no correction actions against him. They are very rude and ignorant and so is their office. I would not recommend them to deliver nothing especially when I explained to them this driver represents them his driving represents them and if he would’ve hit somebody that would’ve been on Instacart and they still said they would note it on the account and that’s all the further it would go so it’s OK for Instacart drivers to be in a hurry drive up and down the wrong streets the wrong way at excessive speeds as long as Instacart gets their food delivered. Very nice. and just so it’s noted this happened in Naples, Florida at an RV community called Sun retreats Naples East maybe someone higher up we’ll get the message and correct this action of the driver.
I have been using Instacart for years…
I have been using Instacart for years and for the most part I was pleased. However today had me questioning ic I should ever use them again. Not ony was my delivery time 2+hours late whick was a major inconveniece. My list was not followed, possibly due to rushing pr multiple orders which is even more of an inconvenience because I now have to go to the store when I get home from work tomorrow after working a double shift. Totally unacceptable.
Hey Instacart, learn quality over quantity
The few times I've used instacart the shoppers were terrible. Piss poor. No communication and it's like they want to do the least amount of work possible. The time before this time that I used it I just wanted water from Publix and a couple of snacks.
The young lady noted that Publix was out of water. 😑
In what lifetime has Publix ever been out of water?!
She just didn't want to carry it even, though I tipped her $11 to do so. These people just don't want to work, but they want that pay.
Yesterday I placed an order with them and all I wanted was popsicles (pregnancy craving). Popsicles, lemons, and limes. The lady didn't communicate, she just started marking everything sold out. I frequent that Kroger and I know for a fact that you have to look. The popsicles are Kroger brand and they tend to get hidden behind the more popular name brand popsicles. She didn't care, she didn't care about anything and she just started marking everything sold out.
So I cancelled my entire order because I didn't just want one lemon.
I also do gig work. I do as much as I can because I'm a retired combat veteran on a super fixed income.
My issue with instacart is I've been on their waiting list to be a shopper for about 4 years now. And there's no budging. So they're not doing any kind of rotations any new people or anything.
Meanwhile the current people they have are not quality. Those shoppers are trash and I'm sorry to say it but I have to tell the truth. Piss poor. No communications and no cares given.
If they don't feel like working they won't so why not hire people that want to work? It's ridiculous. I'm deleting my account and I don't care to wait on the list anymore, there are no standards. I'll continue to utilize other services as more and more stores are coming up with their own delivery systems.
Instacart, work on quality over quantity but usually big businesses couldn't care less. So my dollars will go elsewhere. And according to these reviews so will a lot of other people's.
